Korea: "Uncompromising Spirit" World Art Exhibition Successfully Held in the City of Suwon (Photos) By practitioners from Korea (Clearwisdom.net) The "Uncompromising Spirit" World Art Exhibition depicting
the persecution that Falun Dafa practitioners in China have suffered as well as
their peaceful and resolute persistence in upholding their lofty beliefs was
held in the City of Suwon from September 29 to October 3, 2004, after it was
successfully held in the Daegu. Usually, it would take a long time to plan and prepare for an art exhibition.
However, this time, we took only 3 days to prepare for this exhibition. The most
difficult thing was to find an available exhibition hall, as all exhibition
halls were fully reserved until the end of this year. Practitioners from Daegu
prepared day and night for three days. When the exhibition was held, the person
who was in charge of the exhibition hall simply could not believe his eyes. He
was quite amazed. In the City of Suwon, the situation was quite similar. We
quickly found an available exhibition hall. Therefore, practitioners from Suwon,
Seoul and other areas made concerted preparation efforts. Finally, the opening
ceremony was successfully held on September 30. Conducting an art exhibition was
really a good way to introduce Falun Dafa and expose the persecution of
practitioners in China to government officials, the media and other people in
mainstream circles. Practitioners sent invitation letters and introductive flyers about the
exhibition to most of the government offices, public institutions, media
outlets, as well as people in the circles of photography and painting. They also
visited a great number of websites of individuals and companies and sent them
invitation letters. People from different backgrounds easily accepted the design
of the art exhibition flyer. Although the mayor of Suwon was unable to attend
the opening ceremony, he sent a congratulatory letter to the exhibition on
behalf of Suwon City citizens. The paintings were classified according to themes. Under the guidance of
practitioners with specialty in the arts, these paintings were orderly displayed
in the exhibition hall. The paintings and the exhibition hall was integrated as
a whole and the atmosphere was serene and peaceful. Practitioners also formed
groups to explain the background of each painting. In order to provide the
visitors clear descriptions, practitioners gathered together before the
exhibition and exchanged their understandings about the pieces. Most visitors were shocked at the inhuman torture after listening to the
explanation and viewing the paintings depicting the brutal persecution
experienced by practitioners in China. Visitors felt it was remarkable upon
learning that practitioners steadfastly went through such brutal suppression.
Many said that they had a completely new understanding about Falun Gong
practitioners. Because of the vile persons' extreme persecution, justice was
lost and human rights were trampled. Under such extreme vile condition, Falun
Gong practitioners still persisted in upholding their great benevolence and
tolerance and all these have been manifested from the art paintings. The
uncompromising spirit was also imprinted in people's hearts. Some people who did not pay attention to the persecution obtained a good
opportunity to more directly learn about the facts through viewing the
exhibition. Some felt this was the best outcome of the exhibition. In
particular, the exhibition provided a good opportunity for government officials,
parliament members, people in the press, legal and art circles to learn about
Falun Gong and the persecution experienced by practitioners. The exhibition will be held in Seoul from October 4 to 6, in Daejeon from
October 15 to 19, in Busan Metropolitan City, Gwangju City, and Changwon-si from
November 1 to 6. Posting date: 10/5/2004 |
