Recent Persecution of Dafa Practitioners Zhou Liangrong and Zhou Liangjuan from Chongqing

(Clearwisdom.net) On March 19, 2004, Chongqing Dafa practitioners Ms. Zhou Liangrong and Ms. Zhou Liangjuan were seriously injured from being tortured and detained for 15 days by policemen from the Changshengqiao Local Police Station, Nan'an District. The Chongqing Nan'an District Public Security Bureau and "610 Office" feared their crimes being exposed and illegally sentenced Zhou Liangrong and Zhou Liangjuan to three years of imprisonment on April 2 in hopes of covering up the truth. Both practitioners were immediately sent to the Chongqing Women's Forced Labor Camp.

After their injuries and tortures were exposed to the public, the Chongqing "610 Office" and Chongqing Political and Judiciary Committee did not allow the two practitioners to meet with their family members. The labor camp also sent out two notices to the City Re-education Through Forced Labor Bureau stating that Zhou Liangrong was critically ill and should be released on bail for medical treatment. The City Re-education Through Forced Labor Bureau rejected the requests and claimed that it was the decision of the City Political and Judiciary Committee. Up to now, Zhou Liangrong's family has not been able to see her.

According to China's laws, even a criminal awaiting execution can meet with their family members. However the brutally persecuted Dafa practitioners are denied the right to have family visitation just because they believe in the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance" and strive to become better people. We hope that righteous people from all walks of life will support and pay attention to this matter, and help end the inhuman and brutal persecution soon.
