More Information on the March 2004 Persecution Death of Ms. Gao Shuqin, a Practitioner from Heilongjiang Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Gao Shuqin, 51, was a teacher at the No. 12 High School of Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province. She was named as an outstanding teacher of Daqing City. Between 12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. on March 27, 2004, Ms. Gao accidentally fell from a building and died while trying to escape persecution.

At around 7:00 p.m. on March 26, 2004, Gao Shuqin and many other Falun Dafa practitioners went out to distribute truth clarification materials. They were followed by policemen from the Railway Police Substation in Rang District. Gao Shuqin's husband, Li Lin, and Wang Enjun were abducted by the police, but Gao Shuqin returned safely to her home. At around 11:00 p.m. a group of policemen from the Railway Police Substation came to Gao Shuqin's home at Building 27 of Kejiyuan, Rang District, Daqing City, but Ms. Gao refused to open the door for the policemen. The policemen then rang the doorbells of each neighbor's unit in the same building. They woke up the neighbors and asked them to open the security door (installed to prevent crime) in an attempt to arrest Gao Shuqin. However, all the neighbors refused their request.

Early the next morning, the same policemen came to Gao Shuqin's home again, but Shuqin refused to cooperate with their requests. The policemen then locked Gao Shuqin's door from the outside, making it impossible to open from the inside. She was thus locked inside for the morning on March 27. She tried to call her neighbors for help but they couldn't open the door either. Feeling desperate, Gao Shuqin tried to climb down to the ground by tying a bed sheet to a window. Unfortunately, the sheet tore in half and Gao Shuqin fell to the ground. She was seriously injured and died soon after.

After she fell, it took the riot police a long time to pry open the door using specialized tools.

The Rang District Branch of the Daqing Public Security Bureau has been trying to cover up the facts about this incident. When Gao Shuqin's daughter, a master's degree student in Xi'an City, and her son, a university student in Changsha City, returned, the police lied to them and said that Gao Shuqin locked herself in and jumped off the building.

When people inquired of the Rang District Branch police as to Gao Shuqing's current situation, the policemen answered, "There is nothing to worry about. She's fine." They never dared to tell the truth, that she had died.

Gao Shuqin's husband, Li Lin, is being held in custody in the detention center in Longfeng District of Daqing City. Li Lin asked Liu and Sun, two policemen from the Rang District Branch, many times for the current status of Gao Shuqin. They always lied to him saying, "Gao Shuqin has some heart problem. She is staying at the No. 4 Hospital."

One month later, Li Lin received the news of his wife's death from another person.
