A Chronicle of Major Historic Events during the Introduction of Falun Dafa to the Public

From the early preparation stage of the public introduction of Falun Dafa to
the present time, this world has gone through a lot of changes and many events
have taken place that are centered around Falun Dafa. Under the current historic
circumstances, the editors have tried their best to collect and compile the
following historic facts to provide a convenient source for readers' daily
inquiries for information about Falun Dafa. The editors have decided to publish
the current version of the document, and at the same time, invite Falun Dafa
practitioners from various places around the world to help correct inadequacies
and perfect the chronicle.]

Minghui Net's compilation: Falun Dafa, also called The Great Way of Falun
Cultivation Practice or Falun Gong, is a high-level cultivation practice of the
Buddha School that was first made public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in May 1992. Guided
by the standard of the universe's highest characteristic,
"Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," and by the principles of the universe's
evolution, Falun Dafa is a cultivation practice of both mind and body. Hundreds
of millions of practitioners have proven through their practice that Falun Dafa
is a great method of cultivation. While helping genuine cultivators ascend to
high levels, Falun Dafa has also played an immeasurably positive role in
stabilizing society, improving people's physical health and uplifting people's
moral standards.
As of mid-February 2004, the major book of Falun Dafa, Zhuan Falun,
had been translated into 25 languages and published in various regions of the
world. The book Falun Gong had been translated into 30 languages and the
translation of the books in other languages continues. Now, Falun Gong is
practiced in more than 60 countries, and people from more regions in the world
are beginning to practice Falun Dafa in succession.
As of mid-February 2004, local governments, members of legislative assemblies
and organizations around the world had issued 1223 awards and written greeting
letters praising Falun Dafa and its founder. Among them, 1051 were from the
U.S., 135 from Canada, 12 from Australia, 9 from Taiwan, 6 from China before the
persecution, 6 from Europe, and 1 from each of the following countries, New
Zealand, Japan, Indonesia and Peru.
Since 2000, Mr. Li Hongzhi has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for
four years in a row.
In the process of collecting this important information, Minghui Information
Center has divided the chronicle into the following four periods of time:
1. Preparation for Falun Gong's Public Introduction (May 13, 1951 to May
1992);
2. Falun Gong's Public Introduction (May 13, 1992 to December 31, 1994);
3. Falun Gong Spreads Around the World (1995 to July 20, 1999);
4. The Fa-rectification Period of Anti-persecution and Truth Clarification
(July 20, 1999 to the present).
The contents are divided into the following several major categories:
1. Preparation for Falun Gong's Public Introduction (May 13, 1951 to May 1992)
- On May 13, 1951 or the eighth day of the fourth month based on the Chinese
Lunar Calendar, Mr. Li Hongzhi was born into an ordinary family of intellectuals in
Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province, China.
- When Mr. Li Hongzhi was four years old, Quan Jue, the tenth generation
master of a Buddha School cultivation practice that is passed on to only one
disciple in each generation, personally began teaching Mr. Li Hongzhi the
practice. The practice is guided by the highest characteristics of the universe,
"Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance."
- When Mr. Li Hongzhi was eight years old, Master Quan Jue put the characters
for "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" inside the corners of his eyes so that
he could see the words at all times while others could not. In the following
years, the master told Mr. Li the meaning of the three words: "Truthfulness"
means that one does things truthfully, tells the truth, does not deceive others,
does not lie, does not cover up wrongdoings after doing something wrong, and
eventually returns to one's true original self; "Compassion" means that one has
a benevolent heart, does not bully others, has sympathy for the weak, helps the
poor, is happy to help others, and does more good deeds; "Forbearance" means
that one, when being humiliated, does not take it to heart, is able to withstand
the maltreatment, does not complain about or hate others, does not retaliate,
can endure the toughest hardships of all, and can endure what ordinary people
