Germany: Activities to Rescue Xiong Wei in Chamer City (Photos)

December 2003 saw Xiong Wei spend a second birthday in Beijing Xinan labor camp. Practitioners in Chamer and the surrounding cities held a series of rescue activities to let more people know about Xiong Wei's situation and learn the brutal facts of the persecution of Falun Gong by Jiang's regime.

December 8 is Xiong Wei's birthday and German practitioners wished Xiong Wei a Happy Birthday from the lobby of a large supermarket in Chamer City, where they distributed materials about Falun Gong and postcards calling for the rescue of Xiong Wei to passers-by.

We arrived at the supermarket early in the morning to discover that a thoughtful rug dealer had moved his goods elsewhere to let us use a convenient plug socket for our information desk and to play Dafa music. The supermarket lobby manager told us early in the morning that she had already read our materials about Falun Gong and would like to consult a higher authority to reduce the rent for us. At the time of applying for the activity venue, we had inquired by telephone whether or not we could obtain a reasonable discount for the rent because of the nature of the activity. At that time the manager said firmly that it was a unified rent without exceptions. After learning the truth about Dafa, she finally managed to reduce the rent by half, and still expressed her apologies repeatedly. We could feel that, from her own perspective, she was not willing to charge Falun Gong practitioners a penny.

Many customers came straight to our information desk to sign their names. They all said that they already know the truth about Falun Gong from reading the newspapers. Before this activity, practitioners informed reporters and hoped they could cover the event. So reporters had already posted announcements about the activity on the front page of local newspapers by the time the event arrived. A lady told us that she has read all the reports about Falun Gong in newspapers and wanted to take more postcards calling for the rescue of Xiong Wei to give to people. Also many people were very interested in learning the exercises.

On the same day, two reporters came to interview practitioners and report on our activities. One reporter signed his name on the petition form calling for the rescue of Xiong Wei as soon as he arrived at the site. One newspaper's Chief Editor reported on our activity in person, and published photos of the activity along with a postcard calling for the rescue of Xiong Wei on the front page of the newspaper on World Human Rights Day.

The media reports helped many people learn the truth about Falun Gong. On the following weekend, we also applied to conduct activities calling for the rescue of Xiong Wei in the city center. Also before the Christmas holidays, we managed to collect petition signatures for sending Christmas cards to Xiong Wei. We sent all the Christmas cards and the collected signatures for Beijing Xinan Women Labor Camp. For this activity to send Xiong Wei Christmas cards, the local newspaper also reported in advance and published a photo plus a poem in German called "Sit by my side." The photo was taken in July 2002 at Washington DC, which had the characters "FALUN DAFA - Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" comprised by candlelight and held aloft by practitioners.

A series of the rescuing Xiong Wei's activities made people thoroughly understand Falun Gong and the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong happening in China, which helped to call for justice and conscience, and also would bring good people a bright future.
