Running Brainwashing Classes - A Way to Make Money for the Party in Fujian Province

(Clearwisdom.net) The Chinese Communist Party's Working Committee in Fujian Province has continuously held brainwashing classes. From time to time the committee's officials complain to the Committee Chairman that practitioners are so resistant that they need a lot more money to fund long-term brainwashing sessions. Each time they have complained, they have been allocated at least one hundred thousand yuan, and as much as two hundred thousand yuan from top levels of the government. In addition, the officials in charge of the brainwashing classes do all they can to lower the cost, such as setting the locations for the classes in poor mountainous areas, where the cost of living is relatively low. Although they have the finances in hand, they still force Falun Gong practitioners' workplaces to pay anywhere from one to two thousand yuan [500 yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China]. The employers privately curse at the greedy officials. They still have to pay though, otherwise it is likely that they will fall out of favor with the authorities.

The surplus funds go into the committee officials' own pockets as "bonuses." Once someone in the brainwashing classes yields, these officials demand that his or her employer hold all kinds of conferences for the purpose of getting credit from higher-level officials.

To make money and enhance their political standing, the committee officials love to run brainwashing classes that persecute Falun Gong practitioners.
