Rectifying Myself

(Clearwisdom.net) I always thought that I was an introverted person, as I did not like to talk and was also poor at expressing myself. When it came to clarifying the truth face to face, I did so very poorly because I was afraid that I could not talk well. As a result, I created many obstacles in my clarifying the truth to people.

After Teacher's article "Let Go of Human Attachments and Save the World's People" was published, fellow practitioners in our area realized the urgency of the situation. There are large numbers of sentient beings who have been poisoned by lies, and who need us to clarify the truth to them and save them. Clarifying the truth face to face has many advantages. For example, an ordinary person's misunderstandings and questions can be answered right away.

Therefore, I made up my mind to act according to Teacher's article, "Let Go of Human Attachments and Save the World's People." I decided to overcome the obstacles I had established for myself and my selfish mentality of fear. I had the desire from the bottom of my heart to save the world's people face to face. Then, I began using the opportunities I had to clarify the truth face to face.

One day, I met a lady in a clothing store when she was trying on clothes. Right after I went into the shop, she began asking me whether the clothes suited her or not. She said that I looked kind and seemed familiar to her. In fact, we did not know each other. I told her that I was a Falun Gong practitioner. She was very surprised. Like this, I began clarifying the truth to her by answering her questions. Gradually, I talked to her about different topics, such as lies from TV and the media, the Jiang regime's persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, questionable points about the Tiananmen self-immolation incident, and how Falun Gong helps people raise their moral standards and purifies their bodies, making them healthier. I was compassionate and calm as I talked with her patiently, thinking that as long as she understood the truth, she would have a good future. I tried to think from her perspective, putting myself in her shoes. At this time, I went into a state of selflessness that was very pure. Meanwhile, she felt my genuine intention, asking me in the end, "Can I practice?" I was very happy, knowing that it was Teacher's arrangement. It was Teacher's compassion that saved this person. It was Teacher who gave me this opportunity to clarify the truth and save the world's people.

I realized that the first thing to do when clarifying the truth face to face is to study the Fa well. We should follow what Teacher said, "... should let go of their long-standing human attachments" ("Let Go of Human Attachments and Save the World's People") We should break through our post-natal notions and obstacles, fulfill the responsibilities bestowed upon us by Dafa, be sure not to disappoint the sentient beings who are waiting for us, and be sure not to disappoint Teacher, who has bestowed upon us Buddha's infinite grace!
