The book¹ does a certain amount to expose the evil's persecution of Dafa students and to save people. You can publish it in ordinary society, enthusiastically spread it among everyday people, or publish it in installments on certain websites meant for the public. However, don't promote it among our students so as to avoid causing them disruption. Nothing should interfere with how students progress towards Consummation and validate the Fa.

As far as its content goes, many passages in the book were written with human attachments. We absolutely cannot promote among students somebody's being attached to writing a book to expose the persecution and for that purpose being transformed by the evil. Do you know what "transformation" means? In fact, what Gods see is: the person got out of there to expose the evil because she could no longer endure it, and her pursuit of getting out was really an attachment that she wasn't able to let go. Under absolutely no circumstance should a Dafa disciple be transformed by the evil--even if it's to expose the persecution. Besides, exposing the persecution is not the ultimate purpose of a Dafa disciple's cultivation. So we cannot have other students who haven't completely removed their human attachments follow suit, and even less so should the book be promoted among students on the websites for students.

Cultivation is a solemn thing. I want you to cultivate into gods, and in that process you are able to validate the Fa. That is why I have imparted the Dafa to you, and why I have given you unprecedented, eternal glory. It is not to have you simply become a hero among everyday people in counteracting the persecution. Rather, it is to have you validate the Fa while negating the old forces' arrangements and opposing the persecution, and to, through this, progress towards godhood.

Mr. Wang Defeng, 37 years old, was a resident of Houxiawazi, Handian Town, Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province. He used to suffer from tuberculosis and had severe problems with his lungs. In 1996, he started to practice Falun Gong. All of his illnesses went away shortly afterwards.

After Jiang's regime started to persecute Falun Gong in July 1999, Wang went to Beijing many times to appeal. He also wrote letters to provincial and central government officials, telling them about the benefits Falun Gong had brought him. In 2000, Wang went to Beijing to appeal and was arrested. He was taken back to Shuangcheng Detention Center, where he was jailed for several months. The police did not release him until they extorted over 2,000 Yuan from his family (the average monthly income of a Chinese worker is 500 Yuan).

On a summer night in 2001, police from Handian Police Station and the "610 Office"* broke into Wang's home and took him away while he was sleeping, not even allowing him to put on his coat. Wang was jailed and tortured in the Shuangcheng City Detention Center. He was not released until he was near death. Mr. Wang passed away on June 30, 2002.

When called, a policeman from Handian Police Station said that Wang Defeng died of tuberculosis around July of the previous year. The police station's phone number is 86-451-53230407.

(Clearwisdom.net) 69-year-old Zeng Lingwen is a retired professor from the Physics Department of Jilin University. Because she persisted in cultivating Dafa, she was abducted from home on Feb 9, 2002 [the date provided by Zeng Lingwen''s daughter in Canada] and sent to a brainwashing class, where she was tortured and forced to give up her practice. With her righteous faith in Dafa, she was not moved at all. Authorities sent her to Changchun Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp for two years'' forced labor.

Initially, the guards sent some former practitioners who had gone astray to take turns to "re-educate" her, but all of their efforts were in vain. They then put her under intensive surveillance. The elderly professor is always kind to others, treating everyone like a loving mother. Guard Wang Lihui did not allow her to speak to anyone, and locked her in the cell to be watched by a specifically designated person. She was not allowed to contact anyone, and her family members were not allowed to have meals with her. Personal items sent by her family members were sometimes not allowed to be given to her. She was even deprived of her right to meet her family members.

In October 2003, Professor ''Zeng was reported to the guards because she was reading Teacher''s articles. Holding the articles in her hand in front of the team of more than 30 people in the hall, guard Wang Lihui demanded to know where she got them. The professor was not afraid and answered loudly, "They''re'' mine. Give them back to me!" Wang Lihui was outraged. She took hold of Zeng''s clothes on the chest and dragged her along the hallway into the guards'' office, cursing her along the way. Wang Lihui personally searched all of the professor''s stuff, and threw away some of her necessities. Since then, they forced the professor to be the first to get up every morning at 4 a.m. One person was in charge of watching her. She is not allowed to speak with anyone. In the evening, she is forced to stay later than 10 p.m., and is not allowed to go downstairs to have meals. She is locked in a small cell day and night. Her hands were broken and there is a large bruise on her lower leg. The guards use "term-reduction" and "promotion" to incite some people to persecute Dafa practitioners.

Professor Zeng is a very knowledgeable and self-restrained person who is highly respected by others. All people who met with her share the same feeling because she firmly believes in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" and even under such harsh conditions, she still tries her best to treat others kindly. Unfortunately, she suffers such physical and mental torture because of her steadfastness in her belief. It is obvious who is righteous and who is evil, who is right and who is wrong.

(Clearwisdom.net) In October 2003, the Xinye County Court in Henan Province sentenced 10 Dafa practitioners to between one and nine years in prison. The court did not even notify their families of the date and time of their loved ones' illegal trials. The ten practitioners protested to the court for putting them on trial for exercising their constitutional freedom of personal belief by exclaiming, "Falun Dafa is good!" Their righteous spirits caused the judge to close the trial in a panic.

At the time of writing, the ten practitioners are still detained in Xinye County Detention Center. The local police are planning to transfer them to Mi County Male Prison and Xinxiang City Women's Prison in Henan Province respectively. They are currently protesting their detention via various approaches, including going on a hunger strike.

The aforementioned ten Dafa practitioners are:

63-year-old Mr. Li Wan'e was sentenced to six years in prison. He was a cadre at the Agriculture Bureau in Xinye County, Henan Province, and a local resident in Xindianpu Town, Xinye County. Mr. Li Wan'e went to Beijing in October 1999 to clarify the truth about Falun Dafa, but was arrested and transferred back to Xinye County where the elderly cadre suffered from atrocious tortures for several months while in detention in a local unknown prison. As a determined Dafa practitioner who refused to renounce Falun Dafa, Mr. Li Wan'e was sentenced to three years in the 2nd Forced Labor Camp in Ruzhou City, Henan Province in March 2000. In the same year, Mr. Li was transferred to the 3rd Forced Labor Camp in Xuchang City. In October 2000, Mr. Li Wan'e was released on bail from the 3rd Forced Labor Camp to receive medical treatment because his blood pressure skyrocketed to a deadly level. On November 1, 2002 (prior to the 16th National People's Congress), police officer Mr. Tan Junmin and two of his colleagues from the 3rd Forced Labor Camp in Xuchang City abducted Mr. Li Wan'e to the forced labor camp again. Although Mr. Li was released unconditionally 22 days later on November 23, police officers from Xinye County Public Security Bureau, including Mr. Li Yanpu, Mr. Li Bin, Mr. Peng Zenglan, Mr. Qi Jingjie, took him away again five days later on November 28. Mr. Ma was sentenced to five years in prison. He was a cadre at the Agriculture Machinery Company in Xinye County. He was arrested in Beijing for clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa in October 1999, and transferred back to Xinye County, where he was detained for several months. In December 1999, he was illegally sentenced to three years in the 2nd Forced Labor Camp in Ruzhou City where he suffered from the forced brainwashing efforts of the depraved staff and succumbed to their tortures. He was released earlier than scheduled in the summer of 2000. Later Mr. Ma realized that it was wrong of him to compromise his personal belief, so he resumed his efforts of clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa. In the summer of 2002, the local police took him again to the detention center. Because he was impervious to the police officers' persecution, the police tried to transfer him, along with several other Dafa practitioners, to the 3rd Forced Labor Camp in Xuchang City. Due to these practitioners' powerful righteous thoughts, the forced labor camp refused to take them in and returned them to the detention center in Xinye County. They were soon released unconditionally. On November 1, 2002 (prior to the 16th National People's Congress), police officers from Xinye County Public Security Bureau, including Mr. Li Yanpu, Mr. Li Bin, Mr. Peng Zenglan, Mr. Qi Jingjie, arrested him again. During the detention period (and prior to the transfer to the respective prisons), police officers from the Xinye County Public Security Bureau, such as Mr. Li Yanpu, Mr. Li Bin and Mr. Peng Zenglan, ordered police officers on the criminal investigation team, (who were hired for coercion, attack and underhanded or unscrupulous tasks), to savagely beat up and torture these Dafa practitioners. According to an eyewitness, Mr. Li Yanpu, Mr. Li Bin and Mr. Peng Zenglan each held a baton to pummel one Dafa practitioner. After the three of them knocked him to the floor, they violently kicked him on the head with their hard tipped leather shoes while exclaiming stoutly, "We will beat you to death if you don't renounce Falun Gong! We've got an order from the top that 'death of Falun Gong practitioners from beating is nothing and shall be counted as suicide.' Try complaining to Jiang Zemin!" It is Jiang Zemin's thuggish political group that has been goading the Chinese police to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners. Yet none of these morally depraved police officers had the backbone to sign their names on the "interrogation records."

Dr. Wang Xiaodong is a Falun Dafa practitioner from Zhaozhou County, Daqing City and a surgeon at the County Chinese Medical Hospital. Before he practiced Falun Gong, Dr. Wang suffered from chronic tuberculosis and hepatitis B. His illnesses were not cured even though he had sought medical treatment everywhere. Dr. Wang's health quickly returned to normal after he started to practice Falun Gong in October 1998. Since then, he has conducted himself strictly according to the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance." Always thinking of others before himself, he was admired by his colleagues.

On July 20, 1999, Jiang's regime launched its brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, adopting the policy known as, "Defame them politically, devastate them financially, and destroy them physically." They also proclaimed that, "Anyone beating Falun Gong practitioners to death will not be held accountable, and beating them to death is counted as their committing suicide." Such was the approved treatment of Falun Gong practitioners, who firmly believe in "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance" and only want to be kind people.

Out of confidence in the government, Dr. Wang Xiaodong went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in December 1999. He was arrested and detained at the Beijing Liaison Office of Daqing City. Later, Wang Xuejun from the Political and Security Division of the Zhaozhou Police Bureau and Jiang Xintong from the leadership of the Chinese Medical Hospital, brought Dr. Wang to the Zhaozhou Forced Labor Camp. Li Qinghe, the director of the labor camp, and policemen Wang Zhong, Wang Anzhong, Yang Xiulin and others, brutally tortured Dr. Wang Xiaodong. Their methods included the following:

1. Freezing Torture. Dr. Wang was stripped of all his clothes and was forced to stand in the wind when the temperature was below -5^o F. The policemen poured icy water over his head, about 20 barrels for each round of this torture.

2. "Flicking the Bulbs". The policemen instructed the inmates to flick Dr. Wang's eyeballs with their fingers.

3. "The Fists that Calm the Heart". Dr. Wang was forced to stand with his back leaning against a wall while inmates punched and kicked his chest and abdomen.

