Germany: Information Day in Leipzig to Thank Kind-hearted People for their Help Rescuing Xiong Wei (Photos)
(Clearwisdom.net) On November the 13th 2004, practitioners organized a
Falun Dafa Information Day in Leipzig. They used the opportunity to thank
Leipzig residents for their help in gaining the release of Ms. Xiong Wei. Xiong Wei studied at Berlin Technical University before heading back to China
for work commitments. To let people know that Falun Gong is being illegally and
unjustly persecuted, Xiong Wei gave out leaflets in Beijing. She was arrested
and subsequently imprisoned for two years in a forced labor camp. During these
two years she suffered various forms of abuse and maltreatment, including
torture. In 2004, with the help of governments, non-governmental organizations
and friends, Xiong Wei was released earlier this year. Some people were surprised to meet Ms. Xiong Wei in person in Leipzig, as
they had read about her in the media. Many people stopped at the information booth, looked at the torture scenes
and showed their sympathy. Some were deeply emotional about it, while others
were equally shocked. They found it hard to believe that such an inhuman
persecution happens in today's world. Lots of people signed a petition to
"Bring Jiang Zemin to justice." Jiang is the former head of China's
Government and is responsible for instigating and forcing others to take part in
these crimes against Falun Gong. People asked a lot of questions, which allowed the practitioners to talk
about the inhuman persecution of Falun Gong in greater detail. All in all, the
environment was very good. The practitioners were able to inform many of
Leipzig's locals about the persecution of Falun Gong.
