Southern California: Falun Gong Practitioners Win First Prize in Walnut City Parade (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On October 9, 2004, Falun Gong practitioners from San Diego and Los Angeles took part in "Walnut on Parade" as part of the Walnut Family Festival. The City of Walnut is located in the Los Angeles area. The parade judging committee praised the Falun Gong practitioners' procession, which won the first prize in the float category.

About one month ago, the "Walnut on Parade" coordinator contacted a Falun Gong practitioner in San Diego and invited practitioners to take part in the parade. It turned out that she once watched the San Diego practitioners' parade procession and loved the practitioners' elegant demeanor. She even offered to waive their registration fee.

Because local practitioners in the Los Angeles area already registered to attend a parade in another city on the same day, practitioners in San Diego decided to go to the city of Walnut. Practitioners in Los Angeles also provided them with support. Some of them actively helped with the float, the sound system, and the dance team.

Practitioners from the two places cooperated closely, and the procession they put together, including a waist drum troupe, a float and a dance team dressed in Tang Dynasty costumes, were warmly received along the parade route.
