(Clearwisdom.net) One night, after I had been in detention about three months, Captain Li Jirong criticized Japan in front of all the Falun Gong practitioners. Everyone was puzzled as to why he did this and was looking at me for an explanation. However, I did not know why he was agitated. I did not realize what had happened until after I returned to Japan. Due to pressure from the Japanese government and people, and Falun Gong practitioners around the world, the Chinese government dared not treat me in the same way they treated practitioners from Mainland China. They hated the situation that they were in but couldn't do anything about it, which was why the captain had been so upset.
After the SARS outbreak in China, some of the practitioners around me were gradually released at the end of 2003, but I was still imprisoned. I asked my captors why I wasn't being released, but they wouldn't tell me. They couldn't torture me, but also couldn't release me because they were afraid I would tell people about what happened to others during my confinement. During this time they tried to find excuses to extend my prison term, but failed. We clearly saw how Jiang's gang had persecuted Falun Gong in China. They were afraid that people around the world would know what was happening in China. Their persecution of Falun gong is illegal, ignores human rights, and barbarically tramples on practitioners' freedom of belief.
Every day we went through long hours of hard labor in the forced labor camp. We got up at 5:30 am and were only allowed 5 minutes to get ready. We'd work until 10 pm. We were required to watch CCTV news broadcasts while we worked. Sometimes we had to get up at three in the morning; the evening work hours were also sometimes extended past 10 pm. Because we sat for long hours on a small hard plastic bench, our buttocks became calloused. This caused our hind sides to feel itchy, and our scratching caused the skin to bleed. But our mental suffering was harder to bear than any physical pain. Each day we felt great anxiety. When we got up each morning, we weren't sure what would happen that day. When the police called upon a practitioner, we'd worry about him or her, wondering what would happen and whether he or she would come back. Each night, our captors would take a roll call before bed. We'd see each other during roll call, but someone might not show up the next morning; they'd be gone without a trace. It gave us great comfort to see each other in the morning and we would encourage each other, even if with just a short glimpse or smile. Under such huge pressure, some people's hair started to turn white. I now dye my hair.
My blood pressure became elevated and my health suffered during my incarceration. During the last two months of my term, I was sent back to the Tiantanghe Hospital; my captors were afraid that my physical condition would reveal what I was enduring. While in the hospital, the captain of my unit, Li Jirong, was transferred out and another woman named Li took his place. She came to the hospital and threatened me, saying, "You'll be released soon. We will exchange opinions with the Japanese Embassy. Even after you return back to Japan, we can still extradite you back to China." She also made other threatening remarks. Without the help of the Japanese government and overseas Falun Gong practitioners, I don't know what might have happened to me. I suppose I might be dying in the labor camp right now, or at least have to suffer a longer term of confinement.
Finally, I have returned to Japan and to my dear family, whom I missed so much during my days and nights in the labor camp. Although I have regained my freedom, there are still many practitioners in forced labor camps experiencing painful torture. My heart feels especially heavy when I think of them.
Just because I distributed truth-clarifying materials, I was sentenced to one-and-a-half-years of forced labor and torture. My family and friends in China and Japan suffered as well during that time.

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Liu Shuyun and Ms. Shi Xiuhong are practitioners from Yanbian Korean Ethnicity Autonomous Region, Jilin Province. After being illegally detained for two years, they were once again sentenced to ten years in prison. They are currently detained at Heizuizi Female Prison in Changchun City, Jilin Province.
Liu Shuyun and Shi Xiuhong were arrested in mid-November of 2001 by the security team from the political security division of Yanji City "610 Office" (an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems). Incited by Xiao Bin from the security team, Jin Yongyi, Jin (the most notorious for cruelty), Huang and Piao employed the following methods to brutally torture the two women:
Before the sentence, these two practitioners had been detained many times, their houses ransacked and they had been in a forced labor camp for one year. There are many other practitioners who were also arrested along with Liu Shuyun.

