Israel: Practitioners Introduce Falun Dafa and Expose the Persecution at the Beresheet Festival on the Shores of Kineret Lake (Photos)
(Clearwisdom.net) During the Sucot Holiday many
Israelis travel around the country on trips for recreation. One of the most
popular venues is the Beresheet Festival, which takes place every year for three
days on the shores of Kineret Lake. The festival organisers approached Falun Gong practitioners
and asked them to hold activities throughout the festival. The practitioners
accepted the invitation and arrived at the location a day early to set up in an
area large enough to hold over forty people; several activities could be held in
different corners. The practitioners decorated the place with Chinese lanterns,
paper lotus flowers and banners. Around the edges were tables with different
booklets from which one could learn about Falun Gong and the persecution in
China. The Falun Gong area stood out among the different booths in the festival
and attracted the attention of passers by. Many of the organisers of the other
booths, and even the organisers of the festival, came to the Falun Gong area and
expressed their admiration. At almost every hour of the day one could see people
learning the Falun Gong exercises inside the booth. Throughout the festival the Falun Gong booth was open from
morning till evening and held activities continuously. Many people came and
learned about Falun Dafa and the persecution in China. One young woman arrived
at 2am and asked one of the practitioners, "What is this place? During
daytime I'm working in another booth and can't leave, but every time I pass
near your booth I see light coming from within, and I slow down my pace to
enjoy the wonderful atmosphere. Can you tell me what this practice is?"
At almost every hour of the day one could see people learning the Falun Gong
exercises inside the booth. Falun Dafa practitioners gave workshops where people
learned to fold paper lotus flowers and at the same time they could learn
about Falun Gong and the persecution in China. Some kept coming back even
though they already knew how to make paper flowers very well. These people
kept on teaching others, so that even when Falun Dafa practitioners were
engaged in other activities, one could see people seated and making lotus
flowers. Some were learning the five sets of Falun Gong exercises,
others were discussing the persecution, some sat down and were reading Falun
Gong books while others were making lotus flowers. After one day of activities, people told their friends
about our stall and they began to arrive especially to learn Falun Gong.
There were many people who were engaged in a variety of activities. Some
were learning the five sets of Falun Gong exercises, others were discussing
the persecution, some sat down and were reading Falun Gong books while
others were making lotus flowers. There were people who would return every
day to do the exercises and study. There were copies of the books Falun
Gong [the introductory text of Falun Dafa] and Zhuan Falun
[Falun Dafa's main text] in the booth, and some people managed to almost
finish them during the festival. On the second day of the festival, the organisers asked
Falun Gong practitioners to hold an exercise class in the main meditation
square. The practitioners agreed and for an hour they gave a class to teach
the exercises which was attended by dozens of people. At the end of the
class practitioners told those attending about the practice and the
persecution in China, and invited them to the booth to get a better
impression and continue learning. The practitioners decorated the place with Chinese
lanterns, paper lotus flowers and banners. Around the edges were tables
with different booklets from which one could learn about Falun Gong and
the persecution in China. Source: http://clearharmony.net/articles/200410/22456.html
