Wang Tongchun, a Falun Dafa Practitioner from Songyuan City, Jilin Province, Was Arrested and Persecuted Because He Exposed Torture (Photos)
(Clearwisdom.net) According to a news release from Japan, practitioner Mr. Wang Tongchun was arrested on the way to Beijing on September 29, 2004. Mr. Wang lives in Songyuan City, Jilin Province, and is the old brother of Tianzhong Yuzi, a Japanese resident. Mr. Wang traveled in a group of nine persons, including eight women and one man. They went to Beijing from Songyuan City by bus and were arrested on the way. Mr. Wang and his wife were detained separately. At about 5 p.m. that evening, the police searched Mr. Wang's home and removed Teacher's picture, the CD's of Teacher's lectures and Falun Dafa books. Later Mr. Wang was detained in the Shangyou Detention Center in Songyuan City. He was informed that he would be detained there until his sentencing. The telephone in Mr. Wang's home is monitored with a wiretap and the Shangyou Detention Center's telephones are also monitored. After learning of this situation, members of the Japan Rescue Team called Songyuan City's National Security Unit and verified the news of Mr. Wang Tongchun's arrest. However, Security Unit officials refused to disclose where Mr. Wang was being detained, claiming it was "classified information." These officials also threatened the Japan Rescue Team, adding, "Your Japanese group intends to rescue him, correct? Any attempts to rescue him will result in additional charges being brought against Mr. Wang." When a phone call was made to the Songjiang Police and Security Section where Mr. Wang was initially detained, Wang Jiang of the Songjiang Police and Security Section said, "Mr. Wang Tongchun was followed and then arrested on the way to Beijing because customs agents found pictures of a simulated torture exhibition made to represent conditions he supposedly suffered in a forced labor camp and which were then mailed to individuals outside of China." The following are the pictures that Mr. Wang Tongchun says demonstrated the tortures he suffered while detained in the Jiutai Forced Labor Camp and the letter that he wrote to expose the persecution. Mr. Wang was detained in the Jiutai Forced Labor Camp in Jilin Province for a year and half, beginning March 20, 2002. The camp used various means to torture him, including feeding him with salt water, excruciating physical pain, and sleep deprivation. When Mr. Wang was released near the end of 2003, he had suffered brain injuries, resulting in memory loss and inability to walk by himself. The following is Mr. Wang Tongchun's letter describing the torture he suffered in the detention center and forced labor camp during March and April of 2002. "On March 20, 2002, I was arrested by force by the Oilfield Branch of Songyuan City's Public Security Bureau just because I firmly cultivated Falun Dafa. About 7 p.m. on the night of March 20, about ten policemen from the Oilfield Branch of the Songyuan Public Security Bureau knocked on the door of my home. I refused to open the door. Then the police dispatched a fire engine to my house on the authority of Zhang Baocheng, the Branch Director. They broke a window on the third floor of my house and broke into my home. They searched the house and confiscated Falun Dafa audiotapes, videotapes and banners. Chief Luo and Instructor Wang of the Economy and Administration Section led about ten policemen to take me forcibly to the Oilfield Branch. They interrogated me, asking me who had given me the banners and who I had contacted. I refused to tell them and they beat me up. Wang Jiang, the Deputy Instructor, is very ruthless and has brutalized many Falun Dafa practitioners in the past. He handcuffed me, shocked me with an electric baton and beat me over the head with the electric baton. My eyes were blackened immediately, and my head was bleeding. The beating raised lumps all over my head. Wang Jiang beat me for more than an hour, until the battery in the electric baton was out of power. Then the policemen punched my face with their fists. My face was beaten black and swollen. They did not stop beating me until they were tired. The next day, the police sent me to a detention center. The detention center personnel often questioned me illegally. When they defamed Teacher and Falun Dafa, I stopped them.. On April 17, 2002, I was illegally sentenced to a year's forced labor without any legal proceedings. I was sent to the Jiutai Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp of Jilin Province. The camp is a primary base for transforming Falun Gong practitioners in Jilin Province. The camp guards, led by Meng Xianglin, ordered that two prisoners were to watch each practitioner at all times, even when practitioners went to the lavatory. They used very heinous means to torture practitioners. When I arrived at the camp, Police Chief Gao Ke reprimanded and threatened me. He tried to indoctrinate me with evil lies for more than two hours. When I went back to the dormitory and put down my luggage, four guards called me away and carried out another round of threats, intimidation and indoctrination of evil lies until about 2 a.m. the next morning. Their lies did not affect me. The next day, Gao Ke ordered prisoners to bring me to the strict observation room used to torture those practitioners who firmly believe in Falun Dafa. They intended to force me to give up Falun Dafa and to "break from" Teacher. I told them that Teacher taught us to be good people and that practicing and achieving a strong and healthy body is not wrong. They defamed Teacher and Falun Dafa again. I rebuffed them and did not allow them to curse Teacher and Dafa. I also told them that the self-immolation incident in Tiananmen Square was a fraud, used to frame Falun Gong. They tied me up and beat me. I resisted and shouted. Four or five of them covered my mouth with a dirty cloth. They used sticks to beat me and stab my ribs and my armpits. The flesh of my armpits was torn by the time the sticks were broken. During my resistance, the dirty cloth fell to the ground. They used sticks to pry open my mouth, which loosened some of my teeth. Then they found some white plastic tubes, used to torture practitioners who do not "break from" Falun Dafa, and repeatedly stabbed my armpits. It was extremely painful. There is no way to describe it. Even today I still feel pain in my ribs where they injured me. They took turns beating me for a while. Then I ran back to the dormitory saying I had to go the lavatory. They chased me to the dormitory and prisoner Liu Wenli grabbed the back of my head. My hands held the vertical poles of a bed. He exerted all his strength to twist my head. I fainted and my neck was injured. They carried me back to the observation room and continued the torture. A young guard newly assigned to the facility saw the torture I was suffering. He shouted to the monitors, and then they stopped. On April 20, 2002, they tortured Mr. Sun Shizhong, a practitioner from Songyuan City, to death."
