[Editors' Note: In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The universe will reward actions that are in harmony with this principle, while actions such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law requires that they, too, be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.]

Wang Guowen and Wang Yong were the former general manager and the assistant manager of Hongfu Company in Fuquan City. They participated in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, especially in persecuting Mr. Yang Yi, who later died from the torture. When Mr. Yang was hospitalized for a broken leg, Wang Yong visited the hospital and gripped Yang's throat to force him to give up his belief.

On the day Mr. Yang died from torture, Wang Guowen, Wang Yong and the city officials from the Political and Judiciary Committee, the 610 Office, and the police department had a secret meeting and ordered the immediate cremation of Yang's body at the Dujun cremation center. In the middle of 2003, both Wang Guowen and Wang Yong were convicted of bribery and sentenced to 7 and 15 years of prison respectively.

Shuai Kaiyang, the Fuquan city Party secretary, was seriously involved in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners, especially the torture of Yang Yi. Shuai Kaiyang suddenly died at a meeting.

Xu Yanren is 55 years old and the chief of the security division of #155 Factory in Dujun City. He was very active in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners and imposed a 1500-yuan fine on anyone who went to appeal in Beijing. On January 23, 2004, Mr. Xu Yanren suffered a massive stroke and was paralyzed. After hospitalization and medication, he is no longer bedridden, but he must use a cane for support.
