Miao Yumeng, Orphan of Practitioner Mr. Miao Qisheng, Is Missing

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Miao Qisheng from Shenyang City, Liaoning Province passed away on May 14, 2002 as a result of the persecution by Xianggong Police Station officers in the Huanggu District, Shenyang City. His son Miao Yumeng, around 13 years old, suffers from heart disease and his whereabouts are unknown.

Mr. Miao Qisheng was only 36 years old at his death. His wife, Ms. Zu Liming, is also a Falun Gong practitioner. Ms. Zu was abducted in April 2001 and sentenced to one year of forced labor. Later she was arrested again and sent to the so-called legal education school (actually a brainwashing center) at the Zhangshi Labor Camp in Shenyang, where she was subjected brainwashing and torture.

Prior to the persecution, Mr. Miao was responsible for Falun Gong materials in Shenyang City and was also a coordinator at the Huanggu District practice site. After the persecution started in July 1999, he became a "610 Office" prime target in Shenyang for persecution and was repeatedly detained. To avoid harassment, he left his home and went into hiding. In October 1999, Mr. Miao was arrested and incarcerated at the Shenyang Detention Center. In March 2000, without allowing him to be represented by a lawyer, a Shenyang City Intermediate Court secretly sentenced him to two years in prison. Mr. Miao was incarcerated for two and a half years, which is longer than the sentence decreed.

On May 14, 2002, officers from the Xianggong Police Station in the Huanggu District broke into Mr. Miao's home and forcibly took him away again. He had just been newly released from prison. Later that day, they took him back and shortly afterwards, Mr. Miao died. Officers at the Xianggong Police Station secretly carried the body away and banned his family and relatives from seeing his body. They stonewalled all requests for information.
