Sweden: Wooden Sculptures Depict the Peaceful Exercises of Falun Gong (Photos)
(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong, also called Falun Dafa, was introduced to
society by Mr. Li Hongzhi in 1992. Those who practise Falun Gong follow the
principle of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance." They not only
practise the fives sets of slow moving Falun Gong exercises but also cultivate
their mind nature. The emphasis is on high morality and aiming to be a good
person. Falun Gong was spreading rapidly in mainland China due to its amazing
effectiveness to heal and strengthen one's health. In seven years, over 100
million people came to learn the practice, which had also spreaded to about a
dozen foreign countries by 1999. However, in the July of 1999, the former dictator and President of China
Jiang Zemin, who perceived Falun Gong's popularity as a potential threat to his
political interest, personally started the persecution against Falun Gong
practitioners. To date, it is reported that at least 1089 Falun Gong
practitioners have been persecuted to death. Howver, Falun Gong has never
vanished due to the persecution - instead it spreads rapidly world-wide. A Swedish college student who has benefited from practising Falun Dafa
created the work illustrated below to express his gratitude to Falun Gong and
his condemnation of the persecution. Source http://www.clearharmony.net/articles/200410/22749.html
