Lately, many banners have appeared in streets and alleyways of Nanchang City, the capital city of Jiangxi Province. These banners praise the goodness of Falun Dafa and advise officials not to take part in the persecution of Dafa practitioners.

In Changsha City, 61 practitioners were abducted and 13 were sentenced. One of those was practitioner Ms. Chen Guo, who was sentenced for seven years in prison. She was transferred to the Changsha Women's Prison last week, where she went on a hunger strike in protest for one week.

A military court has unlawfully sentenced former Ph.D. candidate Mr. Li Zhigang from the National Defense Technology University to 10 years in prison. We don't know which prison is holding him currently.

Practitioner Zhou Zhi was taken from a rented room in July 2003 in the Xihu District in Benxi City. Afterwards, he was tortured to in an attempt to extract a confession and then taken to Benxi City's Detention Center. Zhou Zhi has been on a hunger strike for five months since his abduction. The policemen promised Zhou's family that they would be allowed to see him if they paid 1,000 Yuan,* but after his family paid the money, the police still would not allow them to see him. Zhou has become very weak due to the hunger strike. Recently when officials from the Pingshan District Court tried Zhou Zhi and other practitioners, he had already lost the ability to walk. Others had to hold him up. The family members, not being permitted to see him, nonetheless are concerned that his life is in danger now. They are upset that the officials lied to them and did not keep their commitment to let them see him, even though they paid the required amount of money.

On December 26, 2003, three or four officers from the Nandi Police Station broke into the over-70-year-old practitioner Ma Zhaofen's home and abducted her. Currently she is detained in a brainwashing class, located in the drug detoxification center affiliated with Benxi City's Forced Labor Camp and is suffering abuse.

Practitioner Wang Shouchuang from Changchun City was detained and not released even after his term was up. Furthermore, the prison guards had severely beaten him. Now he has been transferred to Xinglong Mountain Brainwashing Class. When his family went to visit him, they noticed a burn wound on his face.

Mr. Wang Youzhang is 55 years old, from Wanghai Village, Xiakou Township of Fucheng County. He was abducted on December 12, 2003 and taken into Fucheng County's Detention Center.

Mr. Jiang Jianfeng is 32 years old, from Songyuan City, Jilin Province. National Security Bureau personnel abducted him in December 2001. In June 2002 he was sent to the Jiutai City Forced Labor Camp for two years' forced labor. During this period, with his firm and righteous belief in Master and Dafa, he resisted all of the police's demands. They used various torture methods on him and kept him in the so-called "strict surveillance class." When his term was up, they extended it an extra three months.

Mr. Shao Yanbo is over 20 years old, from Gansu Province. National Security Bureau agents abducted him on December 7, 2003.

In late November 2003, Tan Xinhai, head of the Sanshui Town Police Station, together with Liu Guangjian, Liao Xianyong and one other broke into the home of practitioner Gao Yingju. They forced him into a vehicle and sent him to Guanghan City's Hexing Brainwashing Class. Gao Yingju has a 70-year-old mother and a son who is currently attending high school. All the four family members rely on him for their livelihood.

Enforcers from the Dongmajuan Town Police Precinct, Wuqing District, Tianjin City, have abducted practitioners Tian Lanting, Li Yingqi and Li Baolan, ransacking their homes and the same day held them in the district's detention center. Furthermore, they abducted practitioners Qin Guiling and Zhang Fengru into the custodial center on November 17, 2003.

Shuangkou Labor Camp of Tianjin City is running brainwashing class in Division No.1; its phone number is: 86-22-86835274. Yang Zhiqiu, the instructor of Division No.1 used various methods to mistreat and torment practitioners, inciting and encouraging the common prisoners to torture them, including applying electric shocks, depriving them of sleep, punishing them with practice drills and forbidding family visits.

On November 4, 2003, directed by the team leader, many prisoners who were instigated to be "personal cangues,"** had savagely beaten practitioner Li Wanqing, who is held in Division No.2. Abducted practitioners stationed in Division No. 3 on the first floor all heard Li Wanqing's painful screams.

Policemen who urged others on to beat him include He Jinjun, Guo Jinhe, Ni Zhenxiong, and He Kun. The five prisoners who participated in the beating are Xu Jinghui, Zhang Changshu, Li Yonggang and one other.

Sun Naitian, secretary of the Political and Judiciary Committee for Gaotaizi Town, Mingshan District, Benxi City has over the past years committed many unconstitutional acts. This man sent many practitioners to forced labor camps, and has also abducted and sent them to brainwashing classes.

Liu Wenbin is the chief of the "610 Office"*** in the Northeast Metal Alloy Limited Company. To comply with persecution orders from the authorities, he has begun to run brainwashing classes in that company since 2000. Most of the practitioners have suffered from persecution, having to endure layoffs and being deprived of their salaries. Now he has further ordered the heads of auxiliary factories to locate practitioners and threaten them, in an attempt to force them to give up their cultivation.

On September 9, 2003, nurse Liu Nianhua from Macheng City's Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital spoke with patients about her personal experience of the powerful effect of Dafa on health improvement, about the persecution and exposing the Jiang regime's lies. An individual named Zou, who did not know the facts about Dafa, found out about this. Zou secretly brought to the hospital six criminal policemen, who arrested her and searched her home. They deceived her into accompanying them into the Macheng No. 2 Detention Center and illegally detained her there. After she further clarified the truth, the criminals knew that they did not have any reason to detain her, and let her know that she would be released if she agreed to pay money. Liu Nianhua firmly refused at first, but the unlawful policemen secretly demanded and received over 4,000 Yuan from her family. She was not released until a week later.
