Korea: Plight of Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Gao Chengnu Strikes a Chord of Sympathy (Photos)
By a practitioner from Korea (Clearwisdom.net) After it was exposed that a Korean man's wife, Ms. Gao
Chengnu, an ethnic Korean from China and a Falun Gong practitioner has been
unlawfully imprisoned and tortured in China, a non-governmental rescue campaign
was initiated and carried out in Korea. Falun Gong practitioners throughout
Korea also take active actions to broadly explain the facts about Falun Gong to
all circles in the society and call upon all people with a sense of justice to
help rescue Ms. Gao. On September 13, 2004, city officials in Cheonan City, where Ms. Gao's
husband resides, unanimously passed a resolution to urge the Chinese authorities
to unconditionally release Ms. Gao. Since then, practitioners throughout Korea
have kept clarifying the facts to all circles in the society and collected
petition signatures in support of the rescue of Ms. Gao. In particular, practitioners in the Daejeon area have visited a number of
colleges and universities, busy downtown areas, and other areas where there are
crowds of people to display posters, distribute flyers, and tell people about
the persecution encountered by Falun Gong practitioners in China. While
collecting petition signatures, practitioners told people how Ms. Gao Chengnu,
wife a Korean man was imprisoned and tortured in China simply because she
persisted in her practice of Falun Gong. She is unable to come to Korea to
reunite with her husband. In the evening, practitioners repeatedly play the
video program made by CBN about the rescue of Ms. Gao on a big screen. People
who learn about the facts are happy to help by signing the petition. This rescue campaign will be continued until Ms. Gao is released. |
