Practitioners Ms. Wu Hongmei and Mr. Wu Rongyao from Chongqing City Subjected to Persecution

(Clearwisdom.net) Two children of Mr. Wu Guangqian, a retired staff member from the Chongqing Railroad Sub-bureau, practice Falun Dafa. After July 20, 1999, they were frequently persecuted and harassed by the local people and the police from the forced labor camp. Mr. Wu and his wife, therefore, lived in tremendous worry and stress.

Ms. Wu Hongmei, 33 years old and the younger daughter of Mr. Wu, lived in Longfeng Town in the Beifu District of Chongqing City. She worked at the Southwest Pharmaceutical Factory. She began the cultivation practice of Falun Dafa in 1996.

After July 20, 1999, Ms. Wu went to Beijing to appeal to the government on behalf of Falun Dafa six times. The police from the local police station in Longfeng Town illegally arrested and mercilessly beat her. Later she was imprisoned in Beiquan Mental Hospital in the Beifu District. Police bribed the mental hospital doctors and applied political pressure to make them administer nervous-system-destroying drugs to all the practitioners in the hospital.

In September 2000, the Longfeng Town Police Station illegally sentenced Ms. Wu to two years of forced labor education. She was sent to Maojiashan Women's Labor Camp in Chongqing, where she firmly resisted the persecution by not cooperating with their orders or acting on their instructions. The police persecuted her even more aggressively. Because of her righteous thoughts and behavior, the forced labor camp was afraid to keep her. At last, because she was ill, the labor camp asked the Longfeng Town Police Station to take her back, and she was released on bail for medical treatment.

The "610 Office" in Beifu District, however, was not prepared to accept this. Afraid to release Ms. Wu on bail for medical treatment, they illegally and secretly imprisoned her again in Beiquan Mental Hospital to continue persecuting her. After her family members learned of her situation, they requested the Longfeng Town Police Station to release her unconditionally. The "610 Office" was afraid of making the matter more widely known and asked the police in the Longfeng Town Police Station to send Ms Wu back to the forced labor camp at any cost and with great speed. However, the forced labor camp was even more afraid of accepting her. The "610 Office" then secretly imprisoned Ms Wu on the third floor of the Second People's Hospital (also called Chongqing Municipal Neurosis Special Hospital, located in Xiema Town in the Beifu District) to continue torturing her. Not until December 2003 did Ms Wu obtain her freedom. After she returned home, the local police frequently harassed her. To keep from cooperating with the persecution and to better clarify the truth to the common people and save them, Ms Wu was compelled to become destitute and homeless.

Practitioner Wu Rongyao, 46, is the son of Wu Guangqian. He was a former locomotive dispatcher in Chongqing Railroad Sub-bureau. In 1997, he began to practice Falun Dafa.

After July 20, 1999, Mr. Wu twice went to Beijing to make legal appeals and was detained twice. After he returned to his company, he was dismissed from his position and transferred to Chongqing West Mechanical Section as a sanitation worker.

In July 2000, because he delivered Falun Dafa materials, police from the railroad sub-bureau arrested him. Later he was reeducated through two years of forced labor at the Dayan Forced Labor Camp in Ziyang City, Sichuan Province. He was released in February 2002.

After he went home, Mr. Wu continued to validate Falun Dafa and clarify the truth to the people. In September 2002, he was arrested again. While in jail he was made to wear heavy foot shackles weighing several dozen jin (over 25 lb) for about a month. Later on, he went through forced labor for two years.

In order to resist the persecution, as Mr. Wu was being transferred to Xinhua Forced Labor Camp in Sichuan Province, he opened the vehicle door suddenly and jumped out of the speeding vehicle. He was covered with blood from the fall, but the police still sent him to the forced labor camp.

When the police in the forced labor camp saw Mr. Wu covered with blood, they were also afraid of accepting him. Despite the police's insistence, the labor camp officials said they could only accept him with proof of a hospital examination of his injuries. The local police then sent Mr. Wu to the labor camp's hospital for an examination. There they tried to bribe the doctor, saying, "Provide us with a certificate that there are no injuries on Mr. Wu's body." The police doctor said, "Several days ago, a Falun Gong practitioner just died. I do not dare to do that." The police sent Mr. Wu to Mianyang Municipal People's Hospital and obtained a fraudulent physical examination report. Mr. Wu was again illegally imprisoned in Xinhua Forced Labor Camp in Mianyang City, Sichuan Province, for two years. In the forced labor camp, he experienced constant torture. He was finally released around September 2004.

When by chance I met the elderly Mr. and Mrs. Wu, I asked about their two children who practiced Falun Dafa. The old couple sighed deeply and tears came to their eyes.
