Germany: Anti-Torture Exhibition on Marienplatz Square Exposes Atrocities and Appeals for an End to the Persecution (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) The annual Munich Beer Festival came to an end on October the 2nd, but tourists from around the world still wandered around Munich doing some last minute sightseeing, and Marienplatz Square was a must-see tourist attraction for them.

One after another, people come to learn about Falun Gong

Dafa practitioners from Munich and other nearby cities held activities to let more people know about Falun gong and the brutal persecution in China, including demonstrations of the five sets of Falun Gong exercises, a display of posters and an anti-torture exhibition in Marienplatz Square. A huge banner reading "Bring Jiang Zemin to Justice" stood proudly behind them. On the desk, a thank-you note was displayed to inform the public that Ms. Xiong Wei, a former student of the Technical University of Berlin, was finally rescued from illegal incarceration in a Chinese labor camp and is now back in Germany. The letter expressed thanks to all people that made efforts to rescue Xiong Wei.

Since Jiang's political group started to suppress Falun Gong in July 1999, they have used the state-controlled propaganda machine and everything else within their power to fuel an inhuman and brutal campaign of genocide against those who want to live by Falun Gong's guiding principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance". To date, there have been 1,059 Dafa practitioners killed in this persecution. As a result, lots of children have become orphans and many happy families have been destroyed. Countless people have lost their jobs because they refuse to renounce their beliefs, while many young people have been expelled from school because they or their family members practice Falun Gong. Falun Gong practitioners are subject to brainwashing, imprisonment in forced labor camps, cruel torture and confinement to mental hospitals. The only objective for these atrocities is to force them to give up their belief in the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance." Recently, due to the international society's condemnation, this persecution has been carried out away from the public eye. However, behind the scenes, the persecution continues to take the lives of innocent Falun Gong practitioners.

After viewing the posters and the anti-torture exhibition, many people asked how they could help the practitioners suffering in Mainland China. Some said that they would take home leaflets for their relatives and friends; some signed a petition to "Bring Jiang Zemin to Justice." Since too many people wanted to sign the petition, the practitioners ran out of signature books.

Based on the experiences accumulated in the Beer Festival last year, practitioners prepared a lot of flyers in Italian. When asked if they needed some information, the tourists first shook their heads, saying that they were Italians. But when a practitioner handed out the flyers in Italian to them, they appeared to be surprised and excited. They started to accept flyers eagerly. As the practitioner gave away one flyer, there were even four or five hands stretching out at the same time to take a flyer. The practitioner who was distributing the flyers could hardly handle the demand.

As soon as they heard the Falun Dafa music, saw posters of the persecution or looked at the anti-torture exhibits, people came over in droves to learn the facts, and even the tourists who came from China were no exception. Many of these Chinese tourists accepted the flyers happily and had a group picture taken in front of the Falun Gong display boards. However, it was a shame that there were still some of them who didn't want to listen to the truth.
