Ms. Chi Lixuan Persecuted to Death in Longkou City, Shandong Province
(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Chi Lixuan was a Falun Gong practitioner in
Moshanzhaojia of Dongjiang Township, Longkou City, Shandong Province. The
Dongjiang Township officials illegally detained her for going to Beijing and
speaking out against the persecution of Falun Gong. The township officials beat
Ms. Chi and left bruises all over her body. She was not allowed to eat or sleep
until she wrote the statement agreeing to give up her belief in Falun Gong. Her
husband was then forced to pay 1,500 yuan (1) for her release, putting her
family in a terrible financial situation. After getting home, Ms. Chi Lixuan regretted writing the statement giving up
her practice of Falun Gong, so she wrote an announcement to annul it. Afterward,
the Dongjiang Township officials arrested her again and persecuted and tortured
her even more severely than before. After a few days, the officials sent her to
the brainwashing center held by "610 Office" in Xiadingjia. Since she
refused to write the "Guarantee Statement" this time, she was not
allowed to sleep and was given only about 100 grams of food each day. After a
few months of torture, Ms. Chi became extremely pale, she had pressure in her
chest, and she coughed continuously. Her health became worse and worse. Fearing
she would die in detention, the township officials released her. Only a few days
after arriving home, Chi Lixuan passed away. (1) Yuan is the currency in China; 500 yuan is equal to the average monthly
income of an urban worker in China.
