New York City: Stop Killing Falun Gong Practitioners and Bring Jiang Zemin to Justice (Photo)

(Clearwisdom.net) Upon the arrival of the Eve of the 2004 Chinese New Year, news came that another fellow practitioner in China was tortured to death. Greater New York practitioners gathered in front of the Chinese Consulate and called for the end of the persecution, as well as bringing the killers to justice.

It was bitterly cold and windy in front of the Chinese Consulate, but Falun Gong practitioners still came to send forth righteous thoughts. For several years, regardless of the weather conditions, a few older practitioners, with the oldest over 70 years old, have come to the Consulate to distribute flyers and send forth righteous thoughts everyday. Practicing Falun Gong kept their bodies healthy, with compassion in their hearts. For the sake of the precious Chinese people, the seniors keep coming to the Consulate every day.

It was the fifth Chinese New Year's Eve since the persecution of Falun Gong. During the five years, Jiang's regime has used one fourth of China's economic resources to persecute Falun Gong. The regime manipulates the state-run media to continuously broadcast lies to the Chinese people and cover up the persecution. So far, 865 Falun Gong practitioners have been documented as being tortured to death, hundreds of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners were sentenced to jail and labor camps, tortured, and forced into attending brainwashing sessions. More Falun Gong practitioners and their family members live under huge pressure. Their basic rights are not guaranteed.

During the last five years, Falun Gong practitioners have followed Master Li's teachings and the universal principle of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance", and spread the facts about Falun Gong worldwide, including China. More and more people have come to understand and support Falun Gong. The call to stop the persecution of Falun Gong has become stronger.

Jiang Zemin has been sued in many countries. On January 20, 2004, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit accepted the appeals of Falun Gong practitioners on the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin. Falun Gong practitioners worldwide have filed lawsuits against Jiang and the "610 Office"* in the U.S., Belgium, Spain, Germany, Taiwan, and Korea.