cannot. At the age of eight, Mr. Li Hongzhi had mastered the high-level
cultivation practice and exhibited great supernatural abilities.
- When Mr. Li Hongzhi was 12 years old, his first master left. Before
leaving, the master told him, "There will be other masters coming to teach you."
The second master mainly taught him a cultivation practice of the Tao School,
including martial arts of fighting with hands and feet and with a knife, spear,
and sword, and the practice of both internal and external cultivation. Several
years later, the second master was about to leave. Before leaving, the second
master told him, "My name is Ba Ji Zhen Ren, and I travel everywhere.
After I leave, just remember one thing - practice diligently."
- In 1972, Mr. Li Hongzhi started to work in society. At that time, the third
master, a great Tao with a Tao School name of Zhen Dao Zi, came from Changbai
Mountain to teach him. This master came to him dressed in ordinary person's
clothes and never talked about where he lived. This master mainly taught Mr. Li
internal cultivation.
- In 1974, this great Taoist master left. Later, a female master from the
Buddha School came to teach Mr. Li Hongzhi. She mainly taught him the
cultivation principles and practices in the Buddha School. By that time, Mr.
Li's gong [cultivation energy] potency has already reached a very
high level.
- In 1982, Mr. Li Hongzhi was assigned to work in Changchun City after
serving in the army. He became even more diligent in his cultivation practice.
Over the next dozen years, a new master would come to teach him almost every
time his cultivation reached a new realm; some of the masters were from the
Buddha School and some from the Tao School. Whenever his cultivation reached a
new realm, he would experience a severe tribulation, and some of the
tribulations were unimaginable to ordinary people. After several decades of
diligent cultivation, Mr. Li's gong potency had reached an extremely high level.
What was more important was that he had seen the truth of the universe as well
as the many wonderful things that have existed in the universe since a long time
ago. He had also seen the origin, development, and future of humankind.
- During his diligent cultivation practice, Mr. Li Hongzhi always wondered,
"Why did these masters teach me these cultivation practices? Why did I come to
this world?" As his gong potency and his realm of cultivation rose, he gained an
increasingly profound understanding of mankind and human life.
- Mr. Li Hongzhi felt that the life of a human being was supposed to be good.
However, as humankind was lost in delusion, human souls
became corrupted and human bodies suffered. Even as people's living
standards and finances were rapidly improving, their moral standards had not
caught up. Whenever Mr. Li thought about this point, he felt pained in his
heart. People needed to have strong and healthy bodies as well as elevated
minds, and only in this way could they build a good society and lead good lives.
After he realized his responsibilities, he decided to put forth efforts in
improving people's health and allowing people to restore their souls to
goodness. Based on the great way of cultivation practice that was passed on to
him and that he had practiced for many years, Mr. Li wanted to achieve his goal
by creating a great way of cultivation practice that was suitable for ordinary
people to cultivate. He realized that this endeavor, although good, was filled
with hardships and that this was a very complicated and arduous path. But once
he made up his mind, he started to work without any hesitation.
- Starting in 1984, Mr. Li Hongzhi started to carefully investigate and study
the various kinds of qigong [i.e., forms of traditional Chinese exercises
which cultivate qi or "vital energy"] inside and outside China. He also
attended some qigong classes. He had analyzed the characteristics of people of
modern times, since Falun Dafa would be taught among ordinary people and needed
to be adapted to the lifestyle of modern people. Ordinary people all needed to
work and thus had limited time everyday to spend on practicing the exercises.
The traditional cultivation practices were too complicated and also slow in
allowing the cultivators to increase their gong. Mr. Li Hongzhi decided that
Falun Dafa should avoid the shortcomings and keep the strong points of the
traditional cultivation ways. He saw that people's health problems were
fundamentally caused by their minds. Every person longed for goodness, but
because people's minds were lost in delusion, all kinds of bad things had
emerged. Therefore, he decided to generate a great way of cultivation practice
that was suitable for modern people, that is, Falun Gong (since The Great Way of
