National Spirit Stained by Violence, Five-Years of Bloody Persecution Seen in Recent Brutality (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On the National Day of China, a Falun Gong practitioner was brutally beaten and abducted by policemen on Tiananmen Square. Falun Gong practitioners in Ottawa gathered in the rain in front of the Chinese Embassy to Canada to call for the end of violence on October 2, 2004.

A senior engineer of Notel and Falun Gong practitioner Li Xun said, "It shows a nation's spirit to celebrate National Day. We see this spirit on Tiananmen Square during this years' National Day through Falun Gong practitioners who brought the true story and the beauty of 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance' to the people despite the systematic brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in the past five years. Their unselfish and fearless spirit is the hope of our nation. However, violence against these people has stained our national spirit."

Dr. Zhi Jin, a post-doc on materials science, said that according to the Chinese law, these innocent people had their rights to utter the wrong they had been subjected to. It was to others' and to the nation's benefits that they had the courage to tell the truth. What they did was truly patriotic.

Falun Gong practitioner Dai Gongyu said, "For those who saw the violence on Tiananmen Square the other day, it might have been the first time to witness such things. However, for those who have been subjected to the persecution, it was only a tiny part of what had been happening for the past five years. It is a fraction of the brutality of the persecution. Hidden behind the joy of National Day was the persecution of innocent people."

Dai continued, "If such violence against Falun Gong practitioners happens in broad daylight, it isn't hard to imagine how many crimes there are behind the scene. This bloody persecution has cost more than one thousand lives in the past five years with an average of seventeen or eighteen Falun Gong practitioners losing their lives every month. Twenty-three Falun Gong practitioners died from the persecution in August."

Dai said the Falun Gong practitioners in Canada came to the Chinese Embassy to call for the end of the persecution. Through the violence on Tiananmen Square on the National Day, they told people how this persecution is happening. Falun Gong practitioners will continue to clarify the truth. When all people know of this persecution, the world and history will choose to stop it.
