An Old Man Regains His Health after Years of Drinking and Smoking

In a city in Hebei Province, there was a man almost seventy years old. In the past, he had been a heavy drinker. He used to drink twice a day, about twelve ounces of liquor at a time. He also smoked two packs of cigarettes a day. He was extremely short tempered. It was said that he would curse whenever he opened his mouth and hit whenever he raised his arm. Because of his bad temper, his body was riddled with illnesses: high blood pressure, gastritis, Neil syndrome, and severe varicosis, which almost resulted in an amputation. With great care, his wife and children advised him to give up drinking and smoking so that he wouldn't have to suffer the hardship of illness or cause his relatives anxiety. However, the gruff old man would only glare, and exclaim, "Are you going to buy for me or not? If not, I will go buy some alcohol myself. As long as I live for one day I will enjoy myself." This made his family members weep in grief.

Now the old man enjoys great health. When working, he is just as vigorous as a young person. His temper has changed, and he is filled with compassion. The most incredible thing is that the effects of his years of alcoholism and smoking have completely disappeared. Cultivating himself according to Falun Dafa and abiding by its principles of Truth, Compassion, and Tolerance have created profound changes in his body and mind.

My neighbor Xiao Bai enjoys reading Falun Dafa materials and often listens to practitioners when they clarify the facts about Dafa. Bai told her husband, "What it says on their flyers is correct, and the articles written show high levels of education. They teach people to be good and kind. How wonderful! Later her husband also started to enjoy reading Dafa materials.

One day, a practitioner hung a banner with the words "Falun Dafa Is Good" on Xiao Bai's bicycle. Bai told her husband, "Our family will have good fortune now." Her husband replied, "You are not the only one who will have good fortune. The flyers say, ¡®Spreading Dafa, one will have boundless merit and virtue.' Tomorrow I will leave the banner at the Party Committee office in my workplace to let others also realize the truth." The next day, Xiao Bai's husband neatly hung the small banner in the Party Committee office.