4. "Old Bull's Whip". This is a torture instrument invented by Director Li Qing for torturing Falun Dafa practitioners. Many practitioners were tortured with this instrument. During June and July 2000, Director Li Qing brutally beat practitioners Liu Zhiguo, Liu Zhikun, Pan Junfeng, and Guo Shuyan using the "Old Bull's Whip". Their buttocks were beaten until the skin was broken and the flesh was raw and bleeding. Dr. Wang Xiaodong was not spared this torture. This torture was usually administered by the prison guards with the assistance of inmates.

On February 21, 2000, Dr. Wang Xiaodong was transferred to the Zhaozhou Detention Center and detained there for three months. He was released at the end of April 2000. Dong Zhiping and Wang Xuejun from the Political and Security Division of the Zhaozhou Police Bureau extorted the exorbitant sum of 5,000 yuan from his family [500 yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China]. Later, when his family members went to the Police Bureau to ask for the money back, the director of the police bureau, Qiao Xiaofeng, said, "The money was not entered in the ledger and it is not clear where the money went." Since then, policemen from Jianshe Police Station have frequently gone to Dr. Wang's house to harass his family.

In December 2000, Dr. Wang Xiaodong went to Beijing again to speak out the truth of Falun Dafa. On Tiananmen Square, he unfurled banners proclaiming, "Falun Dafa is Good," and "Restore Teacher's Reputation." Dr. Wang was arrested and taken to the Huairou County Detention Center in Beijing. There he suffered from inhuman torture for not renouncing his belief. The torture methods included the following:

1. Shocking with Electric Batons. The police first conducted an illegal body search, then tied Dr. Wang to a metal pillar and shocked him with high voltage electric batons on his head, upper body, and arms.

2. "Piloting an Airplane". Dr. Wang was forced to stand on one leg with the other leg stretched out backwards, both arms stretched out to the sides, and his head bent down. He was also forced to stand along a wall. When he could no longer hold the posture, he would be beaten brutally.

3. "A Sky Full of Stars". Dr. Wang was forced to stand straight facing a wall with his head leaning on the wall. The prison guards instructed inmates to grab his hair and bang his head against the wall.

4. "Pulling Hairs Alive". Using home-made tweezers, they pulled hairs from Dr. Wang's beard, eyelashes and eyebrows until his face was bleeding.

5. Freezing Torture. Dr. Wang was forced to lie on the ice-covered ground in the night.

6. "The Fists that Calm the Heart".

Two weeks later, Dr. Wang was transferred to the Laohugou Detention Center, Chengde City for further persecution. In January 2001, the director of the Zhaozhou Public Health Division and Liu Yi from the "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] tried to return him to his local area. Under the protection of our Teacher, Dr. Wang escaped on the way there using righteous thoughts, and started a yearlong life of homelessness.

In November 2001, while he was exchanging experiences in a fellow practitioner's home, Dr. Wang was arrested again by three policemen from the Political and Security Division of the Police Bureau, one of whom was Dong Zhiping. He was illegally brought to the county detention center and tortured. Because he would not give up his belief in "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance", Dr. Wang was sentenced to three years on December 26, 2001. He was sent to the Daqing Labor Camp but was declined for health reasons. Later, he was transferred to the Zhaozhou County Detention Center, where he went on a hunger strike to protest. In February 2002, Dr. Wang escaped from the evil den and merged into the mighty current of Fa-rectification.

Because of his practice of Falun Gong, Dr. Wang's salary from the Chinese Medical Hospital was stopped in November 1999. He now has to drive a tricycle [as a taxi or cargo vehicle] to earn his living. Dr. Wang still conducts himself strictly according to the standard of Falun Gong and always remembers Teacher's teachings. One time he found a purse in which there was 350 yuan in cash and three certificates of deposit worth over 10,000 yuan. He searched everywhere in order to return the purse to the person who lost it. The person was so grateful and wanted to invite him for dinner. He quietly declined the invitation with thanks, and told the person, "Remember that 'Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance' are good. It is Falun Dafa that changed me into an unselfish person."

(Clearwisdom.net) Practitioner Hu Yuxiang is a teacher from Chaoyang Township, Zhaozhou County, Daqing City. She was in ill health before and could not be cured. After practicing Falun Dafa she recovered fully. She became more amiable, especially towards her mother-in-law. The mother-in-law always boasted to fellow villagers. "After my daughter-in-law took up practicing Falun Gong, she totally changed. She is really good in every aspect." Many fellow villagers agree that Falun Dafa is good, and want to practice. Yuxiang's husband is Nie Shuzhong. They have a lovely son. After he saw his wife's improvement both mentally and physically, he was full of joy. But after July 20th, 1999, when the persecution of Falun Gong started, their happy and harmonious family has been in turmoil.

In December 2000, Hu Yuxiang was arrested and sent to Daqing City's liaison office in Beijing because she appealed for an end to the persecution. The office notified her local police station to pick her up. The chief of the police station, Gao You, cheated Nie Shuzhong out of 3000 Yuan (This is a large sum of money for a farmer; 500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China), claiming it was for picking up Hu Yuxiang from Beijing. Then Gao visited the township's Party secretary, Liang Xueyi, demanding money, saying that they will go to Beijing to pick up Hu Yuxiang. Liang Xueyi told Chen Jun to pay the money, saying, "You can pay the money beforehand. When Hu Yuxiang comes back, it is still on them (Hu's family) to pay." Then they left for Beijing.

When Hu came back, some work units kept demanding money from Nie Shuzhong. As a result, Nie sustained a heavy financial burden. Since Hu held to her belief and never yielded to the evil, she was sentenced to 2 years of forced labor, causing Nie Shuzhong huge mental pressure.

Then the civil administrator in Chaoyang Township, together with Nie Shuzhong, went to the detention center to go through divorce procedures for the couple. When Nie Shuzhong presented a divorce certificate, everybody stopped demanding money from him since it was written on the certificate: Hu Yuxiang is responsible for paying the debt. Their divorce was completely forced. Both of their parents were opposed. Hu Yuxiang never violated any law and never committed any crime. She was threatened, detained, and sentenced to a labor camp. What on earth is happening in China?

Actually, Nie Shuzhong had been waiting for Hu to come back. During that time, it is hard to imagine the pressure he endured. Many people in the township government kept pressuring him to find a new wife to look after him, but he rejected that idea.

At last Nie Shuzhong withstood all the pressure and remarried Hu Yuxiang, who never gave up her belief in " Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance."

In fact, Falun Gong practitioners benefit a great deal from practicing and truly believe Falun Gong is good. Otherwise, why would they incur the horrible costs of going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong? If Falun Gong were not good, even if they were paid, they would never do that. Can you imagine the risks of being arrested, beaten, sentenced to a labor camp, tortured, sentenced to prison or losing their lives?

In order to persecute Falun Gong, Jiang Zeming employed many shady methods. If a person goes to Beijing to appeal, the local officials are investigated, fined, punished, or even dismissed, as if they had any control over the actions of individuals. The fear of personal loss made them choose to take action against the innocent Falun Gong practitioners. He coerced every level of government into persecuting Falun Gong. However, people are quite clear that their family members benefitted from Falun Gong. Can Jiang carry out the persecution much longer when people see through his money, pressure, seduction and lies?

(Clearwisdom.net) I often read articles on Clearwisdom or hear practitioners around me discuss what they have enlightened to from their dreams. It is true that many practitioners have received hints from Teacher via dreams. Some images in their dreams were either evolved by Teacher or what their primordial spirit encountered in other dimensions. However, there are also other factors involved in one's dreams. If we become too attached to our dreams, we will bring much interference to ourselves. So no matter how we came across these scenes, if they are truly hints and reminders from Teacher, they would be consistent with the Fa that Teacher has lectured in public. If there are inconsistencies, we must think whether or not the contents of these dreams comply with Dafa. If they don't and are farfetched, or directly run counter to the Fa, we must be on the alert instantly and eliminate those dreams as interference, and at the same time, we should look inward to check what mentalities we had that attracted these things.

I believe that even if Teacher did hint us through a dream, we should not dig into the specifics, as it would only make it harder for us to realize the true meaning behind the dream. We must refer back to the Fa and truly cultivate our hearts. We should enlighten to things based on the Fa, because this is the foundation for all transformation and strength.

If we become too attached to the plot and the fine details of a dream, we would be like a person who has lost his way, and when asking a passerby for directions, instead of continuing forward with the help of the passerby's instructions, we become overly attached to the passerby's hand gestures and movements, etc. This way, we may fail to grasp the main points or even mislead ourselves by creating new problems.

This reminds me of practitioners who have taken detours under the evil persecution. Some of them had their celestial eyes opened. When they held onto their attachments and would not let go, demons in other dimensions appeared in various forms. These practitioners then tried hard to figure out what these images meant, but only ended up feeling very confused and exhausted. This might be one of the reasons why they had enlightened along an evil path. It is true that images practitioners see through their celestial eyes under interferences are somewhat similar to the "dreams" they experience when having attachments. However, even if a dream is indeed a hint dropped by Teacher, it is there to guide us out of our mistakes and to encourage us to cultivate more diligently, and not meant for us to enjoy the dream itself.

We all know that everything of today's human society is actually brought about by Dafa disciples' thoughts. Everything changes according to our mentalities, so how can we continue to be so attached to these things and so easily affected? As Dafa disciples, we should not be moved by anything, be it success or failure. We shouldn't be moved by phenomena of the surface dimension or become attached to what other practitioners see at different levels of the colossal firmament. We should grasp this opportunity to cultivate, to validate the Fa, and to accomplish our historic mission! Teacher said, "A heart unmoved subdues ten thousand hearts attempting to move."

From this I recall that during experience sharing, some practitioners often say things like, "My cultivation state has not been good these past few days.", "I do not feel that my righteous thoughts are as strong as before." and "I'm doing great these days." These are all observable personal cultivation states, and could be caused by all kinds of intrinsic and extrinsic factors. Or it could be just the manifestation of a particular level in cultivation. Or perhaps it is time we let go of our attachments to progress to a higher level. It may also very well be a state intentionally created by the evil to interfere with us both physically and mentally. These are a different form of interference. We should focus on our cultivation in Dafa so that nothing can move us. We need to strengthen our main consciousness and differentiate them clearly.

I realize that we need to let go of not just attachments, but also all of the old notions and standards deposited throughout our lives at various levels in the history of the old universe, as well as our attachments to certain states that were derived from the old notions. These deeply rooted notions and mentalities often manifest in our everyday life. Although they appear to be similar, what underlies them is actually quite different. We must maintain a clear main consciousness. I have come to realize that the standard Teacher has set for us in our cultivation is extremely high. In the past, I often exhibited a mentality of feeling pleased with myself after enlightening to some principles, and in the next few days, I would find that both validating the Fa and my personal work ran exceptionally smooth. I was in a really good state, however, it faded away quickly too. The smoothness that I experienced previously then took a drastic turn. My mood was also affected in the process, and I was not as confident as before.

