My Experience and Understanding of Clarifying the Truth Clearly and Thoroughly

(Clearwisdom.net) As a Dafa disciple during the Fa-rectification
period, I am compassionate to people and have utilized all opportunities to
clarify the truth about Dafa. I have kept gaining experience and finding ways to
improve my ability to clarify the truth well and clearly, and I have gotten some
good results. During the process of validating the Fa, I have realized even more
that, "Actually, it is the Fa that saves people, and only Master can do
this thing." ("Don't Make Wild Statements") The fundamental
guarantee of our clarifying the truth and validating the Fa well is that we do
well in learning the Fa, reciting Master's articles, and remembering the Fa
principles that Master has taught. Our clarifying the truth is just the
superficial formality, and what can truly change people's hearts is the Fa
Master has taught. During the process of my truth-clarification, I have truly
felt the omnipresence of Master in helping us and the mighty power of Dafa. Clarify the truth to the people that Jiang's group has used for the
persecution This group of people usually has acquired very strong human notions; they are
the followers of Jiang, and they are also those whom I used to dislike very
much. They have used bad, even sinister, despicable, and inhumane means to
persecute me. I had not done very well at the beginning; I just kept resisting,
stiff in manner, and I also did not try to avoid the persecution (at that time,
some fellow practitioners advised me to hide for a while), which made my
cultivation environment very harsh. Whenever we have problems, Master will point out these problems for us
through our Fa study: "When we deal with the specific problem we should try our best to be
calm and kind to those people who are at the surface, because when the evil
uses people, they usually aren't aware of it themselves (although the people
who are used are usually either people whose thoughts are bad or people who
have bad thoughts arising). As for the interference by evil in other
dimensions, we must seriously eradicate it with righteous thoughts."
("Fa-Rectification and Cultivation") "Wherever there's a problem, that is where you need to clarify the
truth and save people. Don't take a detour when you run into
difficulties." ("Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. Fa
Conference, 2002") The Fa that Master has taught made me see the uncompassionate side of myself.
So when I clarified the truth later, I was basically able to always maintain a
peaceful mind and a smiling face. On July 22, 2002, I took the initiative to visit the person in my work place
who was in charge of persecuting me. I clarified the truth to him. I also sent
righteous thoughts to help eliminate the evil that was controlling him. I told
him the principle that doing good deeds is met with good rewards, and being evil
is met with evil returns. I used the actual examples of some people in our
neighborhood who received retribution for their involvement in the persecution
of Dafa practitioners. I kindly advised him to cherish himself and his family.
My talk, to a certain extent, moved him. Some time later, he and another person
came to my home, saying that they wanted to see me (in fact, they were
instructed to come to watch me). I peacefully told them with smile, "It is
because I practice Falun Gong that you come to see me, right?" They also
laughed. This time our conversation went very well, and we talked for almost an
hour. I told them the several very important suspicious points surrounding the
staged "Tiananmen Square Self-Immolation" incident. I asked them to
consider that in the present world with such an advanced civilization, didn't
they think it a tragedy that the government authorities and the leaders of such
a huge country have resorted to such sinister and brutal means, at the expense
of people's lives, fabricating news, framing others, breeding hatred, and
deceiving Chinese people and the people of the world, so as to reach their goal
of framing Falun Gong? Now people's morality and ethical values are declining,
people's minds are distorted, faking is rampant, there are more and more
government officials being corrupted, and the ranks of the corrupt officials
grows and grows. Aren't all these the disastrous consequences of Jiang's
persecution of the good, which has reinforced the evil? I also told them the
rotten apple example that Master told us. I told them that the rotten apple
example applies to an individual, an organization, even a big country, which,
once it has become bad and cannot be kept anymore, will be eliminated. I recited
Master's article of "Pacify the internal by cultivating the external"
for them. In the end, I also told them that the huge mental and physical changes
of Dafa practitioners have all resulted from learning Master's Fa. We strive to
be good, and even extraordinarily good people, which will only bring peace and
harmony to our homes and society. During this visit, they did not say much
verbally, but I could feel that they had already started to think seriously in
their minds. Later, I again took the initiative and brought truth-clarification material
to these two persons. After reading the truth clarifying material, the official
in charge of persecuting me came to my home again. He asked several questions. Question: What are your thoughts about the current top leaders of the central
government? I said that I would use one of Master's articles to answer his question. I
recited "Cultivation Practice is not Politics." Another question: What are your views of the current Iraq war? I again recited one of Master's articles, "A Brief Explanation of
Shan," to answer his question. In the end, I recited Master's article, "What is Mi Xin" for him. After he listened to my answers, he learned the truth. When he was about to
leave, he said, "I understand now. The good is always good, and history
will give you a fair answer." I said, "Our Master said, ¡®Dafa
disciples' futures are certainly bright--they'll absolutely be bright!'
("Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A")" I have also clarified the truth to the director and police of the local
police station, and enabled them to differentiate between the right and the
wrong, which has thus made our cultivation environment much better than before.
Under the improved cultivation environment, through clarifying the truth, I have
been able to make 80 percent of those who were directly involved in persecuting
me undergo positive changes to different degrees. Some of them have even read Zhuan
Falun. Take advantage of every opportunity to clarify the truth to the persons
around you We live in the ordinary people's society. We often have chances to expose the
evil and clarify the truth to the individuals we meet, and these people may be
different in their ages, occupations, personalities, and qualities. I understand
that throughout the 5,000 years of Chinese history, Chinese people have the
cultural tradition of believing in gods and Buddhas, and they believe in the
principle of karmic retribution. Most people have their compassionate sides, and
we should be good at uncovering and inspiring their good sides, their Buddha
nature; we should positively acknowledge their good sides even though they are
very minor. Using compassion to communicate with people usually gives good
results. Here are some examples. One time I went to buy fruit, and the seller, who is an old man, mistakenly
undercharged me a small amount. I immediately told him of the mistake and paid
him the correct amount of money. He told me that nowadays people like me are
very rare to find. I took this opportunity to tell him that I acted this way
because I practice a kind of Qigong from the Buddha School and I conscientiously
use the principles that Master has taught me to guide myself. He asked me which
Qigong I practice and I told him Falun Gong. I told him that what has been aired
on the television are lies that are from one single source. I also told him the
several very important suspicious parts about the staged
"self-immolation" and the principle that doing good deeds is met with
good rewards, and being evil is met with evil returns. This old man said,
"People should be kind and should not do anything against their
conscience." I immediately said, "It is because you are kindhearted
that we have this fortunate relationship to meet each other!" Later, I
brought him some truth-clarification material, and he and his son happily
accepted it. Before I left, I told him and his son, "It is very important
that you remember that Falun Dafa is good, so you will have a good future." There was another time that I went to buy rice. When the person delivered the
rice to my home, I chatted with him. He told me that nowadays people were very
bad and there was not even a good person. I said that he should not be so
absolute, and those who practice Falun Gong are a group of people who are the
purest and kindest. I also took this opportunity to tell him that Falun Gong is
a cultivation way that values virtue and compassion and teaches people to be
good persons. I also told him how the evil persons have fabricated the lies.
After he delivered the rice to my home, he was very happy, and he also said,
"Thank you. Please continue to buy rice from me." From now on, I have
more contacts with him and his family members who sell rice. I utilized the
evening time, when they were free, and thoroughly clarified the truth to them. I
also gave them copies of different truth-clarification materials. During my
later interactions with them, I explained the principle that people should do
business fairly and have righteous minds. I have noticed that their hearts are
gradually becoming better. One time this man's wife said to me, "After you
told me the principles of being a good person, I never again cheat people when
selling them rice. One time a man bought a bag of wheat flour worth 25 Yuan. He
gave me 30 Yuan and then left. I ran to him and gave him back 5 Yuan." A
different time, the man's wife told me, "People really should never do
anything against their own conscience. ..." It turned out that a person who
bought rice from them paid them with a counterfeit bill worth 50 Yuan. They
thought that they were not the ones who printed the money, so they spent the
fake money when they bought merchandise. As a result, their bicycle got lost and
they had to spend 50 Yuan to buy a used bicycle. She said, "Isn't this a
case of paying back at double the cost?" Later, she received a counterfeit
bill of 100 Yuan. She said she would keep it and she would rather swallow the
loss herself than use it to cheat others. After I heard her talk, I was really
happy for them since they have changed so much. I said, "You did the right
thing!" I told her that before cultivation, we also often did wrong things
out of selfishness. I told them, "You are also using
Truth-Compassion-Tolerance to guide yourselves." Through the incident, I
understood that during the process of clarifying the truth, superficially we did
the work, but in fact, it is the Fa Master has taught that is rectifying
people's hearts. In a different incident, a young man who was a student at the Police Academy
burned his foot. He cured the wound by following the treatment I told him. I
took this chance and clarified to him the truth about the staged Tiananmen
Square "Self-Immolation." I said, "You see that even for such a
small burned area on your foot, you had to have it cleaned and keep it
completely exposed, since it would be cured quicker when it was kept dry. How
badly would the persons get burnt by the big fire on Tiananmen Square? However,
they, as shown on television, were wrapped up tightly with bandages, and only
their eyes were not covered. Wasn't it a sham? Liu Siying had a tracheotomy, but
she could still speak and sing. Was this possible?" I also talked about
several different suspicious points about the "self-immolation." He
was very impressed and learned the truth. I told him, "You are in school to
be a policeman, and it is very important that you have your own judgments and do
not commit wrongdoings out of confusion and ignorance. It has long been the case
since ancient times that a murderer will have to pay back with his life and a
debtor to pay back the money he borrowed, and whoever commits wrongdoings will
have to pay back and receive karmic retribution." He said, "I know
now. I didn't realize that this society is so dark, and I should really pay
attention to these issues when I start to work in the future." Clarify the truth to relatives, friends, and colleagues Our hearts must be pure. When treating others, no matter who they are,
including our family members, we should regard them all as lives and sentient
beings. We should remember the Fa, which Master has taught, of being
compassionate towards all sentient beings, clarify the truth with a
compassionate heart, and never argue with ordinary people. We can start with the people surrounding us, relatives, friends, and
colleagues. Speaking of our family members, their feelings are the most complex;
on one hand, they are worrying about us, and on the other hand, they are afraid
of being implicated because of us. Some family members have been threatened and
harmed by the government, and on top of this, they are deceived by the lies from
the evil head Jiang. Some of my relatives who did not know the truth about the
persecution did something bad to me and distanced themselves from me. I remember
Master's Fa: "Shan is the manifestation of the nature of the universe at
different levels and in different dimensions. It is also the fundamental nature
of Great Enlightened Beings. Therefore, a cultivator must cultivate Shan."