Falun Cultivation Practice, which Mr. Li had cultivated in the past, is an
enormous cultivation way and cannot be taught to people on a large scale).
- Starting from 1984, Mr. Li Hongzhi devoted himself whole-heartedly to the
creation of Falun Gong. The Law Wheel of the Buddha School, the Yin-Yang of the
Tao School, and everything in the ten-directional world are all reflected in
Falun Gong. During the process of creating Falun Gong, all his masters came back
to him. Masters from the Buddha School, the Tao School, the Great Primordial-Tao
School, and other cultivation ways all joined in the process. Every single move
of the Falun Gong exercises was finalized after repeated deliberation, tests,
and practice under the guidance of these masters. Therefore, Falun Gong contains
not only the things from the Buddha School but also all the supernatural powers
in the universe, which form the essence of the universe.
- When Falun Gong was finalized in 1989, Mr. Li Hongzhi did not hurry to
introduce it to the public. To be cautious, he first asked his students to
practice Falun Gong. After over two years of observation, these students were
all found to have cultivated to a very high level. It would require more than a
decade or even several decades for a cultivator in other cultivation ways to
reach the stage of "three flowers gathering above the head." But some of Mr.
Li's disciples who practiced Falun Gong had reached this stage within two years,
which attested to the rapidity of the increase of gong potency among Falun Gong
practitioners.
2. Falun Gong's Public Introduction (May 13, 1992 to December 31, 1994)
2.1 Overview
Falun Gong was first made public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun City, China
on May 13, 1992. In the same year, the China Qigong Scientific Research
Association, after a thorough study of Falun Gong, fully acknowledged the
exercises, the principles, and the efficacy of Falun Gong. It accepted Falun
Gong as one of the Qigong schools directly affiliated with the association, and
also offered much help and support in promoting Falun Gong.
From May 13, 1992 to December 21, 1994, invited by the local Qigong
Scientific Research Associations all around China, Mr. Li Hongzhi held 56
seminars, lecturing on the principles and teaching the exercises. Each seminar
was about ten days in length, and tens of thousands of students attended them.
Wherever Mr. Li went, he received a warm welcome and strong support from the
seminar attendees.
It has been proven that Falun Gong, because of its miraculous healing power,
has made an inestimable contribution to society. Mr. Li Hongzhi tirelessly
traveled from place to place to fulfill his mission. Every one who learned Falun
Gong knew that Falun Gong had proven itself to be a great cultivation practice
and that Falun Gong starts at a very high level and offers much to the students.
Many genuine teachings and precious things are given to the students
unconditionally, and in this aspect no other qigong schools can compare with
Falun Gong.
The selfless nature of Falun Gong is first reflected in the very low tuition
fees. Wherever Mr. Li Hongzhi went to hold seminars, he always insisted on
charging a minimum fee. He often said, "Since I offer salvation to all beings, I
cannot increase the burden of practitioners."
Falun Gong is to give and to offer. It has supernatural powers. During the
seminars, Mr. Li Hongzhi first adjusted the students' bodies to a state that is
suitable for cultivation in Falun Dafa. He eliminated the sources of illnesses
for the students who had diseases and then opened up their energy channels. On
top of this, he installed a Falun [Law Wheel] in the lower abdomen of
each student. This Falun helps the practitioner cultivate him or herself. The
Falun rotates forever and thus achieves the goal of "the Fa cultivates the
practitioner," that is, although the practitioner cannot practice the exercises
all the time, the Falun helps the practitioner cultivate him or herself
non-stop.
The practice of Falun Gong is safe because it eliminates the elements of
other qigong practices that tend to make people go awry. For example, there is
no guidance of mind or spontaneous movements, etc., during Falun Gong exercises.
Furthermore, every practitioner is protected by Master Li Hongzhi's fashen
[Law body]. The fashen cleans the environment of every practitioner's
family and even the entire practice site; all the environments are under "safety
shields." Therefore, it is guaranteed that genuine Falun Gong practitioners will
not be interfered with by the external evil elements.
The characteristics of Mr. Li Hongzhi's seminars were as follows: Each