Several Practitioners in Tumen City of Yanbian Region Were Illegally Sentenced to More Than Seven Years in Prison
On June 23, 2003, the Tumen City Court in Yanbian Korean Ethnicity Autonomous Region opened the trial of Falun Gong practitioners for the second time. The court announced the sentence to Falun Gong practitioners and rushed to close the trial. Practitioners Xu Shuqing, Li Hongming, Zhang Jingwen and Sun Jizhong were sentenced to seven to eleven years in prison.
Practitioners Xu Shuqing is fifty-three years old. She works in Tumen division of Chinese Peace Insurance Company. On November 18, 2002, she was arrested at her work place when she was clarifying the truth to others. A group of police ransacked her home and confiscated all of her Dafa books and several hundred copies of truth-clarifying material. After being taken to the public security bureau, she was handcuffed and forced to stand for over eighty hours without sleep, food and water. Some police beat her up. Her family only learned that she was detained at the Tumen Railway Detention Center eight days later.
On April 21, 2003, Tumen City Court opened the trial against Xu Shuqing and three other practitioners for the first time. They were deprived of the right to defend themselves during the trial. As soon as they mentioned that their health and spirit improved after practicing Falun Gong, they were immediately stopped and not allowed to continue.
On June 23, the court opened the trial for the second time. The sentences were quickly announced and authorities rushed to end the trial. The practitioners were sentenced to seven, ten and eleven years respectively. In the evening of October 21, Xu Shuqing, Li Hongming, Zhang Jingwen and Sun Jizhong were sent to the Changchun Heizhuizi female prison.
(Clearwisdom.net) The Female Squadron of Dalian Forced Labor Training Camp was formed in November 2000. It has detained up to a hundred female practitioners from various districts in Dalian City, as well as a few female criminal offenders. The staff members there have been to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp (a camp notorious for its brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners) for training. Aside from using forced labor, they also use criminal offenders and closed circuit TV to control and monitor practitioners. The staff members force practitioners to sit on small torture benches and listen to slanderous broadcasts against Falun Gong.
According to Chinese law, a person who is not in agreement with a forced labor sentence can appeal within 60 days. At the time of their detention all Falun Gong practitioners appealed in writing, demanding to be set free unconditionally, but their requests were categorically denied. More than eighty practitioners began a hunger strike in protest. Ten of the practitioners were on a 20- to 30-day hunger strike. They were force-fed through rubber tubes with leftovers of salty vegetable soup every day. Later on, the staff replaced the rubber tubes with thicker tubes, causing the practitioners' mouths and noses to bleed.
Fifty-year-old Fu Shuying was spitting out white foam and suffering from cramps after being beaten with electric shock batons. Gao Xiang was beaten by a police captain, Wan Jun, with a rubber baton so badly that her lower body secreted liquid, her legs were badly swollen and her knees would not bend. In order to move from one place to another she had to drag her legs inch by inch. Another practitioner Sun Lianxia died after a 30-day hunger strike and non-stop torture.
There were several regulations in the Dalian Forced Labor Camp designed specifically against Falun Gong practitioners. For example, practitioners were not allowed to recite Teacher's articles; if they did they would be beaten severely. Practitioner Man Chunrong was handcuffed to the window because she practiced one of the Falun Gong exercises. They used electric batons and rubber batons to beat her until she lost consciousness. Both of her legs were completely bruised from her hips to her heels. Even so, the police would not allow Ms. Man to lie down. Instead, they forced her to sit on a small torture bench. A staff member named Sui Ziqiang said, "We cannot help it. The higher authorities ordered us to do this."
In March 2001, while claiming to save and educate practitioners, they moved the Female Squadron into a new building. New detainees were forced to sign a letter stating they would give up their belief in Falun Dafa; otherwise they would be severely beaten. Practitioner Li Hua tried to tell the staff members the facts about Falun Gong and refused to sign. Staff member Lin Yi put a sack over her head and beat her up, stopping only when he broke the rubber-coated baton he was using. Ms. Li's whole head was badly swollen and deformed. Afterwards Ms. Li was asked if she hated them. Li did not hate them at all and kept telling them the facts about Dafa in order to save them. This greatly touched all who witnessed her compassion.
To achieve the goal of transforming practitioners, prison personnel put cameras into every corner, including the hallways, restrooms and storage places. They also installed speakers to broadcast slanderous material against Falun Dafa and Teacher. They also equipped each room with a TV set to show the reports of those former practitioners who had been misled and given up cultivation. Even so, they still could not accomplish what they wanted: to fulfill Jiang's orders and increase the "conversion rate."
On March 19, the staff members posted slanderous materials everywhere, attacking Dafa and Teacher. Practitioners tore down some of these materials. That evening the labor camp staff punished all practitioners by forcing them to put both of their hands over their head and bend forward 90 to 180 degrees with their legs spread apart. Then they forced them to sign papers slandering Dafa. Several policemen and criminal offenders would beat them up if they did not comply. They poured icy-cold water over some practitioners, followed by prolonged shocking with electric batons. The faces and necks of practitioners Ding Hong, Dong Guiyan and Zhang Jing were covered with large yellow blisters. The skin on the back of Ding Hong was torn from electric shocks. The forced labor camp planned to spend three full days and nights to punish practitioners. At noon on March 20, practitioner Yu Lixin died from torture, at age 27. Practitioner Wang Qiuxia also died in the forced labor camp.
(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Xu Junshan, 59, from Xingtai City in Hebei Province, lived at the employees' dormitory of the Xingtai Auto Factory. He started practicing Falun Gong in 1996. After July 20, 1999, the Xingtai police harassed Junshan in various ways, including searching and ransacking his home, abducting his family members, torturing him, and extorting money from him and his family.
Xu Junshan went to Beijing to appeal against the persecution of Falun Gong on June 24, 2000. He was abducted even before reaching the Appeals Office, and was detained overnight at the Hebei Province Government Liaison Office in Beijing. Later, he was taken back by the Xingtai Public Security Bureau and detained for another five days at the Qiaodong Xiangyang Police Station in Xingtai City. During his detention, Mr. Xu was not allowed to sleep for 24 hours, and seven to eight police officers surrounded him and took turns beating him. On July 1, 2000, Mr. Xu was transferred to the No.1 Detention Center in Xingtai City and was subjected to further detention and ill treatment for two months. He was finally released after the police extorted 1,300 yuan from him [500 yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China].
The police would escalate their harassment and persecution of Xu Junshan during any "sensitive dates," such as national holidays or other dates of significance to the ruling party. At the end of 2000, fearing that he might go to Beijing to appeal, the police detained Mr. Xu for ten days before releasing him. On February 23, 2001, the day after the fabricated "Self-Immolation" incident was staged on Tiananmen Square, deputies from Qiaodong Xiangyang Police Station abducted Junshan and detained him for a month.
At the beginning of March, in order to expose the slander and lies against Dafa by the Jiang regime, and to let people learn the truth about the brutal persecution of Dafa, Xu Junshan began printing and copying truth clarifying flyers and pamphlets.
On April 13, 2001, Detective Department Director Li, Detective Section Head Xu and others from the Xingtai Public Security Bureau went to Xu Junshan's home. They ransacked his house and took away his address book, diary, notes and photos. They also took Junshan to the Factory Police Station. Accompanied by the police chief, Director Li interrogated Junshan. Without any evidence against him, they detained Junshan for three and a half days. During this time, Li and Xu used all kinds of horrible methods to torture Junshan with handcuffs. 1) They pulled one of his hands over his shoulder and handcuffed it to the other hand behind his back. 2) They handcuffed both of his hands and raised them until his feet could not touch the ground. 3) They handcuffed both of his hands to the pipe of a heater so that he could not stand up straight but could only squat down. 4) They handcuffed him with his back to the heater pipe so that he could neither stand nor sit down. These deputies laughed when they saw that Junshan was in pain. They did not allow Junshan to go to the restroom for more than ten hours, so he had to urinate in his pants. They tortured Junshan for five and a half days like this. Finally, after extorting another 300 yuan from Junshan's daughter they released Junshan around 5 p.m. on April 18, 2001.
On April 19 and April 22, 2001, Section Chief Bai of the Xingtai Public Security Bureau, accompanied by a Special Case Investigation Group staff member, harassed Junshan's household again. Junshan stood his ground, and barely avoided once again being abducted..
On the morning of April 27, 2001, the Xingtai Public Security Bureau and the Special Case Investigation Group again came to Junshan's home. This time they did not find Junshan at home. Not satisfied, they abducted his daughter as a hostage, even though neither Junshan's son nor daughter practiced Falun Gong. Junshan's wife had to ask people who had connections with the police to secure the release of their daughter after more than two days of detention and another 1,000 yuan in extortion fees. But the harassment did not end there. Junshan's wife was also abducted and brought to the Xingtai Detention Center as a hostage. She was detained and tortured for nearly a month. She was released only after she was tortured to the point where she could no longer take care of herself and was near death. Again, the police extorted another 300 yuan from the family before releasing her.
Due to the constant harassment by the police, Junshan was forced to live away from home. He returned home around 10 a.m. on October 24, 2001. Not long after he arrived, Detective Section Head Xu and several police officers broke into his home. They did not show any warrant or legal documents. They forcefully handcuffed Junshan after beating him and ransacking his home again. During these uncontrolled acts of violence, Junshan's head hit a bed frame. Four of his front teeth were broken and his mouth was filled with blood. Junshan questioned them sternly, "How could you just break into someone's home in broad daylight? You are meant to be enforcing the law, yet you are knowingly violating it." Section Head Xu replied, "We are hooligans, so what can you do about it?" Junshan then shouted out loud, "Public Security is torturing and abducting good citizens!" Seeing people gathering around to see what was going on, several policemen quickly pushed and kicked Junshan into the waiting squad car, and sped off. Junshan was detained for half a month at a detention center. Later, they transferred him to a guesthouse owned by the Mining Bureau. It was a place used by the Special Case Investigation Group, whose sole task was to persecute Falun Gong practitioners.
The Special Case Investigation Group was an organization formed by a gang of thugs from the Xingtai Public Security Bureau and the Qiaoxi Public Security Bureau branch office. This organization was formed specifically to torture and persecute Falun Gong practitioners, and was active from the latter half of 2000 to the end of 2001. Several hundred practitioners were tortured and harassed at this place. Each night the screams of torture victims could be heard. The only way to secure the release of a Dafa practitioner was by using money or a connection with the police as leverage. The minimum payment would be 5,000 yuan. There were numerous extortions exceeding tens of thousands of yuan. In less than one year's time the Special Case Investigation Group deputies extorted several million yuan from Falun Gong practitioners and their family members and friends. Even ordinary citizens were affected -- staff of the printing and photocopying shops that serviced Dafa practitioners could easily get their shops closed, their equipment confiscated, and be fined tens of thousands of yuan. Even people who talked about or expressed their sympathy towards Falun Gong could not escape persecution, as phone calls were monitored. All the money was illicitly divided among the deputies themselves. Practitioners who had no money would be brutally tortured and forced to admit that they were responsible for distributing flyers. The deputies would then use these individual cases to forge falsified reports to be handed to higher authorities, touting their "accomplishments" so they would receive bigger bonuses and awards. Hebei Province Public Security Bureau Office even awarded a first class commendation to the Xingtai Qiaoxi Public Security Bureau branch. The head of the Special Case Investigation Group, Wei Jikao, got a personal bonus of tens of thousands of yuan. Since he has personally tortured many Dafa practitioners, his name is on the Fawanghuihui list (a website that tracks the information of persecutors of Falun Gong practitioners).
Agents from the Special Case Investigation Group started torturing Junshan the very afternoon he was abducted and brought to the guesthouse. Deputy Bai Hongzhen handcuffed all four of Junshan's limbs to an iron chair, and secured his back with an iron bar. Junshan could not move at all. Then Bai Hongzhen inserted an electric baton into Junshan's mouth and turned on the switch. The crackles of sparks could be heard in his mouth. Later, Bai shocked Junshan's ears, hands, shoulders, knees and inner thighs. Bearing the extreme pain, Junshan told Bai Hongzhen, "It is wrong for you to persecute Falun Gong. All Falun Gong practitioners are good people. It is not good for you to torture good people." Bai Hongzhen yelled in reply, "I like to beat up good people! What's wrong with that?" He unlocked Junshan from the chair and knocked him to the ground. He put the iron chair on top of Junshan's back, sat on it, and started shocking Junshan again, especially on his sensitive areas. He told Junshan while shocking him, "Don't think I will ever go easy on an old man like you." Junshan replied, "I know a person can do all kinds of horrible and despicable acts once he loses his conscience."
At this point, Wei Jikao, who was watching Junshan being tortured, walked over and handcuffed Junshan back to the chair again. He then took a three-foot long stick and hit Junshan on the back using all his might. The wooden stick broke in half on the spot. Wei Jikao then started lashing Junshan on his head and back with a leather belt until Junshan started bleeding from wounds on his head and body. Wei Jikao stopped only after Junshan went into convulsions and passed out.
Wei Jikao later tried to force Junshan to falsely testify against another Dafa practitioner who had gathered evidence of the extortion of money from Dafa practitioners by Wei Jikao and publicized his crime on Clearwisdom.net. Junshan refused to cooperate. Wei Jikao tried to force Junshan to sign repentance papers by threatening Junshan that his son would be fired from his job (Junshan's son was a driver for one of the Xingtai City Public Security Bureau's senior administrators). Again Junshan refused. After a few days Junshan's son was indeed fired from his job. During this period Junshan's wife was again abducted and taken to the same detention center, under the pretext that she was needed as an "eyewitness." She was detained for five days, and was released only after they extorted another 3,000-yuan from her -- the "eyewitness" fee.
Wei Jikao and several deputies fabricated a report and sent it to their senior officials. Under coercion from the Xingtai City "610 Office"* and the Public Security Bureau, the Qiaodong People's Court and Prosecutor's Office finally filed charges against Xu Junshan in May 2002. Junshan noticed that the report material was totally fabricated, and that the signature was not even his. He questioned the prosecutors but his plea was ignored. In July 2002 the Qiaodong People's Court sentenced Junshan to 15 years in prison. On October 22, 2002, deputies from the Xingtai Intermediate Court, including Chief Prosecutor Wang Shuangmei, and prosecutors Guo Zhenqi and Zhang Qiuxu, handed down the decision that Junshan's original sentence would be maintained, and they prohibited Junshan from appealing again. Their decision and the relevant legal documents were not publicized, so even Junshan's own family did not know about the ruling. On the morning of October 23, 2002, the authorities secretly transferred Junshan to Tangzhuang Prison. On October 24, he was then transferred to the Shijiazhuang 4th Prison. In this prison, Xu Junshan and many other Dafa practitioners are subjected to even more brutal physical and mental torture.

(Clearwisdom.net) On December 18, the Dehui City Court in Jilin Province conducted an illegal trial for 13 Falun Dafa practitioners. Before dawn on December 17, other practitioners hung a speaker on the high-voltage lines near the Dehui City Detention Center to broadcast the facts of the persecution. At 5:30 AM the broadcast began and lasted for an hour. The neighboring residents heard the true situation about Falun Dafa and the persecution against it.

