Cherish the Time and Walk Our Path Well

(Clearwisdom.net) I am a Falun Dafa practitioner from Panjin City, Liaoning Province. I learned Falun Gong in August 1998 when I graduated from primary school.

It was Falun Dafa that brought happiness back to my family. Before learning Falun Gong, my father smoked, drank, played mahjong, and he always fought with my mother. In order to keep them from fighting I cut my toes with broken glass many times. I used to shout, "Daddy and mommy, don't fight any more!" Being part of such a family, my young heart was severely troubled. It was Falun Dafa that changed my father into a good person who took the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance" as his standard of living. Daddy not only got rid of his bad habits, but also paid back all the debts he owed to the production brigade for the last few years. The whole farm was very pleased to learn that the power of Falun Dafa changed a person full of bad habits into a good person who always thinks of others first. As a result, my mother and I also embarked on the path of learning Falun Dafa.

Beginning in the fourth grade, I suffered from a stubborn skin disease, and had reddish bumps all over my face. It looked terrible. I tried various treatments and applied different medicines. However, there was no improvement at all. On the contrary, my face turned black. I dared not look in the mirror or meet other people. Whenever people came to my home I hid myself, and on my way to school I always walked with my head down. However, not long after I started to practice Falun Gong all the bumps disappeared and my skin became lighter. People would ask, "What medicine have you applied that it so effective?" I told them, "I did not use any medicine. It is the result of practicing Falun Gong."

My mother suffered from gastritis for several decades, and she also had rheumatism. Even in summer she needed to wear very thick trousers. She had taken various medicines, but the result was no improvement at all. But after practicing Falun Dafa her illnesses disappeared very quickly. Our whole family reveled in the wonder of Dafa. Human language cannot express our gratitude toward our Teacher or sing our praises of Dafa.

On July 20, 1999, the Jiang regime began to brutally persecute Falun Gong, and our freedom of belief was trampled upon. We were then unable to receive Teacher's new articles, and our family went through a whole year of darkness, relying on our firm belief in Dafa and Teacher.

On June 8, 2001, police officers from the local police station ransacked our house and arrested my father. This was not all, as they also went to my school to harass me. I was not afraid and frankly told the school about the benefits my family has gained from practicing Falun Gong. I received very good grades in my school studies. The principal and the teachers all stood by my side so the police could do nothing, and left gloomily. I knew Teacher was looking after me so I could endure all the tribulations. After my father was illegally detained, my mother and I wanted to have him released as soon as possible, so we paid the 5,000 Yuan (1) the police asked for. (This was because my mother and I did not have a deep understanding of the Fa principles.) My father was released. One evening I suddenly clearly understood a Fa principle, "If you don't have that attachment that thing will not happen." This was a hint from Teacher. On July 22 the same year, something unusual happened. The alarm clock rang continuously, and at about 12 o'clock the police from the local police station came to my home and again ransacked my house. They also said that my father had been arrested. We did not negate the evil arrangement last time so the persecution had been stepped up. The police extorted 10,000 Yuan to release my father.

I was successfully enrolled at a good high school. At the beginning I did not study the Fa at school. I only studied Fa during my two days off every three weeks, and I felt that my cultivation status was not good. During the second term of the second year of high school I brought Zhuan Falun (2) with me and began to clarify the truth to classmates. At the beginning they were very scared. However, during our getting together for more than a year my words and deeds left them with a very good impression, so gradually they were able to accept what I said. Once, our Chinese language exercise mentioned Falun Gong. I was worried that our teacher might say something bad about Falun Gong so I wrote him a note. As a result he did not mention Falun Gong in class. At the time when we were having our individual study my teacher wanted to talk to me. This was because he did not understand what I had written on that note, so I clarified the truth to him. He expressed his sympathy and support after hearing the truth.

In March 2003, not long after I started my third year of high school, my father was arrested once again and was sentenced to two years of forced labor. On the day following father's arrest the local police station requested my family pay 20,000 Yuan to have him released. Because we saw through their evil nature we did not follow their instructions. Later, when we obtained and read Teacher's new articles that were published after 1999 we learned that we needed to do three things well and realized that the reason we took a roundabout course in our cultivation is because we were not doing well, and artificially fostered the evil demons.

At school I began to write letters to teachers and clarify the truth to students. My former class director said that he knew I practiced Falun Gong and the principal also knew the truth, therefore the school did not give me any trouble. After watching the truth-clarification VCD, a classmate who often played truant said he would copy the VCD so that more people could view it. He also voiced his support for Falun Dafa. I realized the great responsibility I shouldered, and the reason why our truth-clarification should be linked with our life and study. One day when I took the bus to school, the bus driver thanked me after helping me. I knew I should clarify the truth with him so I gave him a pamphlet that I carried with me. A middle-aged man also asked for one, which I gave to him with a big smile.

In June 2004 I enrolled at a university. When my family invited relatives and friends to a banquet to celebrate my success, I calmly told them about the spread of Falun Dafa to the rest of the world, and the benefits that Dafa brought to our family. I felt at ease at the time because I knew Teacher was at my side.

In my university entrance exams, the teacher who learned the truth of Falun Gong gave me an A+ for my politics exam. I knew that the reason I went to the university was because people with predestined relationships were waiting there for me to save them.

Only twenty days after I started at the university I was ordered to quit. This was the result of my attachment of complacency. The show-off mentality and over anxiousness for quick results provided the evil with loopholes. When we were doing the military training I clarified the truth to a military police officer. He reported it to the Party Secretary of the university, and as a result I was expelled. These people were doing evil against their conscience. They expelled me without any proper procedures. During the process, the Party Secretary asked me to write down to whom I had clarified the truth to and I did. Later, I realized that I had cooperated with the evil's requirement. Though my mother and I had clarified the truth to them, we failed to negate the evil when they persecuted us. This was because we did not have a clear understanding of the evil nature. I knew that I did not do well and the reason was that I had not studied the Fa well.

In the days to come I must do well what a Dafa practitioner should do, find out my shortcomings, draw a lesson from past experiences, cherish the time on the path of Fa-rectification, and cultivate diligently to help Teacher rectify the Fa and save sentient beings, so as to fulfill the grand vows they made before history!