seminar took seven to ten days. On each day, Mr. Li lectured for about one and a
half hours and then spent half an hour teaching the Falun Gong exercises. On the
last day, he answered the questions that students had during their cultivation.
The tuition was very low. All the sponsoring organizations were the local
official Qigong Scientific Research Associations.
2.2 Government proclamations and awards during Falun Gong's public
introduction
- In September 1992, Falun Gong was declared as a qigong school that was
directly affiliated with China Qigong Scientific Research Association, and the
spreading of the practice of Falun Gong was allowed throughout China.
- From December 12 to December 21 in 1992, Mr. Li Hongzhi led his students
and participated in the 1992 Oriental Health Expo in Beijing, which was held at
the National Trade Building in Dabeiyao of Beijing. During the expo, the
miraculous healing effect of Falun Gong caught people's attention. Mr. Li
Hongzhi became the qigong master who had received the highest number of awards
at the expo.
- On July 30, 1993, with approval by the China Qigong Scientific Research
Association, the China Falun Gong Research Association was established.
- On August 31, 1993, China's "Upholding Justice and Saving People in Danger"
Foundation, an affiliation of the Ministry of Public Security, wrote a letter of
appreciation to the China Qigong Scientific Research Association to thank Mr. Li
Hongzhi for his providing free treatments for awarded individuals during the
Third National Conference of "Upholding Justice and Saving People in Danger."
- The People's Public Security Daily, published by the Chinese
Ministry of Public Security, carried an article titled, "Falun Gong Provides
Treatments to the Exemplary Individuals of 'Upholding Justice and Saving People
in Danger,'" which said that all the exemplary individuals, who were selected by
the Ministry of Public Security, "have seen their health greatly improve after [Mr.
Li Hongzhi's] treatment."
- From December 11 to 20, 1993, Mr. Li Hongzhi once again led some of his
students and participated in the 1993 Oriental Health Expo in Beijing, which was
held at the Sanyuanqiao International Exhibition Center in Beijing. Mr. Li
Hongzhi attended this expo as one of the Expo Organizing Committee members. Mr.
Li Hongzhi gave the lectures on December 15, 17 and 20. At the end of the expo,
Mr. Li was awarded the highest award of the expo, the "Award for Advancing
Frontier Sciences." At the expo, he also received the "Special Gold Prize" and
the title of the "Most Acclaimed Qigong Master."
- On December 27, 1993, Mr. Li Hongzhi was awarded an Honor Certificate by
China's "Upholding Justice and Saving People in Danger" Foundation, which is
affiliated with the Chinese Ministry of Public Security.
- On May 14 and 15, 1994, Mr. Li Hongzhi gave two lectures in the auditorium
of the People's Public Security University in Beijing. The sponsoring
organization was China's "Upholding Justice and Saving People in Danger"
Foundation.
- On August 3, 1994, the Houston City Government of Texas in the United
States issued a proclamation to Mr. Li Hongzhi and honored him as an "Honorary
Citizen of Houston" as well as "Goodwill Ambassador."
2.3 The publication and circulation of Falun Gong books during Falun Gong's
public introduction
- In April 1993, Mr. Li Hongzhi's book China Falun Gong was published
and distributed by the Military Affairs Friendship and Culture [Jun Shi Yi
Wen in Chinese] Publishing Company.
- In December 1993, China Falun Gong (The Revised Edition) was
published and distributed by the Military Affairs Friendship and Culture
Publishing Company. Shortly after Zhuan Falun, the essential book for
guiding the cultivation of Falun Dafa practitioners, was published, the Chinese
version of China Falun Gong (The Revised Edition) was no longer printed.
The book title, China Falun Gong, was also changed to Falun Gong. - In September 1994, Mr. Li Hongzhi personally demonstrated the Falun Gong
exercises and the instruction videotape was published by Beijing TV Art Center
Audio & Video Press.
- In December 1994, Mr. Li Hongzhi's major book Zhuan Falun was
published and distributed by China Broadcasting and Television Publishing House,
which was affiliated with the Department of Broadcast and Television of the
State Department of China.
2.4 An overview of the Falun Gong seminars that Mr. Li Hongzhi taught
Inside China (May 13, 1992 -- December 31, 1994)
(1) From May 13 to May 22, 1992, the first Falun Gong seminar was held at the
Fifth Middle School, Changchun City, China. This was the first time that Mr. Li
Hongzhi taught Falun Gong to the public. About 180 people attended the seminar.

