United Kingdom: Promoting Falun Gong in Southampton (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On November 6, a group of Dafa practitioners from England and Wales arrived in the town centre of Southampton in the south of England to promote Falun Gong and tell people about the campaign of genocide being waged against the practice by a few criminals in the Chinese Government who bring shame to the Chinese people. Lots of people asked for details of the free classes where they can go to learn the exercises. Many people signed their names on a petition calling for the instigator of the persecution, former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin, to be brought to justice in a court of law.

Immediately after we started to demonstrate the exercises along with the Dafa music, many people stopped to watch, especially when they saw that one of the practitioners demonstrating the exercises was only four years old. Other children became very curious and followed the exercise movements.

People read the anti-torture exhibition posters carefully and practitioners took the chance to go up to talk to them in detail about the human rights abuses against people who practise Falun Gong in China. Two members of Amnesty International happened to pass by and they signed our petition, furthermore inviting practitioners to introduce Falun Gong in one of their forthcoming activities. There were also plenty of people who left their phone numbers so that we can contact them as soon as we set up a free exercise class in Southampton. One man said that he had already encountered Falun Gong in New York and took all kinds of leaflets there. A large number of children talked to their friends after hearing about the truth and encouraged their friends to sign the petition to support the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin. Some of them demanded to be taught the exercises on the spot by the practitioners. A Chinese person was extremely puzzled by Jiang Zemin's act of persecuting such kind people. He took Video-CDs as well as expressing his regards for all the practitioners.

In the few hours of the short activity, over 400 people signed to support the lawsuit, almost 2,000 flyers were distributed and a lot of people asked if they could learn the exercises.
