Japan: Anti-Torture Exhibit Held in Downtown Nagoya (Photos) By Falun Dafa practitioners in Japan (Clearwisdom.net) In recent months, anti-torture exhibits have been
successively held across Japan, playing an important role in explaining the
facts of Falun Dafa to the Japanese society. As some practitioners traveled to
New York to participate in large scale truth clarification activities,
practitioners in different places make good use of time to actively explain the
facts about Falun Gong to Japanese society. Aichi-ken is the an important industrial manufacturing center in the world.
Toyota and other famous automobile factories are all in Aichi-ken. Recently,
Falun Dafa practitioners in Aichi-ken proposed to stage a live anti-torture
exhibit on September 25-26, 2004 at Rong Square Park in downtown Nagoya, the
capital of Aichi-ken.
Yuko Kaneko, who was once detained in a Chinese forced labor camp for one
and a half years came from Niigata to introduce to the Japanese people the
tortures she suffered in the Chinese forced labor camp, including "Dead
Person's Bed." Japanese practitioners also made a "Dead Person's
Bed" that was once used on Yuko Kaneko according to her description. This
time, a simulated torture method of "Dead Person's Bed" was
displayed in this anti-torture exhibit in Nagoya. In order to participate in this live anti-torture exhibit, Japanese
practitioners overcame many difficulties to travel to Nagoya from across
Japan. During the two-day exhibit, they explained the persecution of Falun
Gong in China to many local people. Two Japanese practitioners kept explaining
through loudspeakers the torture methods used in China on Falun Dafa
practitioners and other facts about Falun Dafa.
2-6 People passing by were startled at seeing this live reenactment of torture
methods and display boards of the kinds of torture methods with illustrations.
Many people were indignant at the Chinese police's brutality against Falun
Gong practitioners, and signed a petition to oppose using torture instruments
on Falun Gong practitioners. Many more people learned what Falun Gong is and
some wanted to learn to do the exercises. One person was very interested in China. After listening to practitioners'
explanations, he expressed thanks and said he would return to learn more after
finishing his business. Many foreigners live in Nagoya, and they hoped to learn the truth about
Falun Gong. When seeing the display boards and live anti-torture exhibit, they
took the initiative to learn the truth from practitioners. A young man from
Nepal saw the exhibit and wanted to learn the facts and asked many questions.
He was pleasantly surprised to learn that there are people practicing Falun
Gong in Nepal. Many Chinese people living in Nagoya also came to learn the truth. A
40-year-old couple looked carefully at all the display boards, and expressed
that they dare not believe all this. After practitioners' explanation, they
took all kinds of materials to read carefully after returning home. A local Chinese chef came to the exhibit site on his afternoon break. He
listened carefully to practitioners' explanation and Yuko Kaneko's personal
experience. He then smiled and took all kinds of materials we displayed. Practitioners who reenacted torture methods had different experiences. The
elder practitioner who was "tied" on to a "Dead Person's
Bed," said she had been weeping all the time, and she had been reciting Hong
Yin [a collection of poems written by Mr. Li Hongzhi]. She didn't feel
uncomfortable, but felt she was encircled by an energy field and could feel
the flow of energy. A practitioner in his 60s kept acting as a malicious
police officer for a whole day, but he said he didn't feel tired. Posting date: 10/3/2004
