Korea: The Most Influential State-owned TV Station Positively Reports on Efforts to Gain the Release of Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Gao Chengnu

(Clearwisdom.net) On November 2, 2004, 36 council members of Chungcheongnam-do unanimously passed a resolution urging China to immediately release a Korean citizen's Chinese wife, Ms. Gao Chengnu, who has been incarcerated in Jiamusi Labor Camp, Heilongjiang Province since May 2004 for practicing Falun Gong. The most influential State-owned TV station, KBS reported on this.

The report said the 36 Chungcheongnam-do council members demanded the immediate release of Ms. Gao Chengnu, who is imprisoned by the Chinese authorities for practicing Falun Gong. Council members expressed their deep regret for the imprisonment of Ms. Gao Chengnu, who is married to a Korean citizen residing in Cheonan-si.

In order to help Ms. Gao Chengnu gain release from the Chinese authorities, a rescue campaign was started. At the same time, human rights organizations also started a petition drive and series of activities to expose the Jiang group's human rights violations. Ms. Gao Chengnu was married to Mr. Guo, a Korean citizen living in Cheonan-si last year. Because she practices Falun Gong, she was arrested by Chinese police and has been incarcerated for six months.