(2) From May 25 to June 3, 1992, the second Falun Gong seminar in Changchun
was held at the Fifth Middle School, Changchun City, Jilin Province. About 250

(3) From June 25 to July 4, 1992, the first Falun Gong seminar in Beijing was
held at the auditorium of the National Building Materials Bureau located at the
Ganjiakou Business Center in Beijing. About 240 people attended the seminar.

(4) From July 15 to July 24, 1992, the second Falun Gong seminar in Beijing
was held at the Army's Second Artillery Auditorium, South Lishi Road, Beijing.
About 600 people attended the seminar. Sponsoring Organization: China Qigong

(5) From August 26 to September 4, 1992, the third Falun Gong seminar in
Changchun City was held at the Changkong Recreation Club, Changchun City, Jilin
Province. About 550 people attended the seminar. Sponsoring Organization:

(6) On September 7, 1992, Mr. Li Hongzhi gave a lecture in Changchun City.
From September 8 to September 17, 1992, the fourth Falun Gong seminar in
Changchun was held at the Provincial Party Committee Auditorium, Changchun City,
Jilin Province. About 700 people attended the seminar. Sponsoring Organization:

(7) From September 18 to September 25, 1992, the third Falun Gong seminar in
Beijing was held at the Army's Second Artillery Auditorium, Beijing. About 1,000
people attended. Sponsoring Organization: China Qigong Research Association.
(8) In October 1992, a Falun Gong seminar in Taiyuan was held at the Labor
Union Auditorium of the Mining Machinery Factory, Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province.
About 120 people attended. Sponsoring Organization: The Labor Union of Taiyuan
City Mining Machinery Factory.
(9) From October 27 to November 5, 1992, the fourth Falun Gong seminar in
Beijing was held at the Army's Second Artillery Auditorium, Beijing. About 1,500
people attended the seminar. Sponsoring Organization: Qigong Principles and
Exercises Committee of China Qigong Research Association.
(10) From November 16 to November 25, 1992, a Falun Gong seminar in Guan
County was held at the Guan County Brewery's Auditorium, Guan County, Shandong

(11) From November 30 to December 9, 1992, the fifth Falun Gong seminar in
Beijing was held at the Third Research Institute of the Department of Aerospace
in Yungang, Beijing. About 400 people attended the seminar. Sponsoring

(12) From January 3 to January 12, 1993, the sixth Falun Gong seminar in
Beijing was held at the Nuclear Equipment Factory's Auditorium, Dabeiyao,
Beijing. About 1,000 people attended. Sponsoring Organization: Qigong Principles
and Exercises Committee of China Qigong Research Association.
(13) From February 7 to February 14, 1993, the seventh Falun Gong seminar in
Beijing was held at the Army's Second Artillery Auditorium, Beijing. About 1500

(14) From February 15 to February 22, 1993, the eighth Falun Gong seminar in
Beijing was held at the auditorium of the Third Research Institute of the
Department of Aerospace, Yungang, Beijing. About 400 people attended. Sponsoring

Association.
(15) From February 23 to March 4, 1993, the ninth Falun Gong seminar in
Beijing was held at the Nuclear Equipment Factory's Auditorium, Beijing. About