Why is that? I realized that in cultivation, we should not feel reluctant to leave the so-called "good state". Cultivation is not easy, and we have to continue to raise our levels and to make breakthroughs. How could we improve if we always long to stay in a "good state"? The only way to achieve this is to keep progressing, make breakthroughs, and not be attached to a particular level. Teacher said in "A Righteous God", "With righteous thoughts and righteous actions He is diligent without letting up" Indeed, we cannot pause for even a second!

On the issue of studying the book, some practitioners said, "Why is it that I can no longer enlighten to as many profound principles as before when I read the book?" Of course, this may be the manifestation of a certain stage in cultivation. However, I find that there is actually an attachment hidden deeply beneath these words. It is the attachment to obtaining more profound principles and to enlighten to even higher levels. There appears to be nothing wrong with this, yet I can see in these words a mentality of pursuit and a mentality of demanding things from Dafa. In fact, whatever we enlighten to is determined by us having assimilated to that level of the Fa. Seeing this, Teacher then points it out to us. Or we may say it is a natural result of us unconditionally assimilating to the Fa, and of us having understood the Fa principle of that level, not a result of pursuit. Teacher has said, "Pursue nothing and gain naturally."

(Clearwisdom.net) A while ago, two practitioners at our Dafa truth-clarification materials production site got into a conflict with each other. One of them became so angry that she left the site, which brought a halt to our regular material production and resulted in many unnecessary losses. In less than two months, that practitioner was captured by the authorities in another area. Upon hearing this news, the practitioner with whom she had clashed began saying things like, "Why was she captured?" "She should really look inward to see what she has done wrong." "Does she meet the requirements of Dafa?" My point here is that both sides were wrong. Neither of their actions were based on the Fa, nor did they truly follow Teacher's requirements in looking inward.

Let's first talk about the practitioner who was unhappy to have her mistake pointed out. Based on my experiences in cultivation over the years, I have discovered that when fellow practitioners point out our omissions, when they reveal to us our attachments, or when they tell us where we have not done well, they are correct almost one hundred percent of the time. The person being criticized usually displays one of the following three reactions: One, they recognize their omissions immediately; two, they notice their mistake, yet they refuse to admit it due to human notions; three, they truly cannot see their problems. During my cultivation, I noticed that when I become aware of my mistakes, I will often recall having had them pointed out to me repeatedly two or three years earlier by many practitioners and even ordinary people. However, because I was unable to clearly recognize the mistakes, I could not gracefully accept their criticism.

In fact, whether or not we notice our omissions is not the main point here. What is most important is that we should be able to truly act from the basis of the Fa and constantly look inward to find our attachments. If we indeed find that particular attachment, we must let it go. But if we really do not have it or are unable to realize it at the moment, what should we do? We should continue to look inward. And the next step? We should next focus on our reactions to the criticism. Did we treat it with an everyday person's state of mind? Or did we keep a calm mind and view it based on the Fa? If we treated the criticism with human notions, no matter how well we hide our disapproval, it is nevertheless wrong and we should change it.

Now let us talk about the practitioner who pointed out the mistake. When we see other practitioner's faults or omissions, we should first look inside ourselves instead of reproaching them. What is our mentality in our reaction to other's faults? When pointing out their mistakes, are we doing it based on the Fa? Does the language we employ meet the standards of Dafa? Can others bear it? Are they able to accept it positively? Teacher has already made these considerations evident in his lectures. The means we use in pointing out other practitioner's mistakes are easily observed, yet the bases for our doing so are often neglected. Are we standing from the perspective of Dafa, using compassion and a firm understanding of Fa-rectification to help our fellow practitioners quickly improve? When this is the case, they will not be persecuted by the evil and no losses will be brought to Dafa. Conversely, are we just insensitively pointing out other's insufficiencies as a matter of fact? If we have such a mentality, it is no wonder that words like, "Why was she captured? She should really look inward," come out of our mouths so carelessly. By saying this, we are actually accepting the arrangements of the old forces. This also means that Dafa practitioners as a whole are still unable to negate those arrangements. When we say things like this, is our mindset on the Fa? Do we meet the standards of the Fa-rectification? Only when we look inward and correct our mentalities based on the standards of the Fa and of Fa-rectification can we truly help fellow practitioners make progress in cultivation, and can we reduce potential losses to Dafa practitioners, to Dafa, and to Dafa work.

When the conflict between my fellow practitioners arose, I felt miserable seeing that both sides were unable to look inward. Hence I chose to remain silent and to just let things happen naturally. As a result, a practitioner was persecuted and our Fa-rectification work suffered a loss. If I had viewed all of this from the standpoint of the Fa and of Fa-rectification, reminding them that if they don't look inward they will be used by the old forces, then maybe this persecution would not have existed. Therefore I was wrong too.

(Clearwisdom.net) For a long time, I was puzzled by sentimentality and could not escape from it. Because of my attachment to sentimentality, I had the attachment to sexual desire, which tortured me and made me feel disappointed in myself as well as unworthy of Teacher's salvation. Once such desire came up, I could only blame myself and did dare not to think about Teacher or think of myself as a Dafa practitioner.

One day in my dream, I was going through a test of sexual desire. Even though I did nothing bad in the dream, I felt I did not do well when I woke up because I did not remember I was a Dafa practitioner in the dream. From the beginning of my cultivation, the human feeling of shame had confined me. But on that day, I suddenly thought of a question: why did I not think of myself as a Dafa practitioner while going through this test?

A few days later, when the desire came up again to interfere with me, I tried to tell myself, "I am a Falun Dafa practitioner." When I was trying to say those words silently to myself, I felt it so difficult to complete the whole sentence even though it was only a few words long. I felt like I had to break through a very thick layer which was trying to stop me from doing so and make me give up such thoughts. But I still insisted and finished the sentence and started to repeat it the second time and third time. In the beginning, it was very difficult to finish the sentence and the voice in my mind was very weak too. But after the 4^th and 5^th time, I clearly felt that the sentence was coming from the deepest part of my life and it generated great power. Although I could not see it, I felt the sentence illuminate all my dimensions and meanwhile a dark and evil matter quickly was dispersed and dissolved under the illumination.

One week later, I again recited the paragraph in the section called "Demonic Interference in Cultivation" in Zhuan Falun:

As long as you regard yourself as a practitioner, you will remember it right away and be able to restrain yourself, and you will then be able to pass this test... This practitioner's xinxing had improved very quickly. At that point, he became alarmed right away. The first thought that came to his mind was: "I'm not an ordinary person. I'm a practitioner. You shouldn't treat me this way, for I'm a Falun Dafa practitioner." Once this thought emerged, everything suddenly disappeared since they were all transformed anyway. Then Buddha Amitabha and Lao Zi showed up again.

Actually Teacher already told me in the Fa how to deal with this kind of situation. It was just that I was too deluded and put too much emphasis on the superficial meaning of the two words "dream" and "meditation" when Teacher said,

"If your ability of ding is not adequate, it will appear in your dreams during sleep. While you are sleeping or sitting in meditation, it will suddenly show up."

I forgot that everything in human society is also just like a dream.

When I was reciting the section, "Your Mind Must Be Right," Teacher again hinted to me:

What's not a right mind? It refers to a person's inability to always treat himself as a practitioner...What I just addressed are some problems resulting from practitioners' inability to conduct themselves properly; that is, those problems are caused by an incorrect mind. It is beneficial that we point them out and let everyone know what to do and how to distinguish them so that problems will not occur in the future. Though I did not overemphasize what I just said, everyone should be sure to pay attention to it because problems usually arise over this issue, and they normally surface here. Cultivation practice is extremely arduous and very serious. If you are being careless for a moment, you may stumble and become ruined at once. Therefore, one's mind must be right.

After that, every time when I encounter such a test, I always immediately think, "I am a cultivator. You can't treat me like this. I am a Falun Gong practitioner." Every time I say this, I feel strong energy pervading from inside out, and the dark elements disappear right away and are unable to affect me at all.

(Clearwisdom.net) I got to know a restaurant owner by chance. One day he was short of manpower, so I offered to help him. He was very grateful and asked me to help at the front desk welcoming customers and collecting money. At the end of the day, the gross income for that day was 2.3 times the average daily turnover since he had opened the restaurant. He was so happy that he decided to hire me as a formal employee. I thus used the opportunity to clarify the truth to customers. At least 400 people had learned the truth of Falun Gong from me. I also distributed over 200 copies of truth-clarification materials. The boss and two employees also read Zhuan Falun.

Later I planned to go out of town to clarify the truth. When I told the boss I wanted to quit the job, he said to me, "I will not hire anyone else. I'll wait for you to come back to work here again." After I returned, he told me, "From now on, I'll hand over the management and operation of the restaurant to you. Please take care of everything, including food purchases and money collection. You may keep the money collected everyday with you. It is fine to turn in the money to me once in several days. If you have any flyers or CDs, give them to me and I'll hand them out for you."

The prices this boss set were a bit high, so I lowered them and at the same time improved the quality of the food. Therefore, the revenue increased day by day. More and more people came to eat, and more and more people got to know the truth of Falun Gong.

I tended to say different things to different people while clarifying the truth. For instance, I often helped customers order food based on their tastes and health status, not on the profit margin each dish could bring to the restaurant. My compassionate heart moved many customers. It was then natural for me to tell them that I am a Dafa disciple. I continued by clarifying the truth to them. Some were stunned by the truth; some cursed at Jiang for launching the persecution; some had great admiration for the strong willpower of Dafa practitioners, and some showed great respect for our Teacher.

Once I clarified the truth to three policemen. One of them said something bad about our Teacher. I rushed to cover his mouth and told him the principle that good will be rewarded with good, and evil with evil.

One week later the policeman came again and I received him with enthusiasm. I served food to him and also remembered to put a bottle of hot pepper oil (he uses it with every meal) in front of him. However, he pushed the oil back to me, saying "Please give it to others. I do not need it today." I said, "You quit eating it?" He replied in a low voice, "I developed blisters in my mouth for no reason. Tell me, do you think this is because I said some bad things the other day?" I nodded in agreement. He finally came to believe retribution for bad deeds and understand the truth of Falun Gong. I said, "It's never too late to come to know the truth. We do not have hatred. All we have is compassion. From now on, please tell everyone you meet that Falun Dafa is a righteous Way, and practitioners are being persecuted." He nodded.

