Last weekend (on October 9, 2004), when we clarified the truth on busy Broadway Avenue in Manhattan, there occurred some stories that I'd like to share with everyone.

A man walked over and told us that he worked for Roosevelt Foundation. He suggested that we contact New York's FM Radio Station and clarify the truth on their frequency to let more people know about this, as many people listen to the radio each day. Many radio stations in New York have programs once a week that last for an hour, so we could explain many things. He also recommended that we contact the two radio stations WNYC and WNYE.

Another time, an older American man approached me and asked quietly, "Did you release sarin gas in Tokyo's subway in Japan?" I smiled at him and held the flyer and pointed at the words, "Falun Gong, Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance." I asked him, "Have you read this?" He nodded. I said, "If people truly conduct themselves according to this, do you think we would go to release sarin gas?" He shook his head and said no. I said, "That's right. The three words are not merely a slogan, we practice them in our daily lives." After hearing this, he nodded satisfactorily and slowly walked away.

A New Yorker, after listening to the facts about Falun Gong, offered us a suggestion. He suggested that we contact the Film Department at the New York University to make a documentary on the story of Falun Gong, and then sell it to all cable TV companies, thus earning a lot of money and support our activities. I told him that we don't want to earn money, but it is indeed possible to shoot a movie.

There is a Chinese restaurant near our anti-torture exhibit on Broadway Avenue. We didn't bring materials with us while having lunch there, but later, when we returned with some materials, we asked the boss if he had read them, if he had heard the truth, and if we could leave some materials for his customers. He repeatedly said, "I've read them, I know all about it. It's no problem if you leave some materials here." Before leaving, he said, "I welcome your Falun Gong to come to have meals. It's also fine if you don't eat, come and wash your hands, no problem."

One day we had dinner at a Chinese seafood restaurant. Before ordering, we asked the waitress if she had heard about Falun Gong and if she had seen our anti-torture exhibit on the roadside. The young girl who seemed to come from China suddenly became very uneasy, and said, "I'm not interested in this and politics." She then left hurriedly. When we paid our bill, we also gave her Dafa truth clarification materials and VCD about staged Tiananmen Self-immolation. At this time her landlady also came over. We looked at both of them and said sincerely, "Falun Gong doesn't have any political agenda. We only want to cultivate ourselves to improve ourselves. We only appeal to stop the persecution. We are all full-time professionals, and we come here on the weekends to tell you this. Please take a look at them." The waitress' expression became relaxed and she nodded. The landlady grasped the materials and VCD and said, "Good, good, we will read and watch them." She then pointed at the VCD, where can I play it, on a DVD player?

Late in the afternoon, while I was handing out materials to people passing by on the sidewalk, my back was facing Broadway Avenue. I happened to turn around, and found a Chinese man standing behind me. His one foot touched the ground, and the other foot was still on the bicycle. He was looking at us in a complicated, apathetic and sneering expression. I walked up to him and smiled at him, handing him a flyer. He didn't accept it, and said expressionlessly, "Is it Falun Gong?" He showed an expression of distrust and scorn mixed with perplexity and expectation. I said, "Take a look, we came here from another city several hours away, you see those ladies and gentlemen, they received very good education, and some have obtained doctorate and masters degrees, and are professors and professionals. We are here with nothing but one purpose to sincerely tell you that Falun Gong is truly very good, and the persecution is wrong." His facial expression relaxed, and he asked me, "Do you have materials in Chinese?" I found several materials in Chinese and VCD about False Fire. He happily accepted and put them into his pocket. He then said goodbye to us and rode away on his bicycle.