(16) From March 15 to March 24, 1993, the first Falun Gong seminar in Wuhan
was held at the 701 Research Institute Auditorium at Wuchang District of Wuhan
City, Hubei Province. About 300 people attended the seminar. Sponsoring

(17) From March 29 to April 7, 1993, the second Falun Gong seminar in Wuhan
was held at the Hankou City Party Committee's Auditorium, Wuhan City, Hubei

(18) From April 13 to April 22, 1993, the first Falun Gong seminar in
Guangzhou was held at the Guangzhou Rubber Factory Labor Union, Guangzhou City,
Guangdong Province. About 200 people attended. Sponsoring Organization: The

(19) From April 29 to May 6, 1993, the tenth Falun Gong seminar in Beijing
was held at the auditorium of the Second Research Institute of the Department of
Aerospace at Wukesong, Beijing. About 1,500 people attended the seminar.

(20) From May 8 to May 17, 1993, a Falun Gong seminar was held at the Linqing
Party School's Auditorium, Linqing City, Shandong Province. About 500 people

(21) From May 25 to June 4, 1993, the first Falun Gong seminar in Guiyang was
held at Guiyang City, Guizhou Province. About 400 people attended the seminar.

(22) From June 5 to June 15, 1993, the second Falun Gong seminar in Guiyang

(26) From July 25 to August 3, 1993, the eleventh Falun Gong seminar in
Beijing was held at the Public Security University in Beijing. About 2,200

(27) From August 4 to August 11, 1993, the twelfth Falun Gong seminar in
Beijing was held at the auditorium of the Second Research Institute of the

(28) From August 15 to August 21, 1993, the third Falun Gong seminar in

(29) From August 27 to September 5, 1993, the thirteenth Falun Gong seminar
in Beijing was held at the Changxindian 27 Locomotive Factory's Auditorium,

(30) From September 12 to September 22, 1993, a Falun Gong seminar was held
at the Jiangbei District Government's Auditorium, Chongqing City, Sichuan

(31) From September 25 to October 2, 1993, the third Falun Gong seminar in
Wuhan was held at the auditorium of Zhongnan University of Finance and
Economics, Wuchang District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. About 1,000 people

(32) From October 3 to October 10, 1993, the fourth Falun Gong seminar in
Wuhan was held at the Hankou City Party Committee's Auditorium, Wuhan City,

(33) From October 11 to October 18, 1993, the fifth Falun Gong seminar in
Wuhan was held at the Wuhan Steel and Iron Company's Auditorium, Qingshan
District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. About 1,000 people attended the seminar.

Guangzhou was held at the auditorium of the Guangzhou City Labor Union,

(35) From November 21 to December 1, 1993, a Falun Gong seminar was held at
Hefei City, Anhui Province. About 510 people attended the seminar. Sponsoring

(36) From January 6 to January 15, 1994, the third Falun Gong seminar in
Guangzhou was held at the Guangzhou City Labor Union, Guangzhou City. About 800

(37) From January 17 to January 26, 1994, a Falun Gong seminar was held in
Tianjin at the Peoples' Auditorium located at Jianshe Road, Heping District,

(38) From January 28 to February 5, 1994, the first Falun Gong seminar in
Jinan was held in Shandong Young Cadres' College, 27 Jingshi Road, Jinan City,
Shandong Province. About 500 people attended the seminar. Sponsoring

Center.
(39) From February 11 to February 18, 1994, a Falun Gong seminar was held at
the Kenli County Party Committee's Guesthouse, Kenli County, Shandong Province.
About 400 people attended the seminar. Sponsoring Organization: The Management
Committee of the Kenli County Huanghekou Economy and Technology Development Zone
in Shandong Province. (40) From February 20 to March 1, 1994, a Falun Gong seminar was held at the
auditorium of the General Labor Union of Lingyuan Iron and Steel Company,
Lingyuan County, Liaoning Province. About 800 people attended the seminar.