After several months of work, the boss gave me very high praise for my performance. I was not attached to the compliments. What was more important was that so many people had come to know the truth. Later I gave all the money I earned to the material production site to make more truth-clarification materials.

The boss once said to me, "My brother and brother-in-law both work in the police department. I will tell them that 99.9% of people practicing Falun Gong are good people. The other 0.1% of practitioners includes people like me, who have just started to learn. But I believe I will become a better person."

I know a Dafa practitioner who makes a living by collecting garbage. She really wants to follow Master to rectify the Fa, clarify the truth, and save sentient beings, but she has been unable to find Dafa material to distribute.

One day she found some books that had been discarded, and discovered a Dafa flyer inside the book. So she put it up somewhere. She now looks carefully whenever she comes across books that were discarded. Whenever she runs across truth-clarifying materials, she posts them. She is walking her own path of helping with the Fa-rectification.

One time she saw a woman tearing down Dafa flyers posted on a wall. She immediately went up, stopped her and restored the part that was torn off. At that time, many people walked up. She said, "There are over 60 countries in the world that have Falun Gong practitioners. Only Jiang Zemin in China is against it and persecutes Dafa practitioners. What could be wrong with letting people know about his bad deeds?" The lady who tore the material down lowered her head and turned red from shame.

Another time she saw an elementary student tearing down a Dafa flyer. She hurried up and said to the poor student, "This flyer is to let people know the truth and to help them become better. Maybe you should read it before tearing it down." That student lowered his head and murmured, "It was our teacher who told us to tear them down wherever we see them." After she heard this, she really felt sorry for the teacher. He was not only cheated but also got the kids involved.

She was so calm when she told me these stories. I feel that she is the kind of person that Master mentioned who is very simple but yet is an outstanding Dafa practitioner. She often makes Dafa truth-clarifying materials herself and delivers them to the village people's homes. Many people know, "Truthfulness, Benevolence and Forbearance" and they learn that Falun Dafa is good from her efforts.

(Clearwisdom.net) Nowadays, more and more Chinese people are taking trips to Europe. Even in winter, there is a constant stream of Chinese visitors to France. As the truth about Falun Gong and the persecution spreads more widely and deeply around the world and in China itself, many Chinese people are reconsidering their opinion of Falun Gong. As they begin to see through the Jiang regime's lies, people have been able to think over the persecution and have a proper understanding about Dafa.

Practitioners often meet people who know the facts and say things like "Falun Dafa is good. Long live Falun Gong! "I wish you success. "I want to hear more about Falun Gong. Is there any material that differs from what I already have? There are also many people who want to learn Falun Gong.

On one occasion, a few practitioners came across a bus-load of tourists. One of them said, "We all want to learn, but we can't find it in China.

Some practitioners replied, "There are many people practicing Falun Gong in China. You will find it as long as you have that heart to learn. Not only does Falun Gong make people healthy, but it is also beneficial to the spirit. It can enlarge your capacity for tolerance.

Many people said, "We all want to learn! They told us frequently, "You have been working so hard. I hope you don't feel tired.

Practitioners told them in return, "We are willing to do so, no matter how much we have done. We will come again and again!

It was not uncommon to run into Chinese delegations of senior officials. When they rejected truth clarification materials, practitioners would tell them that, "There is a Global trial for Jiang Zemin. Good and evil will get their just rewards. The self-immolation at Tiananmen Square is a fake. It is good luck that you have the chance to learn the facts. Some of them gave a smile of understanding even though they did not say anything.

On one occasion, some Chinese tourists said, "We are all government officials. We feel angry but don't dare to speak out. If we take Falun Gong materials, we will be influenced. Please do not resent us. We have to follow the government. Don't be misled or bothered by our cold facial expressions. We know the situation in China is very cruel. It is not hard to imagine. Thank you very much, and we wish you happiness and peacefulness.

Many tour guides felt sympathetic towards us after realicing the facts. Some spoke to us in a low tone, "Hurry up, give a copy to every one of them.

On another occasion, a tour guide was heard to tell members of his group, "The more you listen, the more you benefit. Many members took materials after listening to him.

In addition to asking members of his tour group to read the materials, some tour guides helped to distribute materials to the Chinese visitors in other tour groups. Practitioners told them, "What you did is of boundless kindness and merit because the good and the evil will receive justice. They nodded their heads without a smile.

One practitioner also noticed that some tour guides are very quick-witted. When many people in their tour groups didn't understand the contents of the truth materials, they would purposely ask these people to wait for the bus at the place where Dafa practitioners distribute materials. This has provided them with sufficient time to exchange opinions with Dafa practitioners.

A western Dafa practitioner gave birth not so long ago. She persisted to clarify the facts to the Chinese tourists at the tourist's spots, carrying her two month-old baby. Whenever Chinese tourists passed by, she would say, "Please remember Falun Dafa is good! Her upright voice affected many of the tourists. Many Chinese tourists followed her and said "Falun Dafa is good. They were moved by the faithful and unyielding spirit of this practitioner, and wanted to take a picture with her. In the past she could say only "Falun Dafa is good in Chinese. In order to clarify the truth more efficiently, she carried a sheet of paper in her pocket with Chinese characters and phonetic transcriptions written on it. Whenever she had time, she would take it out and read it aloud. She has already learned how to speak many sentences in Chinese. She told me that she did not know Chinese three months ago. But she has been blessed with the wisdom so that she could learn quickly.

Practitioners understand that it is Dafa which opens our wisdom and capabilities for clarifying the facts. The following are several conversations made between practitioners and Chinese tourists.

Dafa practitioner: "How are you? Here are free materials in Chinese. Jiang Zemin is being sued overseas because of persecuting Falun Gong. A young male tourist said, "I am afraid. I don't want to hear it. The Dafa practitioner said solemnly, "You are a man. What are you afraid of? Afterwards, many people took the materials with them.

Dafa practitioner: "In China, there are many Falun Gong practitioners the same age as us. They are imprisoned simply because they cultivate themselves to become good people. They have parents and children at home, but find no way to care for them. Please pay attention to them, and say a just word for Falun Gong. Many people were moved to tears.

Tourist: "We don't want to see it. It is all falsified. Dafa disciple: "Take a look, and you will know! How can you make a judgment based on a unilateral statement? In the Cultural Revolution, my father was framed and called an anti-revolutionary. There are more than sixty countries around the world that welcome Falun Gong. Nobody can destroy Falun Gong. The tourist accepted the materials.

We also came across visitors from Master Li's hometown.

Dafa practitioner: "Our Master is very righteous. Tourist: "He has been very righteous ever since childhood. I also want to learn Falun Gong. Tourist: "I am not as great as your Master. Another visitor from Master's hometown wanted to invite us for a meal.

Many of the people who came from Master Li's hometown showed boundless respect when they talked about Master. A person who used to be associated with the same regiment as Master expressed sincere gratefulness to practitioners when he received the materials. He stood to attention and saluted Dafa disciples. We knew he was expressing his respect to our Master.

We also encountered a fellow practitioner from China. When she saw us, she was so happy - as though she had been long-separated from family members. She told us the situation in China was getting better. We truly sensed that our hearts were linked to fellow practitioners in China even though we were far apart.

I am a resident of Daqing City. Although I do not practice Falun Gong, I cannot understand why Falun Gong practitioners are persecuted. I know some people who practice Falun Gong. They are indeed good people. They have become healthier through doing the exercises. By following the principles of Truth, Compassion, and Tolerance, they no longer argue over personal loss or gains. With higher standards of morality, they often help other people.

Public security is very poor in Daqing City. I feel bad that the police force is not used to reduce crime, but instead it is squandered on the persecution of Falun Gong. Furthermore, Daqing police are very aggressive in suppressing Falun Gong. I heard that the National Security Bureau of Daqing City only targets Falun Gong.

I often read the truth-clarification materials distributed by Falun Gong practitioners. So far, 24 Falun Gong practitioners in Daqing City have died as a result of the persecution. This number makes Daqing rank second within our province, right after Harbin City, where 27 practitioners have been killed due to the persecution. Actually, this number is the highest nationwide for a district city. I was shocked by the police's brutality which includes sexual abuse, freezing, piercing with bamboo needles, burning people alive, forced sitting on an iron chair for a long time, tying and stretching on a "dead man's bed" (a kind of torture where a special bed is used to tie practitioners to). The sad thing is that these tortures are real! After observing Falun Gong practitioners for a few years, you should know what kind of people they are.

Falun Gong practitioners have been deprived of their personal freedom, and they don't have the freedom of belief granted by our constitution. They have even been deprived of the right to speak the truth. Why are these good people treated so badly?

Falun Gong can indeed improve people's minds. If everyone in our society were like them, that is, if there were no greed, no stealing, no lying and no harming of others, our country would surely be prosperous and strong! Falun Gong practitioners are just like our family members, and everything they do is just to let us know the truth so we can stop doing bad deeds. All they ask is a peaceful practice environment. As a police officer, if you do not protect their basic human rights, but instead mistreat and suppress them, don't you feel ashamed?

You should be doing good deeds for society. Please fulfill the responsibility of a police officer and act according to your conscience!

I have owned a food shop for five years now.

Teacher has said:

"Every Falun Gong practitioner is a member of society, and each has his own job or career. It's only that they go to the park to do Falun Gong exercises for half an hour or an hour every morning, and then they go to work" ("Some Thoughts of Mine").

With Master's teachings in mind, I have kept my shop in fairly good working order while still persisting with group Fa study at night and practice of the exercises in the morning together with a fellow Dafa practitioner. During the day we work as usual, and we frequently exchange our cultivation experiences when we have free time. In this way we have established a stable truth-clarification environment under the compassionate protection of Teacher.

I have tried to improve the effects of my efforts to clarify the truth and save sentient beings by paying special attention to the state of mind of the people with whom I interact. I send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the elements in their minds that prevent them from understanding the truth of Dafa, and through this I have been successful in enabling them to enlighten. Teacher has said:

"It's hard to save people nowadays. You have to explain things to them by following the logic of their attachments. For the sake of saving them, don't create any obstacles for them." ("Touring North America to Teach the Fa")

"Every person you come into contact with in society is someone to clarify the truth to, and what's manifest in clarifying the truth is Dafa disciples' mercy and their salvation of the world's people." ("To All Students at the Nordic Fa Conference")

I have clarified the truth at every opportunity. Usually I chat for a while with customers before clarifying the truth to them. In this way they are more compelled to believe me and, most important of all, I find a suitable starting point for truth-clarification.

