A Letter from A Swedish Student to the Chinese Vice-Premier Wu Yi Who is Visiting Sweden

Your Excellency, Vice-Prime Minister of China Madame Wu Yi:

Welcome to Gothenburg! I hope your visit to Sweden will be fruitful and will improve the relationship between Sweden and China in many areas.

I like China and the Chinese culture and have studied the Chinese language at university in Sweden. In the future, I hope I can go to China to improve my Chinese language skills. The Chinese culture is very fascinating because it is so rich and has a long history.

Since the year 1998 I have practiced Falun Gong, which is very popular in China. Practicing Falun Gong not only improves a person's health but also makes him or her a good person, because practitioners live according the principles of Truthfulness- Compassion- Forbearance. Every country will benefit if it has many citizens practicing Falun Gong. Personally I have changed to a better person. I always try to be good to others and think of them before myself. Since I started to practice Falun Gong, I have also become more responsible.

I know that Falun Gong practitioners have been very seriously persecuted in China since July 1999. I think that Jiang Zemin is jealous of the large number of people who were practicing Falun Gong. It is ridiculous that Jiang Zemin created so many lies about Falun Gong and even claimed that Falun Gong is political. I want to tell you that Falun Gong practitioners have no political goals and we are not against the Chinese government. It is very wrong that people who practice exercises and their belief peacefully and want to be good people are persecuted. The persecution of Falun Gong has caused so much suffering to so many Chinese families.

In Sweden and in more than 60 other countries there are many people from all walks of life practicing Falun Gong and benefiting from Falun Gong. Falun Gong has received many proclamations and awards because Falun Gong benefits people's health and improves their moral standards. I think that many Chinese Government officials also know very well what Falun Gong is and think this persecution is wrong.

Please be assured that we are not against the Chinese Government. I wish this terrible persecution to stop immediately and that those people who are involved in the persecution, like Jiang Zemin and Luo Gan, be brought to justice.