The Trial Itself
On December 18, 2003, Dehui City Court officials illegally tried 13 Dafa practitioners who had been detained for a 13 months beyond their original terms. The illegal trial began at 9 AM and lasted for an hour and at the end these 13 Dafa practitioners were given heavy sentences of 3 to 12 years: Sun Qian, 12 years; Liu Dianling, 11 years; Zhang Wenfen, 10 years; Liu Baijun, 9 years; Jiang Chunxian, 8 years; Hu Jie, Jia Yunxia, and Yang Jun, 7 years each; Zhang Yan and Wei Guangxue, 6 years each; Lin Hongfei, 4 years; Zhou Jibin and Jiang Wenbin, 3 years each.
Old Tactics Used Again
During this illegal trial, the gate to the court was firmly closed, a security line was set up in front of the gate, over 20 armed policemen stood guard in front of the gate and at each side of the court, and five or six police vehicles were parked in front of the gate. Three officers were stationed on top of the building as lookouts. About 20 plain-clothes police were stationed near the court. They blended into the crowd or hid inside nearby stores. In order to prevent Dafa practitioners from placing speakers to broadcast the truth, the Police Department rented a special truck with a "cherrypicker" lift and thoroughly searched the tops of several buildings near the court in the morning.
Unjustified Abductions
After the trial began, several police arrested Sun Ke and Peng Xiangyang, family members of Falun Gong practitioners, in broad daylight near the security line of the gate because they were promoting justice and exposing the evil. They were sent to the police station, where they were illegally detained.
Impossible to Defend Effectively
Although the police kept watch around the court the night before and carefully searched the tops of buildings in the morning, Dafa practitioners with their strong righteous thoughts were still able to place a loudspeaker next to the gas station that was opposite the court. Just after 9:00 AM, a broadcast began from a loudspeaker that revealed the true situation of Falun Dafa and exposed the crimes committed by the authorities, throwing the policemen nearby into panic and confusion. They took immediate action and jumped on the bicycle that held the speaker. Dafa practitioners' righteous thoughts and righteous actions terrify the police who are afraid of the public knowing the crimes they have committed against innocent people.
Magnificent Feats to Rectify the Fa
During the illegal trial, all the Dafa practitioners in Dehui City formed a whole body and sent righteous thoughts to eliminate evil factors in other dimensions. Some Dafa practitioners came out openly and above-board, gathered near the court, sent righteous thoughts at close quarters, clarified the truth, and exposed the evil. When the 13 Dafa practitioners were driven back to the detention center in police vehicles, about 20 Dafa practitioners who stood near the court shouted together, "Falun Dafa is good!" This greatly frightened the police, who don't want the public to know the truth. The plain-clothes policemen in the crowd seized the opportunity to abduct two Dafa practitioners, Dr. Shao Zuoshen and his son Shao Fangdong. They are currently being detained in the Dehui City Detention Center.
More Dafa Practitioners Abducted
In addition, when Dafa practitioners Sun Dawei and Zhang Xuedong carried video cameras past the court's gate, to document the illegal trial proceedings, the police discovered them and gave chase in their vehicles. Zhang Xuedong was caught on Second Central Street, while Sun Dawei resisted with all his strength and managed to get away. At the same time Mr. Wang, a taxi driver, was also taken away. Now they are both being held in the detention center.

(Clearwisdom.net) A "solemn declaration" is a person's public statement declaring to the world that whatever he or she has done or said under duress or deception that was against Falun Dafa is null and void. Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they had signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again. Also, as more and more people in China learn the truth about how they have been deceived and lied to by the Jiang regime, many non-practitioners are also submitting "solemn declarations."

(Clearwisdom.net) In 2002 I became acquainted with one of the department heads in my company while I was working as a saleswoman. It wasn't until much later that I discovered that he was a Falun Gong practitioner. As a saleswoman, I needed to have a good knowledge of our products, so I often talked to him to discuss questions about the products. During our conversations, I was impressed by his moral character and kindhearted disposition. After a while we became good friends, and he started inviting me to his home. When I saw Zhuan Falun (the main book of Falun Gong) in his home, I knew that my friend was a Falun Gong practitioner. At the time, I had become disillusioned with many things in the world and interested in finding the guidance of a genuine cultivation school. After I borrowed Zhuan Falun from him and read the book twice, I decided that this must be the meditation practice that I had been seeking for years. Jiang Zemin had just started to ban Falun Gong and Falun Gong books at the time, so I was unable to obtain a copy of Zhuan Falun from any bookstore. If not for the persecution, I would surely have been able to purchase a copy of Zhuan Falun from any bookstore. Unfortunately, when I learned about Falun Gong I didn't have the good fortune to obtain my own copy of Zhuan Falun. Furthermore, the Public Security Bureau was systematically confiscating Falun Dafa books everywhere.
Back then I didn't know how to react to the persecution, because I never had the opportunity to attend group meditation and experience sharing, I hadn't even learned the exercises yet. Thus I hadn't the slightest idea of what clarifying the truth meant. I continued my life as a saleswoman as usual and cultivated my xinxing alone.
On December 19, 2000, one of my clients called and wanted to meet with me. When I arrived at the building for the appointment, I walked by a room and found a lot of people gathered together. I found that these people were practitioners and they were having an experience-sharing conference. The peaceful and serene atmosphere in the room was very appealing to me, so I decided to attend the conference for a short while and listen to their speeches. Soon afterward, shouting interrupted the conference, "Freeze!" followed by a large number of police officers swarming into the building. They took everyone away with excessive force. I was abducted too. I felt very confused why the police officers acted so viciously. My previous impression was that the police are righteous and respectful. Now that I have directly encountered the reality of Chinese policemen, I've realized that some of them are actually depraved people simply wearing police uniforms.
I later learned that secret agents had followed practitioners into the conference and sold the information to the police. I saw 20 to 30 policemen guarding the stairway, hallway, and outside the building. There were also a lot of police cars outside the building. They brought all of the Dafa practitioners to the Public Security Bureau for interrogation.
Six practitioners and I were stuffed into a police vehicle and hauled to a local police station. On the way there, I asked the practitioners, whom I had never met before, "What is the Public Security Bureau arresting us for?" One of the Dafa practitioners in her 30's said, "Jiang Zemin is staying in this city for two days. The Public Security Bureau wants to kiss up to Jiang, so they are arresting us so as to improve their credentials."
The policemen took turns interrogating each of us. When it was my turn, I did not answer any of their questions, nor did I admit that I belonged to the so-called Falun Gong "organization." When the policemen saw that they couldn't obtain any response from me, they said, "If you admit that you are a Falun Gong practitioner, we will release you immediately." Still, I did not answer. In my heart I scoffed at his deceitful offer. Since the policemen could not get anything from the interrogation, they transferred us to another police station. Late that night, a policewoman in her 20's was very adamant in forcing me to admit that I practiced Falun Gong, but I refused to admit it. Then four to five policemen joined her in the interrogation. They hammered the table with their fists, barked and cursed in order to intimidate me and force me to "confess". Then all of a sudden, I realized that I was a Falun Gong cultivator. I turned to the policewomen and said, "Thank you for the reminder, otherwise I would never have realized it! I am a Falun Gong practitioner!"
On December 21, 2000, I was transferred again to another police station. During the entire ordeal, I was denied my right to make a phone call, or to have any contact with the outside world. I was completely isolated from the outside world. On December 22, 2000, a police officer asked some other policemen to handcuff me, and they took me into a police car. Seven policemen came with us. They did not tell me where they were taking me, but I felt very peaceful and serene, and was not afraid at all. At the time, nothing was on my mind except two lines from one of Teacher's poems:
"A great Arhat in the world,
Spirits and ghosts fear the most."
("Mighty Virtue" in Hong Yin)
It turned out that they handcuffed me because they were taking me to the company I worked for, and they planned to search my cubicle. When they tried to read the content of a floppy disk, nothing but garbled codes appeared on the computer screen. I knew that it contained nothing but a sales plan. Apparently these police officers were not even entitled to read my sales plan. They were very frustrated when they could not find any evidence against me. Furthermore, my colleagues told them, "You must have made a mistake. Ms. Liu is a wonderful woman and an excellent salesperson!" Seeing the whole situation was at their disadvantage, the embarrassed police officers began to slander my reputation in front of my colleagues. But when I began to defend myself, the police fell silent, unable to find any facts supporting the empty accusations. I repeated what I had told them in the police car, "I have the right to remain silent! I will talk if you can find any evidence against me!" Their original ferocity had been completely deflated. We left my company empty-handed. Next they took me to my home, but still they could not find any evidence against me. As the police officers became increasingly disappointed, I became increasingly calm and peaceful. In the end, they put me into detention for 15 days with the fabricated charge of "violating social order." After 15 days, they continued to detain me with the excuse of "criminal investigation." While I had not violated any laws, these police officers had violated dozens of laws in just this brief period of time. Even though they had never been able to find any evidence against me, they still transferred me to the city's detention center. There, I ran into a fellow Falun Gong practitioner, and officially started to learn the Falun Gong exercises.
During the illegal detention, I was completely isolated from the outside world, and lost contact with everyone I knew. The disciplinary staff at the detention center openly declared, "Everyone, except Falun Gong practitioners, is entitled to hire an attorney." During the period of time, I was locked in the same cell with one Falun Gong practitioner after another, four of them in total. Because of the opportunity of being in the same cell with fellow practitioners, I slowly learned more about the profound meanings of Falun Dafa. Not only me but also, the prison inmates in my cell, who were detained for stealing, drug dealing, gambling, prostitution, etc., gradually learned that Falun Gong practitioners were people of high morality. Some of them even started to learn and practice the Falun Gong exercises with us. One of the drug-addicts was a repeat offender. Because of Falun Gong's energy field, she purged her addiction to drugs in less than seven days. In the beginning he had a tired and withered look to her, but slowly she began to smile a sweet smile and come to life.
Later, the prison guards ordered the disciplinary staff to force me to renounce Falun Gong and repent for practicing Falun Gong in writing, but I solemnly refused. After all, I have never regretted for one second practicing Falun Gong. I declared to the disciplinary guard, "You must bring me home just as you brought me here!" If I were to have taken vengeance against the police officers, it would have meant that I was not a genuine Falun Gong practitioner. If I didn't seek revenge like non-cultivators would have, I felt that I was still truly cultivating.
Truly, I must thank the police officers for allowing me to meet Falun Gong practitioners in the detention center.
Some fellow practitioners were transferred to the forced labor camp to serve 1-2 years of detention after I had been detained for about 2 months. After four months of illegal detention, the police remained unable to force me to renounce Falun Gong, so they released me unconditionally.
(Clearwisdom.net) In a dream, I clearly saw myself walking on the street along with many other people. Suddenly I saw many spirits floating towards the crowd. The spirits had only transparent faces. They had noses, eyes and mouths, but no ears. They did not have bodies and appeared to be very evil.
As soon as I saw the spirits, they entered the heads of the people in the crowd. The people did not appear to feel the spirits at all and continued chatting. Once inside people's bodies, it was very easy for the spirits to manipulate people. It was just like a driver who has full control to maneuver his own vehicle. Even though the people were now completely under the control of the spirits, they still believed their thoughts were their own.
Immediately I realized the spirits were evil things that had to be eliminated, so I erected my right palm to send forth righteous thoughts. After a while, some spirits were eliminated, but some other spirits turned into a gust of wind and tried to force my hand down. I used my left hand to keep my right hand upright and continued to send forth righteous thoughts. Gradually the spirits all disappeared. After I woke up, I realized how important it is to send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil.
Ever since that dream, whenever I clarify the facts to people, I often remember to send forth righteous thoughts to clear away the evil elements controlling them in other dimensions. This way it is much easier for people to accept what I say. For example, there was a man who said something bad about Dafa. When I talked with him again and sent forth righteous thoughts to clear away the evil, he totally changed his attitude towards Dafa.
This experience made me think that sometimes we focus too much on clarifying the facts and on people's responses to our efforts, yet we forget that people who say bad things are controlled by evil elements in other dimensions. If we clear away those evil elements, many people will become rational. Then they will have a chance to be saved.
Teacher said,
"...We have to eliminate the evil things, period, because they damage the cosmos and damage sentient beings. In other words, without these evil things there would be no need for Fa-rectification." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2001 Canada Fa Conference")
I enlightened to the fact that only when every Dafa disciple, that is, every particle of Dafa, keeps pace with Fa-rectification and truly fulfills one's responsibility, will we truly experience "the reappearance of the mighty Buddha Fa in the human world!" ("Cautionary Advice," Falun Dafa Essentials For Further Advancement)