Once I chatted with a retired army veteran. In the process of talking to her I discovered that she did not know much about Falun Gong. She told me that all of her family members were serving in the army, except for her mother. One day her father returned home from a conference, with the news that China was going to launch an attack on Taiwan, and that all who served in the army were to be signed up, but her mother didn't want her family to be signed up. I said to her, "That is because your mother doesn't want to part with you, right?" "Yes!" she exclaimed. I took the opportunity to say, "It seems that the Taiwan issue cannot be solved without a war, but the people will suffer if a war begins." "Yes, that's right," she said. I said, "You see the Falun Gong practitioners are trying to solve their problems through peacefully appealing, isn't that righteous? But the authorities, instead of finding a solution, simply punish them by arresting and beating them, and sentencing them to ¡®re-education through labor' terms, even though their activities are legal. Isn't belief a personal freedom, and isn't appealing an individual right?" She said, "In the army, every person was forced to express hatred towards Falun Gong and write guarantee statements vowing not to practice Falun Gong. Even my mother, an ignorant farmer, was also forced to do that. She was so busy with the household all the time that she didn't know at all what Falun Gong is! It's so terrible and ridiculous!" I continued, "Right, Jiang Zemin is trying to eliminate those who are against him through a national campaign of terror. The self-immolation incident* in Tiananmen Square was fabricated by him." Step-by-step I told her the truth of the self-immolation incident. Hearing this, she angrily denounced Jiang's regime. In the end I said to her, "You can tell all this to your mother and other family members when you are home." She wholeheartedly agreed with me.

I didn't give up on any of the people who I had karmic relationships with. One day, a lady bought 3 kilos of food from my shop. After a while she came back again and said that the food was short by half a kilo, but I didn't compensate her because the other two fellow practitioners witnessed that I had given her the correct amount. When I saw her again, I took the chance to greet her. But she still insisted that I had cut her order that day. I said to her, "I am not attached to that small amount of food, but I am afraid of losing a friend. I will send you a half-kilo in a couple of days, as soon as I produce the food." She was very happy to hear that. In the end, her mind was balanced when I sent her the food. Now she enjoys chatting with me each time she passes by my shop. She even gladly accepted Zhuan Falun when I gave it to her. In the past few years, more than twenty people have obtained Dafa or read Zhuan Falun and listened to Teacher's lectures, and my shop has become well known. More and more people have come to my shop to buy food and they have become aware of my practice of Falun Gong. One day, a thirty-year-old lady came to my shop and asked me to teach her the Falun Gong exercises. She already had the book Zhuan Falun, so I told her to read the book first and gave her a VCD containing the exercise instructions. Now she understands the importance of searching inward when encountering problems, and she is much healthier than before. She usually comes to my shop to exchange cultivation experiences with me or asks for experience-sharing and truth-clarification materials.

One day a former practitioner who had enlightened along an evil path came to my shop. Her words caused me to be a little angry, but with the thought that I should not be driven to anger, I promptly adjusted my mind and said to her, "I know a story about a group of golden fish who enjoyed swimming and playing along the bank of a river. Among them was one who thought herself to be much more beautiful than all the others. She was so happy about this thought that she would jump out of the water in excitement. One day, the conceited beautiful fish jumped so high that she threw herself onto the bank. Without her friends by her side, she struggled on the bank and was unable to return to the water. At this crucial moment, the friends whom she thought to be ugly helped her return to the river. Her life was saved and she came back to her friends." Hearing this story, the practitioner suddenly realized her problem. After that, she went back to her old group of fellow practitioners to exchange ideas and borrow books to read. Now she often comes to my shop and talks with me about cultivation experiences. Fellow practitioners told me, "She realized her attachments in the end. Your food shop is playing a very important role." I said, "It is arranged by Teacher."

In my continuous and penetrating truth-clarification, I see in the eyes of sentient beings that they are longing to be saved. I will not disappoint the compassionate salvation of Teacher and the hopes that sentient beings have placed on me. I will cherish my time and do even better and better.

Mr. Lizhi He and His Wife

(Clearwisdom.net) After three and a half years of unlawful imprisonment, on January 20, Mr. Zhili He was released from Qianjin Prison, in Tianjin. After talking with his wife in Canada over the phone, he has been returned to his hometown in Gansu Province. Mr. He is a senior engineer at the Practice Qualification and Registration Center of PRC Ministry of Construction, and a recipient of National Outstanding Engineer Design Gold Medal.

Mr. He is a well respected structural engineer, and he has made a lot of contributions to the nation. He has received more than ten awards from the Nation and Ministry of Construction. He is a very mild, honest and kind person.

Mr. He and his wife started to practice Falun Dafa in 1995. Since the Jiang regime started to persecute Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, many practitioners have been monitored and their phones have been tapped. Mr. He was also illegally imprisoned twice for safeguarding his own human rights and his belief in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance."

The first time was on March 4, 2000. At that time, he went to Tiananmen Square looking for his wife Li Zhang who went to see Congress representatives to present a Falun Gong truth-clarifying letter. At Tiananmen Square, a plainclothes police officer pretended to be Falun Gong practitioner and asked him if he practices Falun Gong. He said "yes", he was then arrested, charged with "disturbing social stability" and was unlawfully detained for 15 days.

The second time was on July 21, 2000, when he was arrested for mailing Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials to his friends. He was taken away from his work unit and his home was searched. In December 2000 he was unlawfully sentenced to three and half years in prison by Haidian District Court in Beijing. Just before his arrest, Mr. He had received a visa to become a permanent resident in Canada. He was unable to come to Canada as he was unlawfully imprisoned.

In the past years since his arrest, his plight has attracted a lot attention from all walks of life in Canada. In June 2002, Amnesty International Canada announced a campaign to secure his release. Amnesty International recognized Mr. He as a prisoner of conscience and called on the Chinese government to unconditionally release him.

Before the Canadian Prime Minister's visit to China last year, the Global Campaign to Rescue Falun Gong Practitioners Canada Chapter launched a "Rescue Our Family Members" postcard signing campaign. In just a few months, they collected more 50,000 signatures and sent them to the Prime Minister's office. Canadian practitioners also initiated a Bicycle Tour from Toronto to Ottawa in order to raise awareness of the persecution of Falun Gong.

Since Mr. He's arrest, overseas Falun Gong practitioners, the Canadian Government including its Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Canadian Embassy to Beijing, Members of Parliament, and many non-government organizations and individuals have helped to rescue him.

According to a VOA report on August 25, 2002, the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Graham brought forth the Falun Gong issue to the Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan at the meeting of foreign ministers from Eastern Allied Countries. In October, 2002, Canadian Parliament unanimously passed an motion Requesting the Release of 13 Falun Gong Practitioners' Family Members, among them was Zhili He.

She said, "A few days ago, I called the US Consulate in Shanghai and was told that Charles Lee was still forced to receive brainwashing. US Consulate official visited Charles on January 15 and found that the jail not only tried to brainwash him, forced him to attend brainwash sessions and forced him to make shoes in a factory of the jail."

She said, "Brainwashing actually forces one to give up his conscience and belief. For a Falun Gong practitioner, being brainwashed means giving up belief in Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance and giving up behaving as a good person. It is horrible to transform a good person to a bad man. Charles Lee is a US citizen and suffers such severe persecution. Ms. Shen Shumin, a Falun Gong practitioner who was persecuted in China and rescued to US later, said, "I come to the US to be with my son. I can practice Falun Gong freely. I am so happy. But I cannot care only about me when I think of fellow practitioners in China, who are being either imprisoned in labor camps or mental hospitals, or forced to stay away from home for persisting in belief in Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance. So I come here today with my husband and son to appeal and demand Jiang's regime to stop the persecution of Falun Gong and immediately release Charles Lee."

Mr. Jeffrey Shirtleft, Amnesty International County of San Mateo, California called us specially after learning our activity, "I always stand with you and completely support you. I believe that we work together to have more power and that we will definitely stop the evil persecution. Charles Li will soon be released."

We and Charles Li's family and friends hope more people with conscience and justice to help stop Jiang regime's persecution of Falun Gong practitioner and rescue Charles Li back to US as early as possible.

(Clearwisdom.net) Three Tsinghua University graduates - Yu Chao, Wang Weiyu and Chu Tong - will be illegally prosecuted at the Chaoyang District Court in Beijing. Many Tsinghua University alumni in Europe are old classmates or friends of theirs. This case has aroused a lot of attention from the Chinese community in Europe.

Yu Chao, Wang Weiyu and Chu Tong are all talented professionals. They represent the Chinese intellects of the new generation. Before the persecution of Falun Gong, Yu Chao was a senior engineer working for AMP, an American company. He was in charge of AMP's technical training of customers in China. Chu Tong was a lecturer in the Department of Electronics of Tsinghua University. Yu Chao and Chu Tong are married. Their son, Hu Hu, lost parental care when he was six years old. Wang Weiyu is an outstanding student and student cadre in Tsinghua University. That evening, Falun Gong practitioners will hold an exercise demonstration at the Eiffel Tower, destination of the parade. This will be followed by a candlelight vigil for practitioners who are being persecuted in China, and at the same time tell people of the continued suppression of Falun Gong by the Chinese government.

Falun Gong practitioners stated that Falun Gong is a form of cultivation practice, yet the Chinese government labels it as an undesirable group and has banned their gatherings. The government's pressure has extended overseas, as they use the Chinese embassies to suppress Falun Gong activities outside China.

Falun Gong practitioners emphasized that Falun Gong is not against the Chinese government. What they oppose is the defamation of Falun Gong by Communist Party's former president Jiang Zemin. They hope the Chinese government will respect human rights and give Falun Gong freedom to grow and hold activities.

When being asked whether they plan to hold protest activities during Chinese president Hu Jintao's visit to France next week, the Falun Gong practitioners did not answer directly. They only said that they hope Hu Jintao can get Falun Gong's message.

With less than a week from Hu Jintao's visit to France, posters in Chinese and French saying "Happy Spring Festival" have been set up all around downtown Paris. The background illustrations of these posters show the Eiffel Tower. It is the fist Chinese New Year parade to be held along the Champs-Elys¨¦es. One would expect it to be spectacular. It is one thing for the U.S. government to sit by idly as thousands of Chinese are tortured for following the spiritual path of Falun Gong. That's benign neglect and simply repugnant. But it's disgusting when the State Department takes on the responsibility of defending the People's Republic's great torturer and murderer Jiang Zemin in a federal court in Illinois.

Thousands of Chinese have been tortured for practicing Falun Gong. It is impossible to know how many. China, for all its economic inclinations toward capitalism, is a closed society, a dictatorship that routinely tramples basic human rights.

Terri Marsh, an attorney for Falun Gong, filed a lawsuit against Jiang as the persecutor of Falun Gong followers. State Department attorneys argued Jiang was immune to such a lawsuit because he serves as a head of state. A federal judge agreed and dismissed the case.

