After the 2003 publication of Duan Yu's article "Expose the Evil Happening Locally to the Local People" with Master's comments, all the practitioners in our area actively collected evidence and facts about who was responsible for the persecution in the police force, public security bureau, 610 officials, etc. Then we exposed their crimes to the Minghui website and the local public. Our efforts greatly suppressed the actions of those who perpetrated crimes against Falun Gong practitioners. In the process, some individuals even started to restrain themselves from doing these evil actions and started to regain their conscience. At the same time the local population was given opportunities to learn the facts about Falun Gong.

Several days ago, I found out that individuals from another city in our region who participate in persecuting practitioners would be holding a brainwashing class. Not long after that, a key practitioner from that city was arrested and detained in a detention center.

Many of my city's practitioners were familiar with this practitioner, and previously we had exchanged ideas with her about how to expose the illegal activities in our respective cities to the local people. At the time, she and others from her city believed that each city had its unique conditions and that the environment in her city was not so bad. They thought that the perpetrators should be given a chance to correct their wrongdoings and should be pardoned for their past crimes, and that they should not investigate them any further.

In the exchange we found that they also believed that the evil wouldn't persecute us any more if we didn't investigate their actions after our first confrontation with them. In addition, these practitioners thought that if we further exposed the criminals, these individuals and those controlling them would launch an even more furious attack against us and thus magnify our tribulations. Because of such thoughts among practitioners in that city, after a period of peace, the people responsible for persecuting practitioners in that city did intensify their actions and in the end more than ten Dafa practitioners (including the abovementioned key practitioner) were arrested and detained in a brainwashing class. Furthermore, the local 610 officials went to practitioners' homes to harass them, and the persecution in our region again continued at a furious pace.

Finding ourselves in this situation, we made a judgment based on Dafa. We realized that practitioners in that city had basic problems with their ideas and behavior, which allowed the evil to continue to exist.

The ultimate purpose of our exposing the evil was to clarify the truth about Falun Dafa and to save sentient beings. If we, as practitioners in the Fa rectification era, failed to make use of all possible opportunities to expose the evil facing practitioners and to alert people to the situation, or if we feared being hurt in the process of exposing the evil and we failed to gain a crystal-clear understanding that exposing the evil is by itself saving those who are persecuting us, then we would not achieve the goal of exposing the evil.

When people get to know the evil nature of the persecution, they will have righteous thoughts towards Falun Dafa and its practitioners, and thus be saved. Furthermore, to expose the persecutors and their actions is a great assistance to the practitioners still in prison and suffering from cruel torture.

We realized that we should try to avoid the two extremes in exposing the persecution. One extreme is to regard the persecution as a part of human behavior and to be overtaken by feelings of hatred and revenge. The other extreme is to consider our efforts to expose these unlawful acts as somehow not compassionate and, consequently, to allow the evil to feed upon our inactivity.

As a cultivator we should follow Dafa at all times and try to give up these personal perceptions. The sole purpose of what we do is to save sentient beings, through which the might of Dafa will be manifested. I believe that the persecution is bound to end when all people become aware of the true nature of this evil persecution.
