(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Liu Shuyun and Ms. Shi Xiuhong are practitioners from Yanbian Korean Ethnicity Autonomous Region, Jilin Province. After being illegally detained for two years, they were once again sentenced to ten years in prison. They are currently detained at Heizuizi Female Prison in Changchun City, Jilin Province.

Liu Shuyun and Shi Xiuhong were arrested in mid-November of 2001 by the security team from the political security division of Yanji City "610 Office" (an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems). Incited by Xiao Bin from the security team, Jin Yongyi, Jin (the most notorious for cruelty), Huang and Piao employed the following methods to brutally torture the two women:

1. Handcuffed from behind: Handcuff both hands behind the victim's back and force them to kneel on the ground, with both feet placed over the horizontal bar of a chair. They continue torture until victims cannot move and eventually faint.
2. Forced them to do a certain dance movement, separate legs as much as possible and keep that position until they faint from the pain.
3. Prick their hand, body and legs with a needle.
4. Burn their wrists with cigarettes. The wounds left scars.
5. Hang them up with feet not touching the ground.

Before the sentence, these two practitioners had been detained many times, their houses ransacked and they had been in a forced labor camp for one year. There are many other practitioners who were also arrested along with Liu Shuyun.

Several Practitioners in Tumen City of Yanbian Region Were Illegally Sentenced to More Than Seven Years in Prison

On June 23, 2003, the Tumen City Court in Yanbian Korean Ethnicity Autonomous Region opened the trial of Falun Gong practitioners for the second time. The court announced the sentence to Falun Gong practitioners and rushed to close the trial. Practitioners Xu Shuqing, Li Hongming, Zhang Jingwen and Sun Jizhong were sentenced to seven to eleven years in prison.

Practitioners Xu Shuqing is fifty-three years old. She works in Tumen division of Chinese Peace Insurance Company. On November 18, 2002, she was arrested at her work place when she was clarifying the truth to others. A group of police ransacked her home and confiscated all of her Dafa books and several hundred copies of truth-clarifying material. After being taken to the public security bureau, she was handcuffed and forced to stand for over eighty hours without sleep, food and water. Some police beat her up. Her family only learned that she was detained at the Tumen Railway Detention Center eight days later.

On April 21, 2003, Tumen City Court opened the trial against Xu Shuqing and three other practitioners for the first time. They were deprived of the right to defend themselves during the trial. As soon as they mentioned that their health and spirit improved after practicing Falun Gong, they were immediately stopped and not allowed to continue.

On June 23, the court opened the trial for the second time. The sentences were quickly announced and authorities rushed to end the trial. The practitioners were sentenced to seven, ten and eleven years respectively. In the evening of October 21, Xu Shuqing, Li Hongming, Zhang Jingwen and Sun Jizhong were sent to the Changchun Heizhuizi female prison.