Tuesday Marsh filed an appeal with the 7th District Court of Appeals in Illinois. She said in part: "To say or speak the words 'Compassion, Tolerance, and Truthfulness' [the fundamental teaching of Falun Gong] is a crime in China, which brings up to 18 years of jail time, murder by torture, and forms of torture, which not even the most evil of minds could conceive. Torture of infants, young mothers, young children, the elderly, the strong and able. No one is excluded."

There is no reason for optimism. It's not likely the appeals court will take the case. U.S. foreign policy takes little note of China's human rights abuses.

The Falun Gong have been persecuted in China since 1999. It was then that the movement had grown to an estimated 100 million Chinese, which was perhaps twice the number of people in the Communist Party. Jiang considered the movement's astonishing growth as a threat. He outlawed anyone who followed it.

The Chinese government contends the Falun Gong is [slanderous words omitted]. It has been banned "to protect the basic human rights and freedom of the Chinese system and to uphold its constitution and laws." It is an absurd accusation.

Falun Gong founder Li Hongzhi, appeared on television this week. He said China's leaders "couldn't tolerate so many people practicing Falun Gong. It's a form of jealousy. This jealousy led to the oppression." Li was correct in naming Jiang as "the most evil person in China. The whole world can see his stupidity, his cruelty."

Falun Gong is a spiritual pursuit. It is not a religion or a cult. It offers a spiritual prescription for life and poses no political threat to any government. Its practitioners are apolitical. However, they are also resolute and will continue to suffer incredible torture and abuse in fighting for their rights.

"This Tuesday, Falun Gong practitioners and their attorney Mr. David Matas held a press conference on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. They requested that the Canadian government hold those Chinese officials that persecuted Falun Gong accountable, in keeping with Canada's Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes Program (CAHWCP). Human rights attorney David Matas announced that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has placed the case on file. Those suspected of persecution crimes against Falun Gong in China will be denied entry into Canada. If they are discovered entering Canada illegally, RCMP will immediately launch an investigation and possibly take legal action."

"Mr. Matas reported that practitioners have submitted incriminating documents to RCMP, the Department of Justice, Canada's Attorney General, and Citizenship and Immigration Canada. Earlier, Canadian Falun Gong practitioners and representatives of the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong had submitted a list of 15 persons, including former president of China, Jiang Zemin, to the department in charge of Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes in RCMP. More names were submitted to RCMP on Tuesday."

"Mr. Matas suggested that Canada not allow entry into the country for those who persecuted Falun Gong. He noted that practitioners had submitted criminal documentation for 45 participants in the persecution against Falun Gong. He held that the legal evidence and materials prepared were very strong, including those incriminating Jiang Zemin,".

"Canada's Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes Program began in the mid-1980's to bring World War II war criminals to justice. It was later expanded to include other war crimes, and crimes against humanity. According to this program, Canada will not issue visas to war criminals or those who commit crimes against humanity. Those who have entered Canada illegally will be deported or face criminal prosecution."

(Clearwisdom.net) While Chinese families are gathering together to celebrate the Chinese new year, practitioners in Melbourne just heard about Ms. Tang Meijun, a Chongqing Falun Gong practitioner, persecuted to death in China. On the first day of the Chinese new year (January 22, 2004), dozens of practitioners gathered in front of the Chinese Consulate in Melbourne to commemorate Ms. Tang and protest Jiang's persecution of Falun Gong. Practitioners prepared a white banner with the words "Commemorate Chongqing Falun Gong practitioner Tang Meijun who was persecuted to death" in black.

Ms. Tang Meijun,49 years old, was an operator from the Railway Communications Company of the Chongqing Railway Branch Bureau. During a two-year term of forced labor, she was subjected to both physical and mental torture. In 2003, she was released on bail for medical treatment. On December 10, 2003, she was arrested while distributing truth-clarifying materials. On December 30, she died in the Maojia Forced Labor Camp.

A spokesman said, "Today we come her to commemorate Ms. Tang Junmei, another Falun Gong practitioner who has been persecuted to death in China. While Chinese are celebrating the Chinese new year, we feel very sad about her death." He explained that Ms. Tang was murdered simply for telling her fellow Chinese the truth of Falun Gong and the persecution. He said Ms. Tang chose to clarify truth to people because all the media in China are controlled by the government and have been used to spread the Jiang regime's lies to slander Falun Gong and deceive the public. It is a very sad thing for any family to lose loved ones. The Chinese Government should immediately stop the persecution of Falun Gong and bring the prime criminal Jiang Zemin and the murderers to justice.

Recently, Jilin University officials had organized students to hold a "signing and avowing ceremony." They forced the students to defame Dafa. Those students who refused to sign a certain document were to be expelled. So far, seven or eight students have been expelled already. This action by officials at Jilin University is openly depriving citizens of their inviolable freedom of belief and their right to an education as endowed by the Chinese Constitution.

Dafa practitioner Xie Yunhuan from Jidong County was studying in Japan. He came back to China in 2000 to appeal for Falun Gong and was later sentenced to ten years of imprisonment. He is now incarcerated at the Mudanjiang Prison. All practitioners from Heilongjiang Province are concentrated there. When family members visit the practitioners, guards are constantly present, observing and listening. The visitors and practitioner are not allowed to talk freely. Monitors have also been installed. Inside sources report that several Dafa practitioners have been tortured there and then died.

By the end of 2003, the government of Huan County, Qingyang City had released a new document, No.141, (2003) to slander Falun Dafa.

The county government issued the document to all towns, villages and direct units under it. The document contains language that stipulates all the towns, all villages and direct units have to participate in this campaign. They will train the responsible people in the countryside, especially the leaders of villages, and also of middle schools and primary schools. This is another campaign of persecution that the Jiang regime is conducting to spread defamatory propaganda to people in the countryside and poison the minds of the people living in countryside who don't have a high education.

The National Security Team/Dalian City's Police Department is located at 15 Bailan Street, Zhongshan Square South, Dalian City. It is comprised of policemen transferred from districts inside and outside of Dalian City. They are plainclothes policemen and use cell phones to communicate with each other. They tap practitioners' phones, monitor, follow and arrest them, destroy Dafa materials production sites. At present, several Dafa materials production centers have been destroyed. Much equipment, cash and literature have been confiscated and numerous Dafa practitioners are being arrested. Further details are being investigated.

Authorities from the Dagang District often unduly arrest Dafa practitioners. According to known statistics, eight Dafa practitioners had been arrested in 2003. Now the enforcers of Jiang's orders even issued a vicious decree that offers a 10,000 Yuan reward [500 Yuan is the average monthly salary for urban workers in China] to whoever reports Dafa practitioners to police. This vicious order has made some people to strengthen surveillance and patrols against Falun Gong practitioners, due to the high reward. Even some people who were kind in the past and knew the facts about Falun Dafa were enticed by this high reward.

Another inside scoop: recently, the authorities have allocated money to change cell phone numbers and stationary phone numbers for those personnel in the police and "610 Office*" system who have murdered practitioners and actively persecuted Falun Gong. They shifted people around in the police system so as to prevent Dafa practitioners from locating them, publishing their information on the internet and exposing their crimes to the international community.. On the evening of December 31, 2003, Dagang District's police system converted almost all officers into plainclothes agents. They claimed this to be a"Highest State of Alert." We have heard that this state of alert will be kept in effect indefinitely.

During the evening of September 17, 2003, policemen from Renhe District's Police Station arrested Dafa practitioner Yu Chuancheng from Panzhihua City who was released within two months. On December 1, 2003, policemen from Renhe District's Police Station again duped the practitioner to come to the police station with the excuse of some office procedure. They then sent Yu Chuancheng immediately to the Nanmusi Forced Labor Camp. We heard that Yu Chuancheng was ordered to report his whereabouts to the police in advance.

On November 23, 2003, the Tuchengzi Township Government issued a document, and set up a team to persecute Dafa practitioners.

Enforcers in this township government have been following Jiang's regime since July 20, 1999, to persecute Falun Gong practitioners and their family members. They don't allocate practitioners a farm field to work on or don't let them work their own fields. During the night of March 10, 2001, they sent 12 practitioners to Changyi District's Brainwashing Class, including two entire families so nobody could take care of their home and fields.

A 70-year-old villager, Ms. Chang Yueju from Wujiazi Village was sent to a brainwashing session for two months only because she practices Falun Dafa. Villager Hou Dagang and his family from Niesima Village were forced to leave home and live in exile. Ms. Zhao Qi, a 14-year-old student, clarified the truth of Falun Gong to her principal Jin Wen, but in the evening of March 10, 2001, she was forced to attend the Changyi District's Brainwashing session, together with her mother. Her principal and some village officials were responsible for forcing her into the brainwashing session. She has since been expelled from the school and was not allowed to take any exams.

News on January 1 2004: Practitioner Sun Qian, detained at Dehui City's Detention Center in Jilin Province, is now on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. To slander Falun Gong and deceive juveniles, much made-up information was edited into the fifth chapter of a text called "Advocating Science and Spreading Civilization" published by China Women's Publishing as advanced reading materials for juveniles.

The book is edited by persons from the National Juvenile Patriotic Reading Activities Editorial Committee, distributed by China Women's Publishing Co.

Since September 2003, Xingyi City's Police and Judiciary Committee in Guizhou City has closely followed orders from enforcers in the "610 Office." to force work units to cooperate with their persecution. The committee worked with officials from the work units to deceive the practitioners and make them go to brainwashing classes. These enforcers charge the work units 7,000 Yuan every month. The work units then pass the costs and expenses on to practitioners; each brainwashing session lasts two months. If the practitioner had not given up his Dafa practice by then, the brainwashing term gets extended by one month. If the practitioner still refuses to renounce his/her belief in Falun Dafa after three months of brainwashing, the brainwashing session organizers charge the practitioners work units huge amounts of money. In return the work units again pass on the expenses and costs to individual practitioners.

About twenty-two Falun Dafa practitioners are being detained at Mudanjiang City's Forced Labor Camp, Heilongjiang Province.

At 10:00 p.m. on January 2, 2004, policemen from Hengshui City and Zaoqiang County/ Hebei Province drove a jeep (IVECO) and three cars to Mr. Meng Xiaqun's home. They broke in, arrested Meng Xianqun and his wife and also ransacked his home At 12:00 a.m., they went to another place and arrested a practitioner along with a couple who owned the home. They stole a computer, cash and a deposit certificate. In an attempt to arrest more practitioners, they also broke into others' homes. The deed made many practitioners homeless in order to escape the persecution and avoid arrest.