("A Brief Explanation of Shan") We must treat all sentient beings with
compassion. I did not give in to the pressure that came from the outside or from
my family, nor did I argue with them. I keep steadfast in my cultivation. What
we have obtained from the cultivation of Falun Dafa is an upright mind which is
open, aboveboard, and dignified. Amidst the conflicts of interest among family
members, we are able to endure losses, be tolerant to others, and always care
about others. Whenever opportunities occur, we clarify the truth to them and are
not afraid of troubles. In the meantime, our body and xinxing are constantly
improving, which is obvious to them and provides the best, silent proof and
validation of Dafa. Now my entire family knows the truth, and they can tell the
righteous from the evil. They also speak out for Dafa. Even the lady we have
invited to help with my family's house work also wants to learn Falun Gong. It was relatively easy to clarify the truth to my colleagues since they know
very well the entire persecution I have received. Following is an example about
one of my colleagues, who has received great benefits for having generated
righteous thoughts. This colleague of mine is not very old, but the serious illnesses that she
had for many years made her look much older than she actually was. Her face was
pale. She said that she could only sleep for about 2 hours every night, and
could not eat much food. Every day she depended on an intravenous infusion of
vitamins to sustain her life. So I called her and said that I wanted to see her,
but she politely refused me, saying that she had no energy to accompany or chat
with me, and every day she had to take the intravenous infusion. I was worried
about her condition, and wanted to help her get better. Then Master arranged an
opportunity for me to see her. I had never gone to buy groceries in the morning.
But early one morning, I decided to go to the market to buy groceries even
before I took breakfast; I did not know the reason. Unexpectedly, I met her on
the way to the market. She saw and called me and we started to chat. She told me
that she was going to get the reimbursement for her medical expenses, and she
came only once each month. She also exclaimed, "Wow! You are so healthy and
look great!" I directly said, "Yes! It is because I practice Falun
Gong that I am so healthy. I called you last time just because I wanted to chat
with you and hoped you could also get better. So let's do it this way: After you
get your reimbursement, you come to my home and we can have a good chat."
After she came, I told her a lot about Dafa and the vicious persecution. I also
showed her some of Master's articles. At that time, she quickly generated
righteous thoughts toward Dafa and learned the goodness of Dafa and the
despicableness of the vicious persons. She accepted and carefully handled the
truth-clarification material that I gave her, and said she would read them when
she got home. Three months later, I saw her once again during an outing in the
fall. Her change was dramatic: she had a ruddy complexion and was much more
energetic. We climbed up the mountain together. She told me, "Ever since I
saw you that time, I became better and better every day. I don't need vitamin
infusions anymore. I also can eat more. I can sleep for about 5 hours every
night. I have gained over 10 pounds." She said, "I really need to
thank you!" I smiled and said, "It is predestined for you to know
about Falun Dafa, and it is your fortune to know the truth. This is due to
Master's boundless compassion. Don't thank me. You should thank our
Master." There are also many examples about my family members, friends, and colleagues
who have benefited from knowing the truth, and I will not list them all. During
my truth-clarification, many people, after learning the truth, sincerely said
they wanted to thank me, and I would always tell them that they should not thank
me, and they should thank Master; it is Master who has taught me to do things
this way, and it is Dafa that has picked us up from the garbage pile of no
morality and enabled us to walk on the path of returning to one's true self.
During the process of clarifying the truth and saving sentient beings, I have
felt even more the great power of Master's compassion and the mighty virtue of
Dafa. These are some of my personal understandings during my truth-clarification.
