Tapping into the TV System to Broadcast Truth Clarification Videos Is a Form of Resistance against State-Run Terrorism

November 20, 2004, the Beijing Satellite TV program was tapped between 8:05 p.m.
and 8:18 p.m. From the information we got, the video broadcast was entitled
"Between Heaven and Earth." During the 10-30 minute broadcasting
period, important excerpts from the official Tiananmen Self-immolation video was
shown, including a sequence clearly portraying a slow motion analysis of Liu
Chunling, [one of the self- immolators] who was hit over the head and
killed by a man wearing a military coat. Beijing Satellite TV broadcasts to a very large area. According to the
Beijing TV Station, by February 2002, Beijing Satellite TV reached 22 capital
cities, two municipalities, 190 other big cities, and four provincial TV
networks in Guangdong, Guangxi, Sichuan and Hainan provinces. A total of 42.95
million households and approximately 150 million people subscribe to the Beijing
Satellite TV programs. If county-level cities are also taken into consideration,
Beijing Satellite TV covers about 200 million viewers. According to experts in Beijing, this may have been the first nationwide,
longest-lasting TV-tapping incident with the greatest impact. It was also one of
the most effective attempts at resisting the nation-wide, state-run terrorism
perpetrated by Jiang and his faction. China's state-run terrorism is different from other forms of terrorism, in
that the totalitarian government controlling the propaganda machinery can
instill and plant hatred into the minds of more than one billion Chinese people
by constant bombardment of negative and false information and blockade of
positive and truthful information. In time, the deceived people believe in,
tacitly approve of, echo and even cooperate with the terrorist group. Compared
to torture, killing and imprisonment directed by the perpetrators, most
frightening is the widespread misunderstandings and enmity that these
brainwashed people have displayed. This is the basis for the continuation and
escalation of the terrorist acts. After Jiang's faction had used all available propaganda machinery, including
Beijing Satellite TV, to slander Falun Gong for the past five years, many people
have grown accustomed to the lies and did not complain that Jiang and his
faction put their lives in turmoil. On the contrary, they felt bothered by the
truth clarification video. They were not bothered by the vulgar and malicious
language used against Falun Gong that runs rampant on some websites and Internet
forums, but they shake their fists when they receive Falun Gong
truth-clarification materials through email. Jiang's faction has blocked all
legal channels that Falun Gong practitioners could use to appeal for themselves,
so why don't people think about the reason behind the blockade? It's because
Jiang's faction is afraid of the truth being told! That is the reason why it is
both important and urgent to restore the people's right to know, establish the
righteous position in people's minds for "Truth-Compassion-Tolerance"
and to put an end to the slander and spread of hatred. After people who viewed the truth clarification video learned that Jiang's
faction had staged the self-immolation incident at Tiananmen Square and murdered
innocent people in broad daylight, just to frame a peaceful cultivation group,
what will they think? Shouldn't people have the right to know the truth? In its announcement, Xinhua News Agency avoided any mention of the
content of the truth clarification video and just referred to it as "Falun
Gong-related material," trying to make it sound like it was propaganda. The
announcement also stated that the government reserves the right to take legal
action. The Chinese government has never filed any lawsuits against Falun Gong
in the international community. Any investigation by independent third parties
will reveal the Jiang faction's persecution of Falun Gong, the lies they have
concocted and its blockade of factual information. During the persecution of Falun Gong, the television medium has been the most
influential mode of transmission. Jiang's faction has done its utmost to
fabricate propaganda videos to slander and attack Falun Gong. Their programs
have succeeded in leading countless people to develop unreasonable hatred and
misconceptions towards Falun Gong. Tapping into the TV system to broadcast truth
clarification videos is necessary to expose the lies. Because TV addresses such
a large audience, it is one of the most effective ways to help people learn the
truth. The more people learn the truth, the less likely it is for the state-run
terrorists to continue. As the persecution is still ongoing and freedom of
access to factual information is currently not available in China, tapping into
the TV system to broadcast truth clarification videos is one of the most
effective ways to combat the Jiang faction's terrorist acts and an admirable act
of justice under the present circumstances. |
