(Clearwisdom.net) Dr. Li Huiyun, 40 years old, is a Falun Gong practitioner and an Associate Professor at Hebei University of Science and Technology in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. On February 24, 2004, she was abducted by her work unit and the "610 Office" to the Hebei Provincial Legal Education Training Center, actually a brainwashing center, where she was persecuted until she suffered a mental breakdown. On August 10, 2004, she was sent to Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp for further persecution. Li Huiyun is being treated in the Neurology Department of the First Hospital of Hebei Medical University in Hebei Province. She has been under treatment for more than twenty days at the time of this writing.

According to inside information, Li Huiyun was tortured for five nights without sleep. She was forced to sit for four hours in a double-crossed leg position. Two men tortured her by hitting her on the head repeatedly and using cigarettes to burn her. As a result, she became mentally disoriented. After a few days of torture in the labor camp, she was sent to the hospital. During this time the labor camp did not disclose anything to her family. Her family only learned the facts two weeks after she was sent to the hospital.

The labor camp forced her doctors not to let her family members visit her. In order to see her daughter, Ms. Li's seventy years old mother got down on her knees, pleading to visit her daughter. She was then allowed to see her daughter under the supervision of two plainclothes policemen.
