Urgent Appeal to Rescue Falun Dafa Practitioners in Danger of Dying Due to Brutal Persecution in Jilin Prison By a Falun Dafa Practitioner from Jilin City, Jilin Province
(Clearwisdom.net) Many Falun Dafa practitioners are being illegally
held at No.2 Prison of Jilin Province, also known as Jilin Prison. Three
practitioners, Mr. Liu Chengjun, Mr. Wei Xiushan, and Mr. Zhang Jianhua, have
died as a result of the persecution. The authorities in Jilin Prison have used all kinds of torture methods to
persecute the practitioners. In the past few months, several practitioners who
are dying due to the brutal persecution at Jilin Prison were moved to Jilin
Railways Central Hospital in Jilin City for so-called treatment. Word has it
that a 36-year-old practitioner, name unknown, died in the hospital due to the
persecution. The authorities tried to cover up their crimes and blocked the news
from going out. Currently many more practitioners are still being
"treated" at the hospital. All of them were locked up in a ward inside
a large iron gate, and are being watched around the clock. Mr. Cao Hongyan, a 43-year-old photographer, lived in Hewanzi Township, Jilin
City. The local police station and township government had harassed him
continuously because he practiced Falun Gong. In 2002, Yangjiasuizi Police
Station of Changchun City took him away after he finished work one day. His
whereabouts were unknown until his family went to look for him everywhere and
found out that he was being jailed at Jilin Prison. He had been sentenced to 8
years, and his family was not allowed to see him. He was taken away while on his
way home. Two days ago, Mr. Cao Hongyan's relatives received notice from the Jilin
Prison to come see Mr. Cao at the hospital. When they got there, they found that
Mr. Cao's legs had swollen up, and he was having spasms in his face. When his
family inquired about his condition, the guards told them that a bone marrow
test had been done on Mr. Cao and that there were no big problems. His family
was shocked by this. How could Cao undergo bone marrow extraction without the
knowledge of his family? Cao Hongyan had been on a hunger strike at Jilin Prison
for six days and was being jailed with fellow practitioner Mr. Wang Juncheng in
a small cell. His limbs were pulled in different directions as punishment, and
it had caused injuries in his arms. Even though he was let down, he would wake
up in the middle of the night from pain. Mr. Li Zhiyong, a practitioner from Changchun City, is 26 year old. He was
sentenced to 4 years at the end of 2003, and sent to No. 3 Monitoring Zone at
Jilin Prison. It was only on May 24, 2004 that his family found out Mr. Li
Zhiyong had been hospitalized and was in danger of dying. They looked for him in
one hospital after another, until they found him at the Jilin Railways Central
Hospital, where he was dying. The hospital's diagnosis was kidney problems.
According to the doctors, he has fluid in his heart chamber and his chest, and
has high protein levels in his urine. He is on the verge of dying, but the Jilin