(42) From March 14 to March 22, 1994, a Falun Gong seminar was held at the
Bayi Auditorium, Heping District, Tianjin City. About 1,200 people attended the

Company.
(43) From March 27 to April 4, 1994, the first Falun Gong seminar in Dalian
was held at the Nanyuan Auditorium of Dalian University of Foreign Languages,
Dalian City, Liaoning Province. About 600 people attended the seminar.

(44) From April 5 to April 12, 1994, a Falun Gong seminar was held at Jinzhou
City, Liaoning Province. About 500 people attended the seminar. Sponsoring

(45) From April 15 to April 24, 1994, a Falun Gong seminar was held at Hefei
City, Anhui Province. About 1,000 people attended the seminar. Sponsoring

(46) From April 29 to May 8, 1994, the seventh Falun Gong seminar in
Changchun was held at the Mingfanggong Auditorium of Jilin University, Changchun
City. About 1,000 people attended the day seminar and about 1,000 people

(47) From May 20 to May 27, 1994, a Falun Gong seminar was held at the
auditorium of the Third Factory of Chongqing Steel and Iron Company, Chongqing

(48) From May 29 to June 5, 1994, a Falun Gong seminar was held at Chengdu
City, Sichuan Province. About 500 people attended the seminar. Sponsoring

(49) From June 11 to June 18, 1994, a Falun Gong seminar was held at Fengyu
Stadium of Zhengzhou City, Henan Province. About 1,500 people attended the

(50) From June 21 to June 28, 1994, the second Falun Gong seminar in Jinan
was held at Huangting Stadium in Jinan City, Shandong Province. About 4,000

(51) From July 2 to July 9, 1994, the second Falun Gong seminar in Dalian was

(52) From July 15 to July 18, 1994, a Falun Gong seminar was held at the
stadium of the National Women's Volleyball Training Center, Chenzhou City, Hunan
Province. About 500 people attended the seminar. Mr. Li Hongzhi only gave

(53) From July 19 to July 27, 1994, the fourth Falun Gong seminar in
Guangzhou was held in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. About 1,000 people
attended the seminar. Sponsoring Organization: The Guangzhou Baolin Qigong

(54) From August 5 to August 12, 1994, a Falun Gong seminar was held at
Feichi Ice Hockey Stadium in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. About 1,500
people attended the seminar. Sponsoring Organization: Harbin City Qigong
Research Association.
(55) From August 20 to August 27, 1994, Falun Gong seminar was held at
Yanbian Area Stadium in Yanji City, Jilin Province. About 4,000 people attended
the seminar. Sponsoring Organization: Yanji City Qigong Research Association. (On September 18, 1994, Mr. Li Hongzhi gave a Fa lecture to Changchun City
Falun Dafa assistants and also answered their questions. The meeting lasted for
five hours and thirty minutes.)
(56) From December 21 to December 29, 1994, the fifth Falun Gong seminar in
Guangzhou was held at Guangzhou Stadium, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province.

2.4 Falun Gong seminars held outside China by Mr. Li Hongzhi (March 1995 to
April 1995)
- On March 13, 1995, Mr. Li Hongzhi went to Paris, France to teach Falun Dafa
and the exercises. He met the Chinese ambassador to France and other officials
of the Chinese Embassy in Paris, France. Mr. Li was invited to give a lecture at
the Cultural Division of the Chinese Embassy in France. This marked the
beginning of Falun Dafa's spreading outside China.
- From March 13 to March 19, 1995, the first Falun Gong seminar outside China
was held in Paris, France. The seminar was held in the evenings.
- From April 14 to April 20, 1995, the second Falun Gong seminar outside
China was held in Gothenburg, Sweden. It was the last time that Mr. Li Hongzhi
held the seminar in which he spent several days giving the lectures as well as
teaching the exercises. In addition, Mr. Li gave three Fa lectures in
Gothenburg, one Fa lecture in Stockholm, and one Fa lecture in Uddevalla. Each
Fa lecture lasted for about half a day.