Yuan Yongzhong, a "610 Office" enforcer from Guangdong Province's Police Department entrapped Wang Zishan with the excuse of buying insurance. Now Wang Zishan is detained in Division Five, 3rd. Someone reported 73-year-old Dafa practitioner Zhou Fengqun to police when he/she [gender unknown] was distributing Falun Gong truth-clarifying video CDs. As a result, the practitioner was captured and detained at Chendu City's Beizhan Police Precinct. Officers there took the opportunity to extort 5,000 Yuan from him before releasing him. [500Yuan is the average monthly income in urban areas of China] They claimed that, "The 5,000 Yuan is refundable as long as no similar problems crop up within three months." Half a year later, when Zhou Fengqun asked the policemen to return hi/her money, they made a lot of excuses but never did return the money.

Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Ying, about 40 years old, works for Laiwu City's Laigang Ironworks in Shandong Province. On the afternoon of December 29, 2003, Jiao Yuqi, chief of the Political and Security Section of the Yinshan Police Precinct (used to be the Laiwu City's Steel Company Police Precinct) arrested her and put her into the factory's security section. They suspected her of sending her mother some Dafa truth-clarifying materials and used that as an excuse for the unlawful arrest. After Li Ying was arrested, Jiao Yuqi led other persons and searched Li Ying's house but found nothing. It was reported that policemen stated that if Li Ying did not give up her belief before the Spring Festival, they would detain her for one month or send her to a forced labor camp.

Policemen in Tiajin City's Female Forced Labor Camp torment those Dafa practitioners who are steadfast in their belief in various ways. They did not allow practitioners to talk with each other or write to their families. They did not allow family members to visit practitioners. But, if some family wrote a letter to persuade practitioners to give up the Falun Gong practice, [the camp censors all mail and reads it first before passing it to the person for whom it is intended] police would force practitioners to read it; otherwise, they beat practitioners or punished them by forcing them to stand still for a long time. Practitioners are forced to pick beans on a daily basis for 18 to 20 hours; those younger than 50 years old have to unload the bags full of beans weighing 50 to 60 kg (approximately 130 lbs.) from the trucks.

When wardens did not have enough work to keep practitioners working until midnight, they still did not permit practitioners to sleep. They forced practitioners to "sit on small stools" until 1:00 a.m. Then the night shift warden would humiliate practitioners or punish them by forcing them to stand straight for a long time. Furthermore, lawless policemen even did not allow practitioner's families to go to work, but forced them to stay at the forced labor camp. They intended to threaten Dafa practitioners to give up their belief by cutting off their family's economic resources. When the incarcerated person's detention term expired, the policemen didn't release the practitioner; instead, they extended the detention terms without any legal procedure or cause. In order to force Dafa practitioners to give up their cultivation practice, policemen in the forced labor camp subjected the practitioners to all kinds of torture and abuse.

1. Recently, Suizhou City's "610 Office" in Hubei Province, in collusion with the leaders of the city's Civil Administration Bureau and practitioners' work units or residential administration committees are bringing money, gifts and a video camera to visit certain people. Their main targets were those who gave up practicing Falun Gong and embraced a wrong path (due to brutal torture and brainwashing). They also targeted those who gave in to their tormentors at labor camps but still read Falun Gong books and practice the exercises. They also visited several determined Falun Gong practitioners, but these practitioners rebuffed their fraudulent efforts and did not let them in.

2. In order to deceive people, the city's TV station broadcast the video of a few collaborators defaming Dafa. The officials wanted to further control the collaborators in an attempt to keep the "transform quota" and stop Dafa practitioners from clarifying the truth to local people. Many Dafa practitioners have already seen through their deceit.

On the evening of December 21, 2003, practitioners from Changchun City/Jilin Province hung over 60 banners around the city with inscriptions such as "Falun Dafa Is Good, ""Falun Dafa Is The Righteous Fa," "Falun Dafa Is Indestructible," "People Need Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" and "Global Coalition to Bring Jiang to Justice." These banners were hung on miscellaneous places such as trees, poles and clothes-lines. The banners were written in white characters on red cloth, thus making them very eye-catching.

1. On January 7, 2004, policemen from the No.1 Section of Changchun City's Police Department and from the former "610 Office*" arrested Ms. Xu Bin from Changchun City at her home. They committed an unlawful act with this deed. Prior to this incident, officers from the Luyuan Police Precinct often harassed Xu Bin by phone and by home visits. Most of these harassment attempts failed because Xu Bin rejected them with her righteous thoughts. After that, those officers from the Luyuan Police Precinct, in collusion with the No.1 Section of the City's Police Department, charged Ms. Xu Bin with fabricated crimes and arrested her. The policemen kept her in the basement of the city's police department and tortured her for four days. Afterwards she was transferred to the Shuanyang No.3 Detention Center. The last name of the policeman in charge of this case is Gao.

2. Currently some practitioners including Zhang Chunyu, Wang Juncheng, Liang Zhenxing, and Wang Fengcai were detained at the Jilin Prison and some practitioners were tortured on the "dead person's bed."**

Officers from every police department took turns to monitor and be in charge of Mudanjiang City's "610" Brainwashing Center in Heilongjiang Providence. Ever since Jiang Zemin had banned Falun Dafa on July 20, 1999, "610 Office" officers Yin Xiaofeng and Zhu Jiabin have colluded with local policemen and leaders in every work units to arrest Dafa practitioners. Many Dafa practitioners have been sentenced to forced labor and put into detention centers. Many were forced to lead homeless lives to avoid the persecution. In addition, policemen often harass and threaten practitioners' families.

Every practitioner in detention was forced to pay high "accommodation expenses," otherwise they could not be released. Sometimes these expenses would be deducted from the practitioners' workplaces, charging the employers for them, and then the employers would deduct these expense from the practitioners' wages. Many Dafa practitioners have been detained more than once.

On or around December 20, 2003, policemen arrested Dafa practitioners Mr. Zhang Ttianwei and Mr. Zhang Wentao from Zhaodong City/Heilongjiang Province put them into a criminal detention center. The detailed information is unclear.

The following message was written on a paper bag with money inside, "This money is a donation from five individual Dafa practitioners to help produce more truth-clarifying material." One of the five Dafa practitioners is close to 70 years old. His spouse, a non-practitioner, has been ill for a long time and must take medication daily. They live a simple life on small amounts of retirement income. Under these conditions, this practitioner had saved for a year and donated 100 Yuan [500 Yuan is the average monthly salary for urban workers in China] for making truth-clarifying materials. All the practitioners who accepted this donation were very touched

Police from Changchun City's Luyuan Police Precinct arrested practitioners Li Xiaogguang, Zou Jihua, Yan Huawei, Liu Jing and Jin Changlu. On October, 15, 2002, Changchun City People's Prosecutor tried those practitioners in the Chaoyang District Court. Their first trial at this court was last Monday. It is said two more trials would be held for those practitioners who have been interrogated under torture.

At about 9:40 a.m. on December 28, 2003, officers from Shanghai City's Changfeng Police Precinct arrested three practitioners who were taking a walk in Changfeng Park. The arrest attracted many people's attention. These policemen claimed that the three Falun Gong practitioners were practicing Falun Gong exercises in the park. Needless to say, whether they were practicing meditation exercises or not, the real issue is just what crimes were committed, even if the three practitioners were committing the Falun Gong exercises? Should friends not walk together just because they all practice Falun Gong? The freedom to practice one's belief and freedom of speech and freedom of association are all guaranteed rights in the Chinese constitution. Who is committing the real crime?

On December 23, 2003, my friend received a notice from Dalian City's Forced Labor Camp saying that on December 25, she can visit her husband in the labor camp. On the morning of December 25, she and her son went to the labor camp. After completing the necessary paperwork, they were asked to sign on a piece of paper that contained three statements against Falun Dafa. That means every visitor has to admit to those fabricated statements. Her son asked, "Is this a requirement from your superiors?" The official there said that it was an order from his superiors. As they did refused to sign it, the warden even refused to deliver some daily necessities the visitors brought to the practitioner who was being detained..

On July 17, 2001, practitioner Mr. Chen Gang was transferred to the Wuyuan Forced Labor Camp in Inner Mongolia. Due to his practicing the exercises on July 18th, policeman Wang Jinbiao beat him up and shocked him with an electric baton until his nose bled massively.

Practitioner Tian Fujin was also severely beaten and became bruised all over, only because he spoke loudly, "Falun Dafa is Good." Policeman Wang Jinbiao shocked him with an electric baton for a long time.

Practitioners Sha Fuyun and Sha Jinghua are residents of Qianguan Village/Dalianwan Town/Dalian City. On September 12, 2003, police broke into the home of Mr. Sha Fuyun and attempted to take him to a brainwashing class. Sha Fuyun managed to escape.

On September 15, 2003, because Dafa Practitioner Ms. Sha Jinghua would not sign the "guarantee statement," police broke into her home at lunch time, intending to illegally arrest her. Policemen forced her into the police vehicle and even did not give her time to put on her shoes. Nine people took part in the arrest, including local policemen Yu Jiajian, chief of the Security Brigade, and Wang Xiujian, the village head.

On December 29, 2003, Mr. Yang Shunfa, who had been detained at Miyi City's Detention Center, was subjected to a secret "trial." Other practitioners in the area got the news a day before the trial, but were denied access to the proceedings when attempting to enter the courtroom. At the beginning, Yang Shunfa's father, who does not practice Falun Dafa, mother and son were not even allowed to enter the courtroom. After the crowd condemned the court officials, the family members were finally allowed in.

Policemen arrested practitioner Li Hailong from Jixing Village/Huanxi Township/Chuanying District/Jilin City/Jilin Province two weeks ago. His current whereabouts are unknown.

In December 2003, a Dafa materials production center in Qiqihar City was destroyed. At least two elderly female practitioners were arrested.

Ms. Xu Guizhen is a practitioner from Nanchang City/Jiangxi Province. On October 9, 2003, while Xu Guizhen was distributing Dafa truth-clarifying flyers, enforcers from Xihu District's Police Precinct arrested her. She walked out of the detention center with the power of her righteous thoughts after a month of detention. On November 17, 2003, Cheng Zhijian from Luojia Town's Police Precinct arrested her again at the entrance to the Jiangnan Material Factory's Residential Committee near her home. Her whereabouts are currently unknown.

Han Mengjie, 40, was the deputy head of the Beigong Street Police Station, Weichengqu District of Weifang City, Shandong Province. Because of his "achievements" in following Jiang's regime to persecute Falun Dafa, he was promoted to be assistant head of a department of Weicheng Public Security Division. Soon after he started his new job, he went with his family on a trip to a water reservoir one day, and there he drowned.

When Han Mengjie was the head of Beigong Street Police Station, he illegally searched Dafa practitioners' homes and took away all their Dafa books, Dafa materials, tape players, TV sets and cell phones. He also broke into Falun Gong practice sites and stole two large TV sets, hi-fi systems, all the Dafa materials, and all daily commodities belonging to practitioners.

