Feedback to Practitioners Producing Truth-Clarification Materials

(Clearwisdom.net) In December 2002, the Chinese Minghui.org website published two articles indicating that certain fellow practitioners in China held an improper perception regarding a prophecy published on the Chinese Zhengjian.org website. The prophecy pertained to the time of the Fa-rectification in the human realm. The authors of these two articles strongly suggested that Dafa practitioners should not hold fast to the prophecy. I sincerely hope that those particular practitioners in China, who produce truth-clarification materials with content selected from Chinese Dafa web sites, do not ignore these two articles. However, I understand that fellow practitioners in certain areas of Beijing continued to read the prophecy in all earnestness and circulated them among Dafa practitioners. Some practitioners who are stubbornly attached to the prophecy even planned to publish the prophecy in a flyer for easier reading. Teacher has already cautioned us regarding our mind-set with respect to the prophecy.

Teacher said,

"Dafa disciples can't do things according to some prophecy, though. You should do things according to the Great Law! You should do things according to what Dafa disciples should do! And you shouldn't do things by following something else. [...]

They aren't for Dafa disciples to use as references in their own cultivation! [...]

Dafa disciples should just do things according to the Great Law. You are creating history, you are creating the future, and anything arranged by anyone else doesn't count. Whatever anyone has seen is from the past and has already changed. Even if a few events happen to be the same, those were only arranged as needed by the overall arrangement, that's all." Only Teacher's pronouncements can guide Dafa practitioners in their cultivation. The three tasks, studying the Fa well, clarifying the truth, and sending forth righteous thoughts, can only be carried out according to the Law Teacher taught us. Teacher has already clarified the only purpose these prophecies hold.

Teacher said,

"Many prophecies, for example--no matter whether they are accurate or not regarding the later stage--can shock and frighten the evil, give the world's people hints, and warn and wake up the world's people. So they can have certain positive effects." ("Teaching and Explaining the Fa at the Metropolitan New York Fa Conference")

These prophecies will only interfere with us or even have a damaging effect on our cultivation should we become attached to the time of the Fa-rectification in the human realm, or should we fail to have a clear understanding of Teacher's Fa-rectification or Dafa disciples' validation of the Fa.

I have learned a bitter lesson myself from following the prophecy. When I first read Notes by Ge An (an ancient prophecy written by a Korean prophet) published on Chinese Zhengjian.org, I was not aware that I had already accepted and began using it as a reference in my cultivation. Furthermore, I did not have a very clear understanding of Teacher's Fa-rectification or Dafa practitioners' validation of the Fa. I had accepted the prophecy and thus imagined myself being illegally imprisoned if I should go to Tiananmen Square to appeal for, persevere in cultivating in, or step forward to safeguard Dafa. As a result, I became obsessed by the thought that I would lose my freedom and be illegally imprisoned at any minute. Because I followed the prophecy and not Teacher's teaching, I anticipated being sent to a forced labor camp in my heart and thus the thought became reality.

All Dafa practitioners who voluntarily produce truth-clarification materials have great responsibilities. They must select and edit the content for each publication. They must also take into consideration the specific and unique situation in their respective city or area. To attain their goal, they should read articles on Chinese Minghui.org diligently and carefully, and thoroughly assess the situation in their respective city or area. They must communicate with practitioners who distribute these materials to receive constant feedback. It may be a good idea to even create different selections of truth-clarification materials, tailoring them to readers according to their respective environment. Finally, I would like to remind these volunteers to keep up with Fa study. It is only through studying the Fa well on a daily basis that a Dafa practitioner will be able to avoid making truth-clarification materials according to his personal attachments or preference. Only then can he avoid fostering or reinforcing fellow practitioners' attachments during this important material producing process.
