(Clearwisdom.net) More than one thousand Falun Dafa practitioners went to clarify the truth about Falun Gong in New York from Sept. 21 to Sept. 24, when the UN Summit was being held. We Falun Gong practitioners from Toronto were at every intersection from 58^th Street to 42^nd Street in Manhattan. It was a cool and refreshing day. As soon as we started distributing flyers, we realized how many people had already learned the truth about Falun Gong through the persistent efforts of Falun Gong practitioners. Most people would say, "I have read your newsletter. Thank you!" "What can I do for you?" "I support you!" "I know about it. Thank you!" "I have got many materials from you. Thank you!" I was very happy for these smiling passersby. The precious New Yorkers are awakening.

A Gentleman Asks, "What Can I Do for Charles Li?"

A gentleman asks, "What can I do for you?"

A solemn-looking and nicely dressed gentleman went up to a Falun Gong practitioner in a park around noon on Sept. 21. He carefully asked a practitioner, "Please tell me what I can do to help you." The practitioner asked Yeong-Ching Foo to come over and told the gentleman, "She is American citizen Charles Li's fiancée. Charles is subjected to torture in a Chinese jail. She needs some help." The gentleman asked Yeong-Ching, "Charles Li, American citizen. I know about it. I know your situation very well. I come to ask you what I can do to help you." Yeong-Ching said, "I sincerely appreciate your offer. I don't need anything personally, because it is a persecution of humanity, not just my fiancé." The man said immediately, "Because it is a persecution of humanity and I am part of it, the persecution is probably on me too, in other words, I want to step out to contribute my efforts against the persecution." We were very touched by his great sense of justice.

Yeong-Ching said, "According to the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong, Charles is in a jail in Nanjing. He is forced to labor for more than ten hours a day without rest. Their products are Christmas lights to be exported to the United States. There are hundreds of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners under detention. Their situation is even worse. The torture they have been subjected to is hard to describe in any language. New death cases are happening everyday. The only thing we can do is to call for kind people to help us stop the persecution. You may report it to the American government, call for support from the United Nations and write to human rights organizations. I believe it will help us." The gentleman paused for a while and said, "I know what I can do. I will certainly write to my senator. I will step out to call for justice for you."

A Falun Gong practitioner said, "May I ask what you do?" He said with a smile, "I am a New Yorker." He said goodbye to us and left with the people who were waiting for him.

Some Falun Gong practitioners were crossing a street after their group exercise on the morning of Sept. 22 when a policeman called, "Hi, Falun, come back!" He asked, "Where are you from?" The practitioners told him they were from Toronto. He said, "Canada? I like Canada very much. If possible, I would like to live there and learn Falun Gong." The practitioners told him about the Falun Gong web site. The policeman said he would download Zhuan Falun and read it.

A Little Practitioner Clarifies the Truth in a Pizza Restaurant

Little Falun Gong practitioner Kevin came from Toronto. Kevin and his mother took four-year-old Fadu to lunch in a Pizza restaurant. While waiting in line, Kevin and Fadu distributed truth-clarification flyers to people in the line. Pointing at little Fadu, Kevin told people, "Her dad was beaten to death in China." When people asked why, he answered, "Because he practiced Falun Gong." Someone asked, "What is Falun Gong?" Little Kevin showed him the exercise movement. "Why did they beat him to death?" Kevin pointed to the flyer, "You can find it out from this." Many people took flyers from him. The flyers in his mother's hands were gone quickly too. When they walked out the pizza restaurant, people said good-bye to them in a very friendly way.

When we had lunch on 22^nd St., two big young men asked us why we came to New York. I told them what Falun Gong is, how my whole family had benefited from Dafa and why we came to New York. After hearing it, one of them said, "Five years of persecution! It should be stopped. It is terrible!" The other one said, "It is so cruel. You must hold on. I support you." They said they would read the Falun Dafa book. When I was ready to leave, they sent me to the door and kept saying, "Good luck to you! Take care!" I turned around to remind them, "Don't forget to read the book."

A Reporter Asks for Detailed Materials

Right after our press conference, a reporter from New York interviewed a Falun Gong practitioner for more than an hour. He said finally, "Do you have a group exercise address and contact information that I can publish in our paper? I know a lot of people will be interested." When the practitioner gave him what he needed, he was very happy and said, "Thank you very much! I should study it first."

A reporter interviewed Ms. Wang, an artist Falun Gong practitioner. Ms. Wang told her experience in detail and told the reporter, "The persecution has not only killed more than one thousand people in China, but also has been extended to overseas. The Chinese Consulate tries every way to keep me out of any activity in the Chinese community and attacks me with rumors just because I practice Falun Gong. My office has been broken into and my address book stolen. But after I reported it to the police, it was secretively put back. If they dare to do such things in a democratic country, think what they do in China."

After hearing Ms. Wang's story, the reporter said, "Thank you for this interview! I will write a report about it in detail."

Although many people have learned the true story of Falun Gong, there are still some deceived people to whom we need to clarify the truth in depth. In a huge city like New York, there are still so many people who don't know the truth. We should make the best use of our time and save more sentient beings.