After July 20, 1999, he was actively involved in persecuting Falun Gong. From the Beigong residential division, he alone abducted over a dozen Dafa practitioners and sent them to forced labor camps. Several of them are still detained in forced labor camps and are being persecuted.

Liu Qinghua was the main person in Qianjin Township responsible for persecuting Falun Gong. He died while he was riding his motorcycle and crashed into an automobile on October 18, 2002.

Policeman Lu Yaohua of Linjiang Street Police Station, Jilin City followed Jiang's regime closely to persecute Dafa practitioners since July 20, 1999. He broke into Dafa practitioners' homes to search everywhere looking for Dafa books, and his attitude was nasty. He faced retribution at the beginning of the year 2000. He was hospitalized, and about 2/3 of his stomach had to be removed. He started to understand the truth later.

He Mingliang, 53, lived in Dahe village, Lincai Township, Huaiyang County, of Zhoukou City, Henan Province. He was a trader at a pig marketplace of the fair. For some years he swore frequently at Dafa and Dafa practitioners. In addition, after he saw the posted "truth-clarifying materials" on the street at the beginning of 2003, he said even more vicious words when he saw Dafa practitioners. On December 15, 2003, when he and four other people went on a businesses trip, he was thrown out of the vehicle due to the bumpy drive. He died on the spot, and the other four people were safe and sound. The people who knew about his situation all said, "It must be that he faced retribution for slandering Falun Dafa; he got what he deserved."

One day in the summer 2003, the head of the Public Security Department of Jilin City praised Changyi Public Security Division in a meeting for abducting practitioners. Several days later, a police officer named Xing of Changyi Public Security Division was exposed for his evil deeds. The head of Changyi Public Security Division, the heads of the sections of the division, and over a dozen other related people, were punished with the means of discharge, demotion, removal from duty, etc. respectively.

Zhao Yue, a policeman from Minzhu Street Police Station, Jiaohe City, Jilin Province, believed Jiang Zemin's evil lies, and actively persecuted Dafa practitioners. He tailed, followed, waited in ambush, and captured Dafa practitioners, and sent them to "610 Offices." In 2001 he fell and fractured his legs while riding a motorcycle. He was paid with retribution for persecuting good people.

1. Sun Hongjun lived in Erlijiu Division, in Shenglicun Village of Shuiquliu Town. For money, he signed up to persecute Dafa and Dafa practitioners. In the spring of 2003, Sun became ill with cancer. He died in July, 2003.

2. Hao Qinghua was a policeman in a judicial station of Shuiquliu Town. He was later transferred to Qingfeng Township Police Station. He threatened and coerced Dafa practitioners. In 2002 he went with Shulan City Public Security Department Personnel to Shuiquliu Town for a case. On his way back, while passing the Shuiquliu Town railroad crossing, his car was hit by a train and was carried for over 100 yards. He died at the scene.

3. Li Bingzhe was a policeman of Shuiquliu Town Police Station who was in charge of investigating and registering the people who practiced Dafa before July 20, 1999. He laid out the conditions for the evil people to persecute Dafa practitioners later on. Not long after that he was diagnosed with brain thrombosis. He is still suffering from the illness at home.

4. Liu Junren is a cadre of Qishe Division, Lianhua Village, Lianhua Township of Shulan City. At the beginning of the September, 2002 he sent a Dafa practitioner to the street police station. The practitioner was sentenced to two years of forced labor. Liu has now received retribution. His eldest son crashed into another car. He escaped after the accident but was captured later. His younger son had three automobile accidents in a row. He was injured and suffered financial losses. He went out to drink one day in September, and on his way back he fell on a sand heap and lost consciousness. Emergency treatment helped him regain consciousness later. He had some understanding and said to himself, "I will not do things that hurt others for my personal benefit anymore."

Zhang Jianguo, an instructor in Chaoyanggou Labor Camp, frequently defamed Master Li and Falun Gong. Around November 15 Zhang Jianguo forced Dafa practitioners to watch a video tape that defamed Master Li. Zhang swore while he was watching the tape. Within a few minutes, Zhang Jianguo's eyes suddenly swelled, turned bluish purple, and felt extremely painful. Even now, his eyes still look like that, as if he was hit by someone. He wears a big mask over his mouth and nose all day long and does not dare to look straight into Dafa practitioners' eyes.

Wang Yiping of Chaoyanggou Labor Camp often brutally beat Dafa practitioners. On November 20, while he was beating a Dafa practitioner, his elbow suddenly bent forward. He is now still hospitalized in the 208 Hospital after surgery. The labor camp is not covering his medical expenses.

The above two cases of retribution shocked the evil police of Chaoyanggou Labor Camp very hard. Most of the police officers now believe that evil will be met with retribution and good will be rewarded. They have thus stopped persecuting Dafa practitioners.

On December 16, 2003, police from the Political Security Office in Bazhou City, Hebei Province arrested Falun Gong practitioners on a large scale in Shengfang Township. Police arrested more than thirty practitioners gathered in Guo Zhenying's home. Police searched the whole house and took away more than ten thousand Yuan [Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an average Chinese urban worker is about 500 yuan]. Fellow practitioners requested that the local police station investigate. They refused initially, but agreed to it later due to the practitioners' persistence. This incident is still under investigation.

Mr. Ma Baosheng is a Falun Gong practitioner from Daqing City, Zhaozhou County, Heilongjiang Province. He was arrested and detained in a detention center when he went to Beijing twice to appeal in 2000. The barbaric torture he received included severe beatings, freezing conditions, sleep deprivation, and lashings on the back. Police also extorted 5000 Yuan from his family, took away their motorcycle, and looted their household. In 2001, he was sentenced to one year of forced labor and was detained in Daqing Forced Labor Camp. The freezing conditions and rope torture caused total lack of feeling in his upper body, and it took three months for him to recover.

More than thirty Dafa practitioners, including Quan Zhaoqi, Jiang Nianxiang, Dai Zhizhong, Zhang Zhong, Zhou Guochen, Jia shenghui, and Zhang Xingye (all male) are still being illegally jailed in Daqing Jail. They are being persecuted simply because they believe in "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance." Daqing Labor Camp applies various means of cruel torture to those persistent practitioners who are not willing to give up their belief. They are also deprived of the right to receive visits from their family and friends.

Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Fen is 50 years old and lives on Erzhi Road, in the Yubei Section of Zhongqing City. On January 2, 2004, she went to Beijing to appeal to the government. She was arrested and severely beaten by the police. With the lights turned off, they used a cloth strip to gag her and used an iron bar to hit her on the right side of her head and thigh. They then wrapped her head with cloth and banged her head against the wall until she lost consciousness and could not move.

Mr. Huang Lei is a fifth year student at in the Architectural Department of Guizhou Industrial University. Because of his belief in Falun Dafa, he was persecuted for more than four years. In November 2001, personnel from the "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] intruded into a classroom and abducted him from the class. On the way to Zhongba Brainwashing Center in Guizhou, he was able to escape into a wooded area by the university and stayed in the forest for that night. He was then expelled from the university and was forced to abandon his home and travel from place to place. His mother, a newsroom editor for a TV broadcast department, was also forced to leave their home because she practices Falun Gong. In October 2002, while taking computer courses, Huang Lei was arrested again. He was imprisoned in an investigation brigade in Guiyang and inhumanly tortured both mentally and physically. After going through six days and nights of torture, such as lashing with a leather whip and being hung up with rope, he managed to escape. On February 2, 2003, he again was arrested and tortured. He is still being imprisoned.

Mr. Tian Fujin is from Tongyuan, Inner Mongolia and his whole family practices Falun Gong. Their practice helped them to become better persons and enjoy good health. Because they persisted in practicing Falun Gong, all six family members were persecuted and have been sent to forced labor camps many times. Over the past few years, the family was separated, Mr. Tian's business went bankrupt, and they lost everything they owned. The "610 Office" police, Political and Judiciary Committee, Community office, and Resident Judiciary Committee were constantly harassing this family. His eldest daughter, Tian Fang, was abducted and brought to a brainwashing unit once, detained four times, and was in a forced labor camp for two years. She is now released. The second daughter, Tian Xin, was jailed twice, and was in a forced labor camp for two years. The third daughter, Tian Miao, was sent to a brainwashing unit once, and was detained four times. She was given a six-year prison term; she was first sent to Baoanzhao, and then to Hushi Women Prison. His youngest son, Tian Shuangjiang, was imprisoned twice, and was given a three-year prison term. He is now imprisoned in Tongliao Prison. His wife, Liu Xiurong, was detained twice, and has finished her two years of forced labor. Mr. Tian himself was detained three times, and was in a forced labor camp for three years. In July this year, he went to Baoanzhao to visit his daughter, Tian Miao, and was detained for carrying a Falun Dafa article. He has been imprisoned in Tongliao Hexi Detention Center for almost six months. Recently, the "610 Office" fabricated an excuse and sentenced him to three years of forced labor.

Chu Xinyuan is a Dafa practitioner from Daqing City, Zhaozhou County. She is 31 years old and works for Zhaozhou Chinese Medicine Hospital. In December 1999, she and her husband went to Beijing to appeal and were detained. They were released after 1000 Yuan had been extorted from them. On June 20, 2000, she went to Beijing to appeal again and was arrested and sent back to Zhaozhou police station. She was beaten, forced to undergo brainwashing, insulted and harassed, among other things. On December 20, 2000, she went to Beijing to appeal again and was abducted, and brought to Beijing Xicheng Detention Center. She went on hunger strike to protest and was force-fed while they slapped, beat, and poured ice-cold water on her. She was eventually released. On January 17, 2001, a Zhaozhou Hospital leader, Hu Shuhua, went to her mother's home and found out that Chu Xinyuan was still practicing Falun Gong. Hu and Public Security police arrested her. At the Public Security Office, they slapped her viciously and pulled her hair while slamming her head against the wall. She went on hunger strike and was force-fed. In March 2001, Zhaozhou Public Security Office sent her to the Drug Rehabilitation Center in Harbin to continue persecuting her.

Dafa practitioner Hu Shuhua, 50 years old, was imprisoned in the Fourth Brigade, Beijing Women's Forced Labor Camp in 2002. Police forcefully tried to brainwash her, and allowed her only 2-3 hours of sleep, if any. She was able to maintain righteous thoughts and endured tremendous suffering. One night, she fell from her upper bunk bed and was knocked unconscious. The forced labor camp used this incident as an excuse to frame her for attempting to commit suicide and then illegally extended her term by an additional six months. Later, when a related department came to investigate, she was secretly sent to the Seventh Brigade.
