The Story of a Hong Kong Family: Practicing Falun Gong Benefits the Whole Family

(Clearwisdom.net) One day, upon coming home after a long day at work, my husband cried aloud, "I have an awful headache and pain all over my body, my eyes feel like they are bursting out of my head." He said he felt like he was going to collapse. After about ten minutes he had a surprised look on his face and said, "This is so strange! Every time I come home sick, shortly after coming home, all my symptoms disappear. It just happened again right now, all my pain is totally gone and I feel fine again!" I said to him with a smile, "So do you believe me now? Our Teacher has said, ¡®We teach salvation of both ourselves and others, as well as of all beings. Thus, Falun can save oneself by turning inward and save others by turning outward. While turning outward, it gives off energy and can benefit others. This way, within your energy-covering field others will benefit, and they may feel very comfortable. Whether you are on the street walking, in the workplace, or at home, you can have this effect on others. People within your field may unintentionally have their illnesses healed since this field can rectify all abnormal conditions. A human body should not become ill, and being ill is an abnormal state. It can rectify this abnormal state.' (Lecture Three, Zhuan Falun) If one person practices Falun Gong, the whole family naturally will benefit." My husband smiled in agreement with my words.

Actually, I noticed this phenomenon long ago. Once I asked my husband, "Have you noticed that you seldom get sick since we [the wife, daughter and son) started practicing Falun Gong?" He didn't reply. I knew he thought it had something to this, but he wasn't about to admit it. After my daughter, son and I started practicing four years ago, all of us were able to stop taking the daily medicines that we used to rely on. Our health just keeps getting better and better. My husband has really witnessed this. But since he is stubborn and sticks to his concepts, he didn't believe that we could get rid of illnesses by just practicing Falun Gong, and he wouldn't believe in anything beyond his stubborn notions.

My husband has suffered for over 20 years from pains in his waist that immobilized his wrist when the sporadic pains occurred, and he suffered from other diseases too, like tracheitis (inflammation of the trachea), oral inflammation and eye diseases. Prescription drugs have always been his answer, although never totally effective. Each year, he would have one acute bought of enteritis in which he had loose bowels until he became severely dehydrated. Twice, he almost died from this affliction. It's been three years since he last had a relapse of this condition.

Before we practiced Falun Gong, whenever the flu came around, our whole family would get sick and suffer. Now, we don't get sick, and the flu seldom hits my husband either. If he does get the flu, he is fine in one or two days instead of being sick for over a week like he was before. One day, curious, he said, "In the old days, whenever the flu came, the whole family would be infected, why is it not so now?" I said, "Now we are Falun Gong practitioners, and the flu and other things like that don't affect us."

Along with our better health, we have also gained more tolerance. We think much more about others and are no longer so calculating of our own interests. Our family has become peaceful and full of compassion, we no longer quarrel with each other like before. These great changes convinced my husband that Falun Dafa is truly good, so he supports our practicing Falun Gong and has helped us to clarify the truth about the unjust persecution to other people. My husband has witnessed and experienced the fact that Falun Dafa is righteous and provides so many great benefits without causing any harm to people; he has understood that Falun Dafa is great.
