Some Enlightenment from Reading Teacher's New Article 'My Version of a "Stick Wake-up"' By Lian Er, a Falun Dafa practitioner from China (Clearwisdom.net) A few days ago, a practitioner from my county was reported to the local authorities for handing out truth-clarification materials and CDs on a bus owned by her family. The county inspectors seized the bus, but they did not arrest the practitioner because she maintained righteous thoughts. On hearing the news, my first thought was to eliminate the evil factors in other dimensions that persecute our fellow practitioners. However, while I was sending forth righteous thoughts I thought of Teacher's words: "The next person's things are your things, and your things are his things." (Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. Fa Conference) (1) I asked myself, "Did I take my fellow practitioners' things as my own-- Fellow practitioners were persecuted. Did I take the persecution as my own-- Did I send righteous thoughts with all my heart-- The answer was "No." I thought to myself, "my basis was not right!" On the following day, while at a fellow practitioner's home, the practitioner told me that the person mentioned above was safe now. I knew that it was the result of our eliminating the evil factors in other dimensions as one body. At that moment I suddenly had a new understanding of Teacher's article "My Version of a 'Stick Wake-up'." Teacher said, "Some people have family members who have been imprisoned in the persecution and are being persecuted, and yet instead of hurrying up and working along with everyone else to resist the persecution, stop the persecution, and lessen the persecution of your family members, you're talking about things like 'studying the Fa at home' and you're still full of complaints about everything that [Dafa] students are doing. Did you know that when the persecution of your family members who have been imprisoned is lessened or stopped, it's the result of Dafa disciples exposing and shocking the evil beings while braving evil and danger to take action against the persecution-- When they get out, how will you bear to face them-- What have you done for them-- A cultivating human being is not a cultivating god, and everyone makes mistakes in the cultivation process; the key is how you deal with them. Some people are able to recognize them and some aren't, and then there are people who don't want to recognize them because of their attachment of fear and some other factors." In the past, when practitioners were persecuted, we would look for their shortcomings first, to see where there were gaps, what concepts of theirs were not in line with mine, what were their attachments, and so on. It seemed that the persecution was regarded as a matter of course. Now think about it--where did we stand-- Weren't we standing on the side of the evil-- Didn't we almost strengthen the evil factors-- At that time I did not truly understand this Fa (2) principle. I feel ashamed of myself. When I originally read Teacher's new article I thought it was directed at the practitioners who were hiding at home, or at everyday people. When I think about it now, isn't it clear that Teacher was referring to every Dafa practitioner-- When our family members (fellow practitioners) were persecuted, think about it--what did we do for them-- I truly hope that those practitioners who have the same thought as I did will wake up and stand by the side of their family members, strengthen their righteous thoughts, and work together to save the members of their families (fellow practitioners) who are persecuted and imprisoned. While sharing with another practitioner, I enlightened to more Fa principles in "My Version of a 'Stick Wake-up'." Teacher said, "Haven't some people said that when I tell it to jump, it jumps, when I tell it to go mad, it goes mad, and when I tell it to go wild, it goes wild--" Fellow practitioners, isn't it true when each of our Dafa practitioners wants to eliminate the evil, the evil will be eliminated-- We really have the power to do this. Don't underestimate yourself. Remember, we are particles of Dafa. Since Dafa is almighty, aren't we also almighty-- Besides, we have our Teacher. At the same time, I realized that when Teacher teaches Fa he is directing it to all of us; so we should not always think it only pertains to other people. When I read "My Version of a 'Stick Wake-up'" again, I had another understanding of Teacher's words, "In Fa-rectification all of the cosmos's final, remaining things will be born anew as they are disintegrated and re-created, and the moment when the Fa rectifies the human world draws ever nearer." In the past I thought Teacher was talking about the outer universes, but now I realize that Teacher is talking to all Dafa practitioners as well, because we are universes. The remaining parts in our universes that have not assimilated to the Dafa will be born anew as they are disintegrated and re-created. Therefore, all our attachments and all the factors of the old universes must be cast away. The sooner you get rid of them the better chance there is of saving the sentient beings. Teacher said, "In Fa-rectification your thoughts have to be righteous, not human."
