The Painful Torture I Suffered at the Qingling Detention Center in Wuhan City

(Clearwisdom.net) In 2000, I went to Beijing's Tiananmen Square to unfurl a banner with the words "Falun Dafa is Good" and also to clarify the facts of Falun Dafa. I was then illegally arrested and sent to the Qingling Detention Center in Wuchang, Wuhan City. Policeman Li Shengli incited the inmates to torture me cruelly. The following is an account of the tortures I suffered at their hands.

They put U-shaped shackles around my ankles and screwed them tightly. I could not move my ankles. Each step I took was excruciatingly painful. They then instructed the inmates to knock me onto the ground and put a rope in the middle of the chains. They interwove women's nylon tights into the rope to reinforce it. The set of shackles weighed over 20 kilos (around 42 lbs) and the shackle chains were as thick as one's wrist. They then ordered an inmate to drag me along the ground, by the side and by the feet.

I had cuts and bruises all over my body, and there was a big hole on my knee. When the U-shaped metal shackles were screwed tightly onto my ankles, they then pulled me around. This made the shackles cut into the flesh around my ankles and my anklebones were pulled down bit by bit. It was so painful that it felt like my bones were being jabbed with knives. They tortured me this way until my ankles became misshapen. I was in extreme pain, and I felt as if my legs were being chopped off.

During the torture, the inmates kept changing the way they dragged me to aggravate the pain. Someone would pull me suddenly from the side, and I would fall to the ground. This was most vicious, because my ankles were put in tight shackles and could easily break on impact.

I not only suffered physical torture at the detention center, but mental torment as well. When I first arrived, because I refused to cooperate with the perpetrators, a few inmates even threatened to gang-rape me. Even though they did not go through with their threat, they made me feel that this could happen at any time. They did gang-rape a small and weak male inmate many times and intimidated him so that he did not report them.

The painful torture I suffered at Qingling Detention Center has left deep scars in both my mind and body.