(Clearwisdom.net) Du Xingze, a 50 year-old man, is the head of the Political Security Section of Changyi District Police Department in Jilin City, Jilin Province. He is notorious in the Jilin police force for cruelly persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners. At present, Jilin Falun Dafa practitioners are actively exposing the persecutors to the locals. They hand out lots of truth clarifying material about Du Xingze's crimes and put up a lot of posters in the residential area of the police department--just near Du Xingze's home.
Du Xingze committed many crimes against Falun Dafa practitioners during the past few years. He forced Falun Dafa practitioner Wang Minli to fall out of a window from the sixth floor during her illegal arrest, causing her throat to be cut open. She still suffers from this even after two operations. Another time, Du Xingze arrested practitioner Mr. Guo Zhande and put him through agonizing torture. He then locked both Mr. Guo Zhande and another practitioner in a dark, air-tight room, in an attempt to starve them to death. Later those two practitioners walked away with righteous thoughts.
Since he began persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners, Du Xingze has been named many times on a list of persecutors. The overseas Dafa practitioners clarified the truth to him many times. But he was deceitful, claiming he was innocent of these deeds while still arresting Dafa practitioners and destroying Dafa material production sites. Several Dafa material production sites in Changyi District were destroyed during this time, and all of these incidents are connected with Du Xingze. He knows that he is committing crimes, but for the sake of personal gain, he still does not repent to this day.
Since Jilin Dafa practitioners exposed Du Xingze's crimes to the local people, Du Xingze is afraid that more of the local people will know of his crimes, so he ordered the staff members of the community offices to take down the posters. The staff didn't like to do this, so he had no choice but to order his subordinates to remove them. He also orders policemen to keep watch near his home. Having heard the voice of justice both overseas and locally, Du Xingze is in a state of anxiety. He skulks about every day and is terrified of his crimes being exposed.
Jilin Falun Dafa practitioners sternly warn Du Xingze again: immediately stop the persecution right now, and make amends for your crimes by treating Falun Dafa practitioners well. All of what the practitioners did is to help you awaken, and stop harming the people, as it is harming yourself. Soon you will have to compensate for these crimes. You may choose your own future. If you continue to commit bad deeds, you will be punished by both human law as well as the universal law of karmic retribution.

(Clearwisdom.net) I had a conflict with a fellow practitioner that led me to do some deep reflecting, and allowed me to see that I had the shadow of the old forces imprinted on my body. I made the resolution to remove it and to break away from the old universe and the old forces thoroughly. When I realized that by doing this my life was totally renewed, I developed the desire to write about this process.
Master said as early as 1997,
"I also want to tell you that your nature in the past was actually based on egotism and selfishness. From now on, whatever you do, you should consider others first, so as to attain the righteous Enlightenment of selflessness and altruism." ("Non-Omission in Buddha-Nature," Essentials for Further Advancement)
Therefore, for a very long time, I thought that I had been cultivating based on "selflessness and altruism" and "always considering others first" whenever encountering a difficulty. However, just recently, I had a conflict with a fellow practitioner, which made me carefully examine my "always considering others first."
The situation went something like this: A fellow practitioner, who was forced to live in exile, had to work as a maid for a living. Afterwards, I heard that the employer was dissatisfied with her work. Therefore, I asked another fellow practitioner, who was regarded as a good person by everybody, to come for experience sharing and to help her to look inside.
After everyone expressed their opinions, I said to her while pointing at the fellow practitioner who was considered a good person, "Think about it, if Betsy [assumed name] worked as a maid in that house, would she make the employer dissatisfied?" In fact, our every word and action is a manifestation of the "truth." If we do well in all areas, isn't this the best way to validate the Fa? I assumed that this fellow practitioner must have thought it over, figured out her problem, and upgraded according to the principles of the Fa after such experience sharing plus our giving her financial help. When I saw her again, I was filled with hope and confidence, and asked her, "How is it going? You must have fixed everything by now." To my surprise, she was extremely upset and said to me, "Don't you know how much your words hurt me?"
"Hurt her?" Facing such an unexpected complaint, I was confused. Feeling extremely puzzled, I asked her, "Which words of mine hurt you?" She said, "It was that sentence about 'what would it be like if Betsy worked as a maid?'" I could not understand what her problem was. I did not say anything, so as to avoid intensifying the conflict further, but I felt extremely grieved since I thought that I had been truly helping her wholeheartedly, without even a slight thought of selfishness!
The fundamental difference between a Dafa practitioner and an ordinary person is that a Dafa practitioner searches inside when facing a conflict. After painstakingly looking inside, I found that my "always considering others first" had impure elements, such that I was expecting a result, and complicating the situation with my desires. I was imposing the ideas that I thought were good on others. I must relinquish such desires! At that moment, my thought was to keep the "good" and abandon the impure.
Consequently, I carefully tried to distinguish the impure from the "good," but could not go beyond my original thinking and get rid of my past ways no matter how hard I tried. After doing a lot of thinking, I still could not understand. Then, I suddenly realized that my way of thinking, and all the "me's" (either positive or negative ones) were formed in the old universe. Master said,
"If you do not change the human logic that you, as an ordinary human, have formed deep in your bones over thousands of years, you will be unable to break away from this superficial human shell and reach Consummation" ("Cautionary Advice," Essentials for Further Advancement).
Then, I realized that all that I have, my every thought and idea, and my every cell were formed in the old universe over a long period of time. However, I was still trying to distinguish the good from the bad, and was trying to keep this and to abandon that. "I don't want any of it!" I sent forth this thought from the bottom of my heart. My past, and all of what I had will have nothing to do with the "new me" from now on.
When I understood this, I discovered that I had been continuously and stubbornly defending my old me. I brought the old me along in whatever I did, and the image of the old me could be seen everywhere. Isn't that the same as the old forces when they stubbornly defend themselves and hold onto their attachments? I suddenly realized that the old forces had influenced me a lot and had a close connection with me (I am not saying that we ourselves are the old forces; we are not). "We don't want it!" When I had this thought, I suddenly felt that I was breaking away from the old universe and becoming a completely new life, a life that has chosen the new universe!
At that time, I became aware of the reason why the old evil forces still exist. It is because there is root, soil, and space that allow them to live among our cultivators. So we shouldn't take it lightly. Meanwhile, I also felt that I truly understood what Master once said,
"Any amount of money or any kind of help you give them won't be as good as informing them about the Fa, which is the best thing to do" (Falun Buddha Fa - Lecture at the First Conference in North America).
This is because the Fa is the only hope for sentient beings in the universe to prolong their lives! I feel that I had not understood the true significance of "clarifying the facts" until then. That is, clarifying the facts is to provide an opportunity for more sentient beings in the old universe to be saved.
I feel that I have finally begun to get in touch with the realm of the beings in the new universe; it is a realm of selflessness and pure benevolence! I know how I should treat all people (including both ordinary human beings and practitioners). I should show them the pure benevolence and goodness of Dafa. Furthermore, all of what I do is for others, without the slightest thought for myself, no "me" at all. All of "me" has originated from the Fa. It is the Fa that has forged "me." At that time, I felt that I was immersed in the Fa, and was together with the Fa!
These are a few of my experiences and understandings during my cultivation in the Fa-rectification. Please point out any inappropriate areas.

