Falun Gong Practitioner Cui Weidong Dies as Result of Persecution in Jilin Prison
By a Jilin practitioner
(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Cui Weidong died as a
result of persecution in Jilin Prison on September 10, 2004. In September 2003, Mr. Cui Weidong was sent to the so-called "Strict
Discipline Team" because he wrote a solemn declaration, stating that all
the guarantees to quit practicing Falun Gong he made under the persecution were
done so against his will and therefore null and void. After nearly four months
of persecution, seeing that his condition was deteriorating very quickly, the
police sent him to the prison hospital for rescue. He was diagnosed with
multiple diseases including tubercular meningitis and pleurisy ascites. The
prison authorities allowed him to be released on bail for medical treatment, but
with the condition that he write a guarantee to give up Falun Gong. Cui Weidong
rejected this demand. The prison hospital sent Mr. Cui back to a prison cell in
August 2004. In less than a month, his condition worsened and he died on
September 10.
