By a Falun Dafa practitioner in Virginia

(Clearwisdom.net) The annual Virginia Beach Neptune Festival, which began on September 4, is one of the ten largest festivals on the East Coast. The Neptune Festival Parade along the oceanfront on September 25 was the climax of the festival.

Crowds of spectators stood along the road. More than one hundred groups participated in the parade. This is the second year that Falun Gong practitioners have participated in the parade. The soothing Falun Gong exercise movements and beautiful dances were warmly received. The spectators rewarded practitioners with waves of applause and happily accepted Falun Dafa flyers.

Virginia Beach is a heavily populated town in southeast Virginia. To better introduce Falun Dafa to local residents, Falun Gong practitioners from Washington D.C. and Mid-Virginia drove to Virginia Beach to support this activity. A family of four Falun Gong practitioners, including a five-year-old and a one-year-old, joined the parade. The five-year-old girl led the dancing team during the parade for the first time. A news reporter took pictures of her, asked her her name and took informational materials about Falun Dafa.

Tens of thousands of people came to see the parade. The Falun Dafa procession included a large banner that read, "Falun Dafa is Great," a Fairy Dance team and a float. Five Falun Gong practitioners, including three children, demonstrated the five sets of exercises on the float. Parade spectators were fascinated by the exercises and started reading the introductory materials as soon as they received them. A woman called in the afternoon to ask for more information about Falun Dafa and to find out where she could learn the exercises.