(Clearwisdom.net) On July 19, 1999, I saw several Falun Dafa practitioners whose faces were familiar to me on the express train #393 from Jiamusi to Beijing, but I didn't know their names. The train started, people were chatting, and it appeared that this train was no different from any other train.
Not long after the train started, I heard a practitioner next to me say that a boy who was reading Zhuan Falun had been taken off the train. The boy and his mother were quickly removed at station stop.
After arriving at Harbin Train Station, the train stayed for a long while after the passengers who had reached their destination got off. The passengers remaining on the train became irritated. Suddenly, several groups of police ran to the train. My compartment was instantly swamped with policemen, who blocked both exits. Several people jumped over a seat to speak with another passenger. One officer came to my seat before I even knew what was going on. The police ordered a couple sitting near the window to collect their luggage and get off the train. I assumed the police must be after some criminals. However, the male passenger calmly prepared his luggage and said to me: "Don't be scared. It doesn't matter." and left the train. On the way, we hadn't spoken a word to each other. His calm in such an intense situation seemed to say he hadn't done anything against the law or his conscience. Startled by this unforeseen event, I was pondering what was going on, when a practitioner I knew came and briefly told me that the police were arresting people in every compartment and they appeared to arrest only Falun Gong practitioners, including a fellow female practitioner in our compartment, who was removed from the train. "What!" I was very surprised. I turned around; the practitioner was indeed no longer on the train. It had happened so fast I didn't even notice. When I looked through the window, many faces, both familiar and unfamiliar, passed by outside. They looked calm, peaceful, and fearless. Before I could focus on the face of one practitioner, another would pass by. Many practitioners passed the window side by side. Time seemed to stand still, and I was left with an impression of overlapped bodies of practitioners. I did not know where they would be taken.
I don't know how many practitioners were on that train nor how many were taken off. Only two people remained in the two six-person benches facing each other in our compartment. We sat quietly looking at each other, and all sorts of feelings welled up in my heart. I had asked for the ticket to Beijing from the practitioner who was taken off the train last. I was determined to reach in Beijing and express the will of Falun Dafa practitioners no matter what happened.
To prevent practitioners from appealing and to have plenty of time to arrest practitioners, the policemen held the Beijing-bound train for over two hours.
Finally, the train arrived at Beijing Train Station. Passengers were separated for interrogation and interception of Falun Gong practitioners. I got off the train and waited for a while to see how many people I could meet. I saw a woman who was seven or eight months pregnant, a thin middle aged woman with two children (the mother of one of the two children had been taken away), and several young people in their twenties. The atmosphere around the train station was intense. We quickly left, setting off to appeal for fair treatment toward Falun Dafa.

(Clearwisdom.net) The Bureau of National Security in Shanghai used various psychological tactics and approaches to intimidate, deceive and brainwash Lin Hsiao-kai. They spread all kinds of rumors and lies. They even dispatched special agents to collect details of Lin's family life. While they were illegally detaining and interrogating Lin, they went so far as to slander the persecution cases disclosed on Clearwisdom. Even though their intensive brainwashing might have had some superficial effect, what is the eventual outcome? At present, Lin Hsiao-kai still is a Falun Gong practitioner, and his experiences at the hands of his captors have further strengthened his belief in "Truth-Compassion-Forbearance."
The Bureau of National Security in Shanghai videotaped Lin Hsiao-kai throughout his detention and tricked him into saying things against his will . They also forced Lin to sign some sort of "Guarantee Statement." But what is the use of all this? Would the Bureau of National Security in Shanghai dare to show all the videotapes and his signature to the public? If they dare to do so, wouldn't Falun Gong practitioners overseas, and in Taiwan in particular, have one more piece of strong evidence to sue Jiang Zemin? Wouldn't it be the case that the more they managed to brainwash Lin Hsiao-kai, the clearer it would show the cruelty of the Bureau of National Security in Shanghai under the Jiang regime's control? Would they dare to expose their criminal conduct in kidnapping Taiwanese people, in brainwashing and twisting Taiwanese people's minds?
The Bureau of National Security in Shanghai also intimidated and tried to force Lin Hsiao-kai to become their special agent. They even used various schemes to test Lin. But after Mr. Lin's wife exposed to the world their criminal conduct of kidnapping , these criminals were extremely fearful. They tried to foment discord between Lin and his wife by telling Lin that his wife was hurting and harming him by doing so. They even tried to trick Lin into calling his wife to stop her righteous actions. When all their efforts were in vain and when there was nothing else they could do but release Lin, they threatened Lin not to disclose their criminal acts after his return to Taiwan. They even went to far as to threaten that they could come to Taiwan to get him. How ridiculous this threat is! It is like as if Taiwan had also been haunted by Jiang's regime. What has happened instead? Lin Hsiao-kai has exposed all the schemes used by the Bureau of National Security in Shanghai to people from all walks of life.
We also know that National Security agents from China used the same retinue of schemes and approaches overseas on other Dafa practitioners. They either directly threatened Dafa practitioners who had returned to China from overseas or threatened and intimidated their family members to force them to provide information. It is true that some individuals did give in to the evil to a certain degree due to fear at the time. It is hoped these individuals can expose the hideous conduct of the National Security agents, and at the same time, eliminate this major stain in their cultivation.
American President Franklin D. Roosevelt talked about four freedoms in his inaugural speech on January 6, 1941: freedom of belief, freedom of speech, freedom from fear and freedom from deficiency. Falun Gong practitioners' freedom of belief and freedom of speech have been completely deprived of by Jiang's regime, and the Bureau of National Security in Shanghai controlled by Jiang's regime has directly encroached upon people's freedom from fear. Perhaps the schemes and measures used by the Bureau of National Security in Shanghai would have its way amongst ordinary people and ordinary groups, but the principles of "Truth-Compassion -Forbearance" can dispel all fear in a practitioner's mind.
The case of the Bureau of National Security in Shanghai kidnapping and deceiving Lin Hsiao-kai has helped the public clearly see that the so-called "National Security" is not "national security," but "national terrorism" and "the security of Jiang's regime," and that they cannot bear to be exposed.
(Clearwisdom.net, January 4, 2004) At noon on January 2, 2004, in spite of the rain, Falun Gong practitioners from San Francisco Area held a news conference outside the Chinese Consulate to expose the so-called case of "Chen Fuzhao, homicide by poisoning", which was twisted by the Jiang's regime to frame Falun Gong and deceive people. Practitioners also demanded to bring Jiang Zemin, the prime criminal of the persecution, to justice.
In July 2003, fourteen beggars or scrap collectors died from poisoning in Longgang Town, Cangnan County, Zhejiang Province. Mr. Tang Zewen, a reporter from Zhejiang City News Express first reported this case. On July 2, when Tang's article was published, there was still no clue for this case. Tang Zewen had followed up the case updated the report. However, the Xinhua News Agency groundlessly accused that Chen Fuzhao from Longgang Town, committed the killing because he was inspired by cultivation of Falun Gong, and claimed in its article published on July 1st that this case had been solved. This contradicted Tang's report. Xinhua News Agency then removed Mr. Tang Zewen's related reports posted on the Zhejiang City News Express.
When the "Chen Fuzhao poisoning case" was revealed in media, some people personally went to Chen's hometown, Longgang Town, Cangnan County, Zhejiang Province to find out what had happened. According to local psychiatric doctors, Chen Fuzhao was a patient whose mental illness was of an intermittent nature. Hence one can see, the Xinhua News Agency disregard the very basic professional ethics, and did not mention that Chen Fuzhao was a psychiatric patient, instead, it blindly put the blame on Falun Gong.
Falun Gong spokeswoman, Ms. Zhang Xuerong pointed out: To maintain its persecution of Falun Gong, the Jiang's regime banned and burned large amount of Falun Gong books, and blocked positive overseas reports regarding Falun Gong. The purpose is to prevent people from learning about Falun Gong and use lies to frame Falun Gong in order to justify its persecution. It is well known that cultivators of Falun Gong would not take any life, let alone human life.
Mr. Li Hongzhi said in Lecture Seven of Zhuan Falun, "The issue of killing is very sensitive. For practitioners, we have set the strict requirement that they cannot kill lives. Whether it is of the Buddha School, the Tao School, or the Qimen School, regardless of which school or practice it is, as long as it is an upright cultivation practice, it will consider this issue very absolute and prohibit killing--this is for sure." If the Jiang regime did not employ such a severe information blockage, people would be able to freely read Falun Gong books and there would not be any market for Jiang's regime to spread lies.
Bay Area Falun Gong practitioner Li Pei said, "Since 1999, when Jiang's regime started persecuting Falun Gong, it has been using lies to frame Falun Gong. The most typical example of their lies was the 'Tiananmen Square Self-immolation'. The International Education Development Organization pointed out that this was a staged tragedy. If one slows down the video broadcast by the Chinese Central TV, one can see that while Ms. Liu Chunling was struggling in the fire, she was knocked to the ground by a man wielding a blunt instrument. In addition, after the incident, Philip P. Pan, a reporter from the Washington Post, went to Liu Chunling's hometown to investigate. Liu's neighbors and acquaintances all said that they never saw Liu practicing Falun Gong. We have already made the analysis of this incident into video CDs and distributed them to people. Many people have learned about this staged tragedy."
Bay Area Falun Gong practitioner Zou Wei said, "The Xinhua News Agency published this article to frame Falun Gong when Falun Gong practitioners throughout the world were commemorating the death of Mr. Liu Chenjun, who sacrificed his life to try to bring the facts to Chinese people. Falun Gong practitioners from all over the world call for bringing Jiang Zemin, the chief perpetrator, to justice and to punish the police officers who are responsible for Mr. Liu's death. The practitioners' appeals drew attention from media throughout the world. At this point, the Xinhua News Agency published such an article. This is the Jiang regime's attempt to use this to distract people's attention and cover up the truth of its persecution."
Jiang's mouthpieces, including the Xinhua News Agency, have continually fabricated false news to deceive people, poison people's hearts and destroy people's morality.
Last year, the Chinese state-run media covered up the SARS outbreak, which caused the worldwide spread of the epidemic and many deaths. Over the past more than four years, the media controlled by the Jiang's regime used lies to demonize Falun Gong and further the persecution. As a result, many kind people who followed the principles of Truth-Compassion-Tolerance were killed or injured by the torture and persecution. We must expose the Jiang regime's lies and hold them responsible for their crimes.
(Clearwisdom.net, January 4, 2004) Because American citizen Charles Li planed to use cable TV to expose the Jiang regime's persecution of Falun Gong, he was arrested by the Chinese police officers at the Guangzhou Airport when he visited China in January 2003. Almost one year has passed. After Charles Li's arrest, Falun Gong practitioners outside China have been working hard to rescue him. Shortly before, a cross-America van tour was conducted to call for his release. Recently, a postcard signature collection campaign was carried out to express support.
To support the postcard campaign, on December 20, 2003, Indianapolis Falun Gong practitioners took the opportunity of a college basketball game to go to streets and introduce Falun Gong and the persecution to the American people and collect the signatures. They called upon President Bush to demand the Chinese government to unconditionally release American citizen, Dr. Charles Li.
At present, Charles Li is incarcerated in Nanjing Prison. He is deprived of the right to read Falun Gong books and do the exercises. He has been subjected to forced brainwashing, which is cruel mental torture. Meanwhile, thousands upon thousands of Falun Gong practitioners are suffering the same type of persecution in China.

