By a Falun Gong Practitioner in Taiwan

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioners from Tainan and Xinying held activities to introduce Falun Dafa at the Water Chestnut Festival in Guantian on October 16 and 17, 2004. The activities were well received at this large annual event focused on introducing and promoting agricultural products.

Practitioners displayed Falun Dafa books and materials at a booth, showed display boards, and distributed flyers at this busy festival. They demonstrated Falun Gong exercises on stage for an hour, and performed waist-drum playing and a chorus of "Falun Dafa Is Good." The exercise music was so solemn and peaceful that many people were touched. Falun Gong practitioners' gentle movements during the exercise demo won warm applause. Finally, a practitioner and musician family played "Coming for You," and other music with violin, cello, and keyboard. The host of the program was so moved by Falun Gong's compassionate and peaceful atmosphere that he took the initiative to introduce Falun Gong to the audience.

Falun Gong practitioners demonstrated the exercises on the open ground in front of their booth, and many people asked how to learn. Practitioners took the opportunity to tell them what Falun Gong is, and about its wide spread and world-wide recognition.

Some asked why Falun Gong is suppressed in China. Falun Gong practitioners told them how Jiang, driven by his jealousy of Falun Gong's overwhelming popularity, fabricated lies about self-immolation and murder to deceive the people, and launched the brutal persecution of innocent Falun Gong practitioners. They told visitors about the more than one thousand Falun Gong practitioners who have died from the persecution, and the hundreds of thousands who have been illegally detained or thrown into jails. The voices of justice to bring Jiang to global trial are increasing, however, as more and more people learn the truth about Falun Dafa and the persecution.

On the second day of the festival, Falun Gong practitioners taught people how to make paper lotus flowers, and gave out balloons printed with "Falun Dafa Is Good." Many people with children participated in making the lotus flowers. They learned the true story of Falun Gong through chatting with Falun Gong practitioners, and left happily with paper lotus flowers and bookmarks printed with "The World Needs Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance."
