Spanish Newspaper Reports on the Criminal Lawsuit Against Jia Qingling in Spain
On Sunday, September 12, 2004, the daily newspaper La Voz de Almeria
published the following article about the criminal lawsuit filed in Spain
against Jia Qinglin, chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative
Committee, during his visit to Spain: Lawsuit Charging a Chinese Official with Crimes of Genocide On the evening of September 2, before the Judge on call of the Spanish
National Court, the Audiencia Nacional, a criminal lawsuit was filed against
Chinese official Jia Qinglin, the chairman of the Chinese People's Political
Consultative Committee, who will be visiting Spain during the next few days. The lawsuit charges Jia Qinglin with genocide and torture against millions of
Chinese and western citizens who practice Falun Gong, a practice based on
exercises and meditation similar to Tai-Chi and Yoga, and some spiritual
principles. In this lawsuit, Jia Qinglin is accused by fifteen victims from
different nations of various crimes he committed as Secretary General of the