After returning to China, she was arrested in Beijing on the 5th of January 2002 while distributing materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. Xiong Wei was later sent to Qinghe detention centre to be forcibly brainwashed and her home, as well as her parents' home, were searched and their property confiscated. December the 8th is Xiong Wei's birthday and because of this, Falun Gong practitioners in Hamburg went to the Chinese consulate to appeal for her release and to send righteous thoughts.

Voices of Justice Appeal for the Release of Xiong Wei
In Germany, Falun Gong practitioners have been to the Chinese consulate repeatedly to demonstrate the Falun Gong exercises, send forth righteous thoughts and appeal for her unconditional release. Practitioners have also made December 2003 "Broadcasting Month to Rescue Xiong Wei". German practitioners wrote, composed and recorded a song named "Release Xiong Wei", which was sent to many different broadcasting stations in Germany.
On July the 15th 2003, an Israeli MP, Dr. Marina Solodkin wrote a letter to the Chinese Ambassador in Israel, Pan Zhanlin, and strongly requested the ambassador to guarantee Ms. Xiong Wei's safety, as well as to urge him to seek her immediate release. Dr. Solodkin MP said that she was extremely worried about Ms. Xiong's safety and that she was detained only because she is a practitioner of Falun Gong. She also mentioned that Falun Gong is a peaceful cultivation practice, which has received worldwide acclaim and respect from over sixty countries, including Israel.
December the 8th is Xiong Wei's birthday. This year, a Berlin broadcasting station played the song written especially for Xiong Wei on the radio. The Chief Editor of the station thought that it was a respectful and bold deed, and hoped that practitioners' efforts to rescue Xiong Wei would be successful. Some of the stations commented "Alright, let's send radio waves to China!"
On March the 31st, a German MP named Mr. H. Groehe wrote a letter to the manager of the labour camp where Ms. Xiong is being detained and said that her situation had been brought to his attention. He also said that he wanted "to express my deeply distressed feelings via this letter to you from over 100,000 Falun Gong practitioners who are imprisoned in jails or labour camps and also there have also been several hundred confirmed deaths. Ms. Xiong Wei has peacefully exercised her rights to freedom of religion and freedom of speech. Therefore I earnestly request that you urge the authorities to release her immediately and guarantee her safe return."
Media Attention
The German media has paid attention to the persecution of Falun Gong by the Jiang regime in China, and especially to the case of Xiong Wei. On August the 19th, a German newspaper called Rhein-Neckar reported that Xiong Wei was sent to a labour camp in Beijing, solely because she distributed materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her husband in Mainland China has also been monitored. Xiong Wei once studied at the University of Berlin and made many friends in Heidelberg. As a result many people have made efforts to rescue her. Last January, three Heidelberg residents went to Tiananmen Square in Beijing to appeal to the Chinese government. In both Heidelberg and Mannheim, people have been collecting signatures to rescue Xiong Wei. Michael Hackmayer and Jazeck Wohlers have also written a song for her.
On June 16th, a German newspaper named the Bayerwald Echo reported that Falun Gong practitioners arrived at Marquette Square in Chamer city centre to let the Chinese residents there know about the persecution currently happening in their homeland of. It was reported that approximately 700 Falun Gong practitioners in China have been tortured to death, tens of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners have been arrested and placed into prison. This persecution is totally unwarranted. During this activity, Falun Gong practitioners collected signatures and appealed to the German government to rescue Falun Gong practitioner Xiong Wei, who is being persecuted in China.
On April the 30th, German media Weinheim News also reported that the German Falun Dafa Association, with the assistance of Germany's International Human Rights Association (IGFM), held an information day on the main street of Weinheim. The information day was based on "Making a joint effort to stop the Jiang regime's persecution of Falun Gong. Through this, many people learned about the situation of human rights in China. The day before, Mayor Mr. Rudi Glock had already signed a petition letter from the International Human Rights Association to the German government, which is to appeal to the German government to help in the rescue of former Berlin Industrial University student, Ms. Xiong Wei.
On April the 28th the German newspaper Rhein-Neckar reported on the
German International Human Rights Association (IGFM)'s activity to rescue Xiong
Wei, and pointed out that the appeal is not solely to help Ms. Xiong Wei, but
also to let people know about the human rights violations during the persecution
of Falun Gong practitioners in China.
United Voice Stop the Persecution
German practitioners wrote, composed and recorded a song named "Release Xiong
Wei." Having understood the facts, a German radio station broadcast this song on
Xiong Wei's birthday. The German people have also learned about Xiong Wei's
story and the persecution. Several months ago during the "rescue Xiong Wei
telephone week", the song was also sent to mainland China via the telephone.

This year the Christmas visitors to the city were greeted by the sight of Falun Gong practitioners demonstrating the Falun Gong exercises. Since this is the fifth year that practitioners have been demonstrating the exercises on the busiest street in Dublin, many people are already familiar with Falun Gong and the persecution in China.

Over the past five years, practitioners have handed out tens of thousands of copies of leaflets and other materials. Practitioners have also talked with thousands of passersby. On top of this, many more people have come to begin to practice Falun Gong.
The main way of spreading Falun Gong to the people of Dublin has been the weekly Saturday demonstration on Grafton Street, one of the main streets in Dublin. Practitioners have told passersby of the goodness of Falun Dafa and have explained to them the crimes that the Jiang regime has committed against Falun Gong in Mainland China.
Dafa practitioners have also held a symbolic public trial of Jiang Zemin's crimes on this street. The lawsuits filed against Jiang worldwide and the ongoing efforts to bring Jiang to justice in people's hearts, and in a court of law have also been emphasized and brought to people's attention.

(Clearwisdom.net) On January 1, as the only Chinese group, Falun Gong practitioners participated the Philadelphia Mummers New Year's Day Parade, which is the oldest annual New Year's parade in the U.S. More than 10,000 people participated in the performance this year, and many people even came from a long way to watch this unique holiday celebration. The participants dressed up in colorful costumes and were accompanied by unique music; this arrangement is to promote good values and celebrate the New Year.
The theme of practitioners' performance was, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance." Practitioners demonstrated Falun Gong exercises on a beautiful float with "Truthfulness- Compassion-Tolerance", "Happy Holidays" and "The World Need Truthfulness Compassion Tolerance" banners hanging from it. Practitioners also performed the "Heavenly Maiden Dance", "Fan Dance", "Waist Drum" and "Dragon Dance." Through their performance, Falun Gong practitioners showed the spectators the essence of traditional Chinese culture.
Practitioners said: "We hope that we can present Falun Gong's fundamental
principle, "Truthfulness- Compassion-Tolerance" to the audience. We sincerely
hope that everyone will have a happy new year."
Spectators crowded both sides of the parade procession, and many applauded the Falun Gong practitioners' outstanding performance. Many people, including some police officers, accepted and read truth-clarifying fliers from practitioners. There were also many Chinese in the audience, and they were very proud of the practitioners' performance.
Mr. Shunsan Li came to Philadelphia a half year ago from Zhejiang Province. He said: "The Chinese Dragon and Lion Dances as well as the Waist Drum are very good. I am very excited seeing a Chinese performance of this quality."
Sali and her husband said: "This is our first time to watch this New Year's parade. We like it. We are very glad to see a Chinese group displaying Chinese culture."
(Clearwisdom.net) The annual "First Night" Festival of Toronto opened on December 29, 2003. This is one of the most important New Year's celebration events in Toronto. The Falun Gong Practitioner Waist Drum Team was invited to perform at the evening celebration party.
The theme of this year's evening party, which was held at the famous Toronto landmark-the Skydome Stadium, was "Children and Peace." The performers included many famous Canadian singers and dancers as well as DAREarts, which had children performing with the international Centipede Children's Choir at the 100th Anniversary Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo in 2001.
This was the first time that two Chinese groups were invited to perform in a large-scale celebration event of this kind. The Falun Gong Practitioner Waist Drum Team was one of the two groups. 48 practitioners were dressed all in gold yellow suits with a yellow kerchief around their heads and a piece of silk cloth around their waists. The practitioners' first appearance on the stage gave spectators a new and fresh look. Their movements were in good order. With the drums making vibrant and rhythmic sounds and the red silk fabric on the drumsticks flying up and down, the stage was filled with dazzling color. Accompanied by the upbeat music, practitioners changed formations frequently, one moment showing Rotating Falun, and then changing to Two Dragons Spraying Water. When the performance ended, enthusiastic applause burst out. Practitioners then came out with a "The World Needs Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" banner to answer the curtain call.
One practitioner said: "Upon receiving the invitation to this large-scale performance, every one of us was very happy. We felt that this was a good opportunity to let people see the beauty of Falun Dafa. To prepare this performance, more than 40 practitioners practiced very hard on weekends and holidays. Sometime practitioners practiced outdoors in the chilly wind. Our hard work paid off, as the spectators liked our performance very much. "
The person in charge of the DAREarts Choir and the director of this evening party highly commended the practitioners' performance: "No need to mention how well their fine performance and skills are; the more important thing is that they have brought us the joy that comes from deep in the heart. It was really charming. Their smiles are unforgettable. I got the impression that they are a group of people who love life very much."

