Stories of a Henan Province Farmer Clarifying the Facts With a Righteous Mind

(Clearwisdom.net) Dafa practitioner Lu Shunmin, in his fifties, is a farmer in Henan Province. Since he began practicing Falun Dafa, he has treasured it very much and made diligent progress.

In the past, as a farmer, during his spare time, he would work in the brick field. He earned a good income, the work was not too tiring, and it was a technical job. Since the persecution of Falun Gong began July 20, 1999, he felt that time was pressuring him. To expose the lies of Jiang's scoundrel regime and help more people learn the truth of Dafa, he decided to leave his well paying job. He chose a job that was hard, tiring and had a low income, but was less demanding of his time. This way he could squeeze out more time to clarify the truth.

Once, he distributed nearly one thousand truth-clarifying materials in just three nights. He began every evening, and distributed the materials until 3 or 4 in the morning. During the day, he worked as usual and didn't feel tired. Later, he realized that distributing flyers during the night wouldn't achieve the goal of clarifying the truth face to face. Therefore he squeezed out more time during the day to pass out the flyers, and he could then clarify the truth to the people face to face. In the village, many people attended the temple fair. He was also present at the fair, maintaining a righteous mind with righteous actions. He carried a big bag of truth-clarification materials and handed them to people with predestined relationships, male, female, old and young. In the fair, there was a young man wearing a uniform who didn't know the truth about Dafa. He shouted loudly with a threatening tone, "How dare you distribute Falun Gong leaflets in broad daylight. With one phone call, they will arrest you." He smiled and said to that person, "Falun Gong teaches people to lay emphasis on virtue, to do good deeds, and to be a good person. Now it is being persecuted. I am telling people the truth. This one is for you, you will understand when you go home and read it." That person took the flier, and walked away as he read it.

Once, he distributed materials at the home of a police station's captain. The captain caught him and didn't let him go. The son of the captain came out and saw this. He pulled his dad and said, "Let him go." The next day, in order to clarify the truth, he went to the police captain's home again. The captain looked at him and said, "How come it's you again? Why do you come here?" He smiled and said, "Today I come here to thank your son." So he used this opportunity to clarify the truth to them. The captain's whole family came to clearly understand the persecution.

In April 2002, a fellow practitioner had an accident and was arrested. The police abducted Lu Shunmin from his home and ransacked his whole house. The next day, they abducted his wife as well, who is also a practitioner. The police wanted to use Lu's wife to persuade him to give up his belief. When he saw his wife, he asked her, "How come you came here too?" The wife said, "They arrested me and brought me here." He said resolutely and decisively right away, "You must let go of life and death." Once these words came out of his mouth, the police saw his rock-solid faith in Dafa; they took his wife away right then.

During that period, he was illegally detained in the county detention center where he was brutally tortured, both mentally and physically. He was locked in a small cell and was forced to wear shackles and handcuffs. He was beaten badly and even fainted about three times, but he managed to wake up. He set aside life and death and still persisted in practicing the exercises, clarifying the truth and telling people more about Falun Dafa. Being illegally detained for one year, it didn't alter a bit his steadfast cultivation in Dafa and Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance. The evil didn't have any more ways to deal with him, so they sentenced him. While in the courtroom, he wore shackles and still managed to practice the exercises, facing the evil with no fear. Later, he was illegally and secretly sentenced to 8 years in prison. He was sent to Henan Province Xinmi Prison and suffered further persecution.

After the evil people abducted him, his financial situation at home was in a very difficult state. Since the whole family faced persecution during the past two years, the family farm was never fertilized. But a strange thing happened: The infertile land started to produce more and more. More crops were harvested from the unfertilized land than the fertilized land owned by other people in the village. The even stranger thing was that in this past autumn, for the other people of the village, the autumn plants all produced very little. However, for the practitioner family, each ear of corn was big and full. The yield was two and a half times more than the other family's. His wife told people as she met them, "This is Master's compassion, Dafa's power."
