San Francisco News Conference Exposes that Jiang's Mouthpiece Xinhua News Agency "Poisons and Kills People" (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net, January 4, 2004) At noon on January 2, 2004, in spite of the rain, Falun Gong practitioners from San Francisco Area held a news conference outside the Chinese Consulate to expose the so-called case of "Chen Fuzhao, homicide by poisoning", which was twisted by the Jiang's regime to frame Falun Gong and deceive people. Practitioners also demanded to bring Jiang Zemin, the prime criminal of the persecution, to justice.

In July 2003, fourteen beggars or scrap collectors died from poisoning in Longgang Town, Cangnan County, Zhejiang Province. Mr. Tang Zewen, a reporter from Zhejiang City News Express first reported this case. On July 2, when Tang's article was published, there was still no clue for this case. Tang Zewen had followed up the case updated the report. However, the Xinhua News Agency groundlessly accused that Chen Fuzhao from Longgang Town, committed the killing because he was inspired by cultivation of Falun Gong, and claimed in its article published on July 1^st that this case had been solved. This contradicted Tang's report. Xinhua News Agency then removed Mr. Tang Zewen's related reports posted on the Zhejiang City News Express.

When the "Chen Fuzhao poisoning case" was revealed in media, some people personally went to Chen's hometown, Longgang Town, Cangnan County, Zhejiang Province to find out what had happened. According to local psychiatric doctors, Chen Fuzhao was a patient whose mental illness was of an intermittent nature. Hence one can see, the Xinhua News Agency disregard the very basic professional ethics, and did not mention that Chen Fuzhao was a psychiatric patient, instead, it blindly put the blame on Falun Gong.

Falun Gong spokeswoman, Ms. Zhang Xuerong pointed out: To maintain its persecution of Falun Gong, the Jiang's regime banned and burned large amount of Falun Gong books, and blocked positive overseas reports regarding Falun Gong. The purpose is to prevent people from learning about Falun Gong and use lies to frame Falun Gong in order to justify its persecution. It is well known that cultivators of Falun Gong would not take any life, let alone human life.

Mr. Li Hongzhi said in Lecture Seven of Zhuan Falun, "The issue of killing is very sensitive. For practitioners, we have set the strict requirement that they cannot kill lives. Whether it is of the Buddha School, the Tao School, or the Qimen School, regardless of which school or practice it is, as long as it is an upright cultivation practice, it will consider this issue very absolute and prohibit killing--this is for sure." If the Jiang regime did not employ such a severe information blockage, people would be able to freely read Falun Gong books and there would not be any market for Jiang's regime to spread lies.

Bay Area Falun Gong practitioner Li Pei said, "Since 1999, when Jiang's regime started persecuting Falun Gong, it has been using lies to frame Falun Gong. The most typical example of their lies was the 'Tiananmen Square Self-immolation'. The International Education Development Organization pointed out that this was a staged tragedy. If one slows down the video broadcast by the Chinese Central TV, one can see that while Ms. Liu Chunling was struggling in the fire, she was knocked to the ground by a man wielding a blunt instrument. In addition, after the incident, Philip P. Pan, a reporter from the Washington Post, went to Liu Chunling's hometown to investigate. Liu's neighbors and acquaintances all said that they never saw Liu practicing Falun Gong. We have already made the analysis of this incident into video CDs and distributed them to people. Many people have learned about this staged tragedy."

Bay Area Falun Gong practitioner Zou Wei said, "The Xinhua News Agency published this article to frame Falun Gong when Falun Gong practitioners throughout the world were commemorating the death of Mr. Liu Chenjun, who sacrificed his life to try to bring the facts to Chinese people. Falun Gong practitioners from all over the world call for bringing Jiang Zemin, the chief perpetrator, to justice and to punish the police officers who are responsible for Mr. Liu's death. The practitioners' appeals drew attention from media throughout the world. At this point, the Xinhua News Agency published such an article. This is the Jiang regime's attempt to use this to distract people's attention and cover up the truth of its persecution."

Jiang's mouthpieces, including the Xinhua News Agency, have continually fabricated false news to deceive people, poison people's hearts and destroy people's morality.

Last year, the Chinese state-run media covered up the SARS outbreak, which caused the worldwide spread of the epidemic and many deaths. Over the past more than four years, the media controlled by the Jiang's regime used lies to demonize Falun Gong and further the persecution. As a result, many kind people who followed the principles of Truth-Compassion-Tolerance were killed or injured by the torture and persecution. We must expose the Jiang regime's lies and hold them responsible for their crimes.