Facts of the Persecution
The police officers in Baiqi Town, Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province are violating the Chinese Constitution. They have been kidnapping their own residents simply because they exercise their freedom of personal belief in Falun Dafa. A record of the police officer's crimes follows.
On December 7, 2003, police abducted a 34-year-old resident of Wujia Village Mr. Wang Yong. In addition, Ms. Zhao Zhiju, a 54-year-old resident of Wujia Village, and Ms. Tang Shurong, 63-year-old resident of Huangqi Village, were taken away. On December 10, 2003, police from the Jiguan Mountain Police Station abducted three female Fengcheng City Dafa practitioners at Jiguan Mountain. The women who were persecuted included Ms. Zhang Shengqin and Ms. Cai Shuqing, and Ms. Luo, all in their 50's. These women were handing out materials which present the true, good, and enduring nature of Falun Dafa and the truth behind lies that the Jiang Zemin regime uses as an excuse to abduct, torture, and even to murder innocent practitioners. All the Dafa practitioners who have been named here are being detained in Fengcheng City Detention Center at the time of writing this article.
On December 9, 2003, plainclothes policemen abducted Dafa practitioners in Daqin City, Heilongjiang Province. Ms. Feng Zhengju and Ms. Zhao Xiuying were arrested while they were making truth-clarification materials at No. 3 Oil Extraction Plant of Daqin City Oil Field Company in Sa District, Daqin City, Heilongjiang Province. Afterwards, the police ransacked their homes without any court search warrant and looted anything of value. On November 25, 2003, the police from Rang District, Daqin City abducted Dafa practitioner Ms. Feng Lianxia.
Ms. Yue Xia and her son Mr. Yue Ping are Dafa practitioners from Weifang City, Shandong Province. They have been to Beijing multiple times to exercise their Constitutional right to appeal for Falun Dafa and peacefully clarify the truth about Falun Dafa to the Chinese government. Their efforts have been ongoing since July 20, 1999, but they have suffered from illegal treatment and atrocious torture at the hands of law enforcement officers as a result. Eventually the mother and the son were forced to leave home in order to escape the persecution. The police abducted Ms. Yue Xia in 2000 and 2001. During this dark time, she was placed first in Hanting Detention Center and, the next year, in Wangcun Forced Labor Camp. Each time, as she continued to strive to clarify the truth about Falun Dafa and the persecution against Falun Dafa, she contributed to bringing about her unconditional release as a result of her righteous thoughts and her righteous actions. On September 27, 2003, the police officers abducted Ms. Yue Xia and her son Mr. Yue Ping, again. The Kuiwen Court held a secret trial and illegally sentenced Ms. Yue Xia to 12 years in prison. Ms. Yue was thrown into Jinan Female Prison in Shandong Province, where she has been suffering from unimaginable physical and spiritual tortures. Mr. Yue Ping was illegally sentenced to 3 years in prison, and now she is illegally detained in Weibei Forced Labor Camp.
[With no worry about the source and availability of Falun Gong practitioners as slaves, the captive workforce is driven to the limit, regardless of whether the incarcerated practitioners are sick, disabled from being beaten, or weakened by the intolerable conditions. There is no living condition to consider in forced labor camps, farms and forced detention centers, as any improvement in condition will take away from profit. Illegally incarcerated Dafa practitioners are simply treated as objects from which to extract the maximum amount of labor, to be released when half-dead and replaced with new ones.]
Party Committee Secretary Ms. Ying Shuqin in the Agriculture and Telegraph Offices in Liaozhong County, Liaoning Province has been actively persecuting Dafa practitioners at the Agriculture and Telegraph Offices. She targets those practitioners who are determined in cultivating in Falun Dafa. She has laid them off without any valid reason and only given them barely enough every month for living expenses; she has also forced them to quit their gainful employment, in addition to abducting Dafa practitioners to Zhangshi Forced Brainwashing Center. As a perpetrator of crimes against Falun Dafa practitioners, Party Committee Secretary Ms. Ying Shuqin also forced female employees at the Agriculture and Telegraph Offices to write fraudulent testimonies slandering Falun Dafa and to sign pre-written guarantees to renounce Falun Dafa. People who assisted in the persecution at the Agriculture and Telegraph Offices include: Ms. Ying Shuqin, Mr. Yang Weitao, Ms. Lu Qingqing, Mr. Liu Yudong, Mr. Ma Yunxue, Mr. Du Shichang, Mr. Zhang Fuju, Mr. Meng Qinbin, Mr. Xu Shiying, Mr. An Weizhong, and Mr. Wang Baoshan.
Mr. Ba Qijin is the Principal of the 2nd High School in Liaozhong County, Liaoning Province. Around July 20, 1999 when Jiang Zemin started to openly persecute Dafa practitioners, Principal Ba suspended the salaries and annual bonuses of the seven Dafa practitioners who were faculty and staff members of the school and went to Beijing to peacefully appeal for Falun Dafa. He has also coerced the faculty and staff of the school to write fraudulent testimonies against Falun Dafa after the same fashion in which the Chinese Communist Party produced fraudulent testimonies against people or ideologies during the Great Culture Revolution. Moreover, Principal Ba laid off Dafa practitioners in his school without any valid reason. Afterwards, two of the remaining Dafa practitioners working at the 2nd High School in Liaozhong County went to Beijing again to appeal for Falun Dafa. Principal Ba collected 8,000 Yuan of illegal fines each from two Dafa practitioners, including Ms. Sun Hongyan, and he then abducted them to the forced labor camp. [500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China.] As for the rest of the Dafa practitioners at school, Principal Ba abducted them to Zhang Shi Forced Brainwashing Center. People who assisted in the persecution at the 2nd High School in Liaozhong County, Liaoning Province include: Mr. Ba Qijin (Principal), Mr. Meng Xianyao, Mr. Zhang Shouwen, Mr. Xu Quanyang, Mr. Liu Lishan, Mr. Dong Qinghai, Mr. Liao Hongyan, Mr. Fu Yu, Mr. Wei Shijia, Ms. Dong Yanli, Mr. Lu Chengquan.
Ms. Zhang Huiqing is a 67-year-old Dafa practitioner in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province. On the night of November 15, 2003, a patrol hired by the police abducted Ms. Zhang by force to Huaidi Police Station in Yuhua District while she was posting flyers containing the truth about Falun Dafa and the persecution in Huaidi Village. The police from Huaidi Police Station ransacked her home and looted everything of value, and then put her under illegal detention in the 2nd Detention Center in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province. On December 3, 2003, Ms. Zhang Huiqing was illegally sentenced to two years in the forced labor camp.
Harbin Dafa practitioner Mr. Xue Guijie was illegally detained once prior to year 2002 for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa. In May 2002, the police abducted Mr. Xue again and illegally sentenced him to 1 1/2 years in prison. At the time of this article, Mr. Xue is being illegally detained in Wuchang City Forced "Reform School," which is in fact another forced brainwashing center.
News and Activities Around the World
Dafa practitioners in Thailand participated as exhibitors in the 8th "Psychological Science Expo in Thailand" that was held from December 10 to 14 of 2003. They rented two exhibition lots and set it up for promoting Dafa and clarifying the truth. Many people stopped by the booth, asked for Falun Dafa materials, looked at the Falun Dafa exhibits, and purchased the Chinese or Thai version of Zhuan Falun and The Great Consummation Way of Falun Dafa. People kept coming to the booth, asking to learn Falun Gong exercises on the spot. Some of them included students, government or corporate employees, local residents, police officers, and Buddhist nuns. Truth clarification print materials and VCD's were among the most frequently requested materials during this event. Dafa practitioners also demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises on stage, and explained the cultivation principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance, as well as the truth about Jiang Zemin's persecution against Falun Gong.
People's Hearts: Exploring Cause and Effect
Tuanhe District, Beijing:
Tuanhe Procuratorate has been established in Beijing with the sole purpose of monitoring the conduct of policemen in all prisons and forced labor camps in the Tuanhe District. Some family members of Dafa practitioners illegally detained in the Tuanhe District, acted with a righteous conviction, filing official complaints to Tuanhe Procuratorate. These family members reported the inhuman, illegal atrocities their Dafa practitioner family members had suffered in the prisons and forced labor camps, and demanded justice and disciplinary actions served upon those police officers who tortured practitioners. The Tuanhe Procuratorate has opened cases to investigate the police officers reported to have violated the criminal laws as well as other laws in China.
Baishang City, Jilin Province:
Since July 20, 1999, the former Secretary of Baishan City Party Committee Mr. Wang Chun and Deputy Secretary Mr. Li Decai forced Dafa practitioners working in the Baishan City government in Jilin Province to sign pre-written guarantees to renounce Falun Dafa, and coerced middle and higher levels of government employees who cultivated in Falun Dafa to renounce Falun Dafa. The following employees were among many Dafa practitioners who were coerced by the secretary and his deputy into making fraudulent testimonies against Falun Dafa on TV: the former Chairman of Baishan City Women's League, the former Chairman of Baishan City Committee's Political Research Office, the former Standing Committee Member of Jingyu County Committee, and the former Director of Baishan City Propaganda Department Mr. Gong Siguang.* Later Mr. Gong Siguang made a solemn declaration that all of his testimonies were null and void and resumed cultivating in Falun Dafa. As a result, Mr. Gong was fired from the post and expelled from the Chinese Communist Party. The former Deputy Principal of Baishan City Committee's Party School gave in to the atrocious tortures and gave up cultivating in Falun Dafa. After he renounced Falun Dafa, the ailment he suffered from prior to practicing Falun Gong resurfaced. When the former Deputy Principal asked for medical treatments, Baishan City Committee demanded that he write a guarantee not to practice Falun Gong as a condition. Stricken by the depths of despair, the former Deputy Principal jumped out of the building and killed himself in September 1999, as a result of the coercion and pressure. The desperate environment created for citizens of China in 1999 is directly linked to the atrocities initiated by the Jiang regime. For the past four years, there have been at least 62 Dafa practitioners illegally sentenced to serve time in the forced labor camps, at least 7 practitioners illegally sentenced to serve time in prison, and at least 7 practitioners tortured to death in the Baishan area of Jilin Province.

Gaoyi County, Hebei Province:
Mr. Wang Xingguo was the former Chairman of the Political Security Office in the Gaoyi County Public Security Bureau. He initiated monitoring and abducting of local Dafa practitioners. He also illegally used electroshock torture on detained Dafa practitioners. In addition to using these electric batons (also known as cattle prods--a common torture tool of the Chinese police) Wang Xingguo tried to force them to curse the founder of Falun Dafa. Mr. Wang is now suffering from a heart disease requiring open-heart surgery.

Fujian Province:
The government and Party officials in Fujian Province have continued to open new forced brainwashing sessions. Each time they opened a new forced brainwashing session, they had no qualms about claiming to their superiors that a large budget increase was urgently needed to sustain long-term forced brainwashing sessions. These officials maintained that the forced brainwashing sessions were absolutely necessary to make the determined Dafa practitioners renounce Falun Gong. The truth is that they increase this budget in order to skim a large portion off the top, dividing the stolen money as end-of-year bonuses. This is a small, localized glimpse at the picture of how the Jiang regime has spent one quarter of China's resources persecuting Falun Gong practitioners.
Liaoning Province:
The following abridged criminal record was accumulated by a middle school principal, who is responsible for harming his own students and faculty. This record refers to the Principal of the 7th Middle School in Beipiao City, Liaoning Province:
In doing these things, the principal has caused great damage to the people that he was responsible for serving. Through his crimes he created an environment that interfered with the students' learning and the with the classroom instruction of various faculty members. By persecuting innocent Dafa practitioners who walked his halls, he has undermined the success of his own institution, jeopardizing not only his own future happiness and that of the people he saw everyday, but harming many in his town and in the wider society, as the hateful propaganda that he spread trickles out from its source. The principal was doubtlessly also a victim of the vicious lies and slander sent out at a great expense from the "610 office." Nevertheless, he is a man of responsibility who has made his own choice to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. This is truly sad, and the writer can only hope that the tragedy of this example can serve as impetus for change in the hearts of any who have been poisoned by the Jiang regime's lies. Time is of the essence, as it is never to soon to reverse a negative position. Please consider the future, and even the effect that might be brought upon others. We can all strive for many compassionate changes.
* "610 Office" is a bureau specifically created by the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong. It has absolute power over each level of administration in the Party, as well as over the political and judiciary branches. Due to pressure from the international community, the Chinese Communist government has renamed the "610 Office" on October 15, 2003, and lied to the world, stating that the "610 Office" has been "disbanded."

Facts of the Persecution
1) Chen Zhongwei, the party secretary of Benxi Education Center and chairman of the Benxi "610 Office"* has committed many crimes against Falun Gong practitioners. He persecutes Falun Gong practitioners in two ways. One is the brainwashing class that mainly focuses on spiritual persecution. Another is brainwashing using violence and physical torture. Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Qiu Zhiyan was tortured and had ulcers on all 10 fingers. Song Yuegang was hung up with his body suspended for over 20 days, and was locked to a chair for over a month. Zhao Chenglin was beaten until his head was distorted. He had ulcers on the hips and he was in critical condition. Mr. Wang Jicai's spine was broken. Wang Zhehao from Dalian was beaten so badly his body was covered with blood. Liu Hongchun fell from the 3rd floor. His skull was broken and he immediately passed out.
2) The police at Qinduankou Prison in Hubei Province ordered the most vicious criminals in the prison to monitor Falun Gong practitioners. During forced labor, the criminals deliberately made things difficult for the practitioners and even forced them to stand for a long time. One Falun Gong practitioner who did not want to write a letter denouncing Falun Gong was beaten by several thugs. They beat him with chairs and fists, and kicked him. When they got tired they used a thin steel wire to hang a bucket of water around his neck until he fainted. Another practitioner was beaten on the chest with a metal pipe until he was close to death. He was later sent to the hospital and could not stand on his own until he had received two days of treatment. One Falun Gong practitioner was forced to stand against the corner of a room and was not allowed to sleep for several nights in a row.
3) In March 2003, the first brainwashing session attempting to force Falun Gong practitioners to give up their belief was held at Luotai Villa in Fushun City, Liaoning Province. Staff members at the first brainwashing session used the following methods: 1. Every morning, Falun Gong practitioners were forced to watch videos that slander Falun Gong, and in the afternoon they were forced to share their understandings. 2. Practitioners were forced to write the 3 letters: a letter of regret, a letter of exposition, and a letter of denouncing Falun Gong. 3. The staff at the brainwashing session carried out the so-called "signature and pledge" activities. 4. The staff at the brainwashing session threateningly asked practitioners whether they would lie to journalists by criticizing and slandering Falun Gong. 5. Party secretaries from practitioners' local districts were asked to come to the session to conduct "conversations" with practitioners. During the one-month brainwashing session Falun Gong practitioners and their families were severely hurt both spiritually and financially.
4) In mid November 2002, the Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Center started the so-called "Transformation Battle by Force" to force Falun Gong practitioners to give up their beliefs. The basement of the center became a living hell. The police used electric batons to shock Falun Gong practitioners all over their bodies. They beat and cursed at practitioners. Some practitioners' hair was pulled out in clumps. The whole building smelled of burning flesh. Practitioners were tortured to the point of their bodies being black and blue all over. Some practitioners were tortured so badly that their heads swelled; some were beaten and lost their sight or hearing. Some practitioners were shaved. Many practitioners were tortured to the point of suffering mental breakdowns.
5) Luo Yuze of Yingshan County, Sichuan Province is a retired teacher of Yingshan Middle School. He is over eighty years old. Luo's wife passed away in 2000, and his son passed away in May 2001. Luo, his daughter-in-law, and two grandsons live on his 600 Yuan per month retirement pension. As Luo practices Falun Gong, he was arrested, detained and had his home searched five times. The schoolmaster Li Zhongyue and policeman Tang Kang occupy his house. Luo had to rent a place to live.
6) In October 1999, thirteen Falun Gong practitioners from Dashagou of Qingyuan County, Fushuan City, Liaoning Province went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. They were arrested and sent back to the Dashagou Detention Center. One day they were discovered practicing Falun Gong exercises, and the guard beat them up. It was very cold in October, yet guard Liu was sweating profusely from beating the Falun Gong practitioners.
7) Crimes of the Suihua Labor Education Center in Heilongjiang Province: Yang Bo deceived Falun Gong practitioners with distorted facts and false kindness. In addition, he used practitioners' family members to help persuade them to stop practicing Falun Gong. He also threatened practitioners and got the police to torture practitioners. Fan Xiaodong took bribes and created terror. He has participated in the persecution of nearly 100 practitioners. Zeng Lingjun was notorious for beating and kicking people. He beat nearly 50 practitioners. Gao Zhonghai was also very vicious and known to take bribes. He persecuted close to 200 practitioners.
8) Yin Lizhu, a Falun Gong practitioner and former student of Jinlin Institute of Engineering, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong on September 27, 1999. He was arrested and detained at the Changchun Detention Center for half a month. He was illegally dismissed from school. In August 2000, he went to Beijing to appeal again and was arrested when the train arrived at Jinzhou City. He was detained for seven days at the Jinzhou Railroad Detention Center. On December 6, 2000 he went to Tiananmen Square alone and was abducted by the police. On December 12, 2000 he was taken by Changchun public security and sent directly to the Qianan Detention Center, where he was detained for over a year. In 2001 he was illegally sentenced to 5 years in prison and was sent to the Tiebei Prison in Changchun, where he is currently being detained.
9) Guo Danxia, a Falun Gong practitioner of Yueyanglou District, Yueyang City, Hunan Province, was abducted in the jurisdiction of Wulipai Police Station. A male practitioner was also abducted. They were first sent to the Hubin Detention Center and then transferred to the Kangle Garden Detention Center.
10) Crimes by the police of Daqing City in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners (attached with facts of the retributions):
I. Crimes by the police of Rang District, Daqing City, in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners: In November 2003, the police abducted Falun Gong practitioners Pu Xinjun, Zang Yuzhen, Gao Shuqin, Zhang Bifang, and Feng Lianxia, etc.
II. The crimes of the "610 Office" of Daqing City: 1. Falun Gong practitioner Chen Bihua from Babaixiang, Daqing City, who was abducted on September 30, 2003 was illegally sentenced to one-year of forced labor. Currently she is detained at Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Center. 2. Falun Gong practitioner Liu Jingfang was abducted on November 17, 2003 and is currently detained at the Daqing Hongweixing Brainwashing Center.
III. Crimes by the police against Falun Gong practitioners in Sa District, Daqing City: Falun Gong practitioners Fan Zhengju, Zhao Xiuying were abducted by plainclothes police on December 9, 2003. Their homes were later searched.
IV. Crimes by the police against Falun Gong practitioners at Longfeng District, Daqing City: 1. In mid-December 2003, the police abducted Falun Gong practitioner Yang Xiuli. 2. Falun Gong practitioner Zhang Shuwen was abducted by the Longfeng Police Department on November 28, 2003.
11) Ms. Li Hongling, 29, is a Falun Gong practitioner from Hunan Province. Since 1998, when she graduated from college, she has been teaching English at Xintang Middle School and Xintang Second Middle School in Xintang County, Zengcheng District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. She is very much liked by her students and coworkers. In the past four years she has been detained and tortured for continuing her Falun Gong cultivation. On November 19, 2003 Li Hongling was arrested and sent to the Baishi Police Station. She was later transferred to the Zengcheng District Detention Center Criminal Section. The charge was spreading Falun Gong materials.
12) On December 18, 2003 Sun Ke, a citizen of Dehui City, was abducted and severely beaten by police for exposing their crime of detaining Falun Gong practitioners. Police also fabricated facts to harm Sun Ke. Later the scheme was exposed and they released him.
People's Minds and Karmic Retribution
Zhang Lirao, a team head of Huanxiangdian Village in Huashan County, Licheng District, Jinan City, Shandong Province inhumanly persecuted Falun Gong practitioners. He made all out efforts to send people to brainwashing classes and labor education centers. In September 2003 he got cancer. Two months later he had an operation, but it developed into lymph node cancer. Currently he can barely talk. His telephone number is 86-531-8605700.
News from China
Around New Year of 2001, the Erdao Township Government of Fengman District, Jilin City, Jilin Province took video cameras to many families, trying to find Falun Gong practitioners, then shoot videos to slander Falun Gong. It was broadcast on the news program of China Central TV station. The program said that over 600 Falun Gong practitioners from that township have been transformed. It is a total lie. In the spring of a recent year, Channel 3 of Fengman District broadcasted that Erdao Township held a brainwashing class, and that Huang San, a self-proclaimed Falun Gong practitioner, said that Falun Gong "harmed him." Several non-practitioners were also on the video. Actually there was no brainwashing class and no one was "transformed." It was a show made by the township government.
