A Greeting Card from a Vice Principal (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) My son Liang told us that his school's vice principal, Ms. Friss, had sent him a card. She included a letter in the card.

In the letter, Ms. Friss said that she just read about the Washington Youth Bike Ride to Chicago project, which Liang was involved in this past May. The principal said that she was deeply touched, as Liang was willing to help the children of Falun Gong practitioners who are being persecuted in China. She knows that long distance bike riding is not easy, as she herself had tried it before. She believes that Liang should be proud of himself for what he has accomplished.

The Washington Youth Bike Ride arrived at Cumberland, Massachusetts on May 15, 2004

The ride started in the mid-May, and my son was very busy with his school. His school only allows students to take 5 days off per year, otherwise student(s) may be failed and not allowed to advance to the next grade. Because my son really wanted to participate in this project, we suggested that he take 4 days off. In this way, he won't bring too much trouble to his teachers, who would help him to catch up with classes and take makeup exams afterward. This of course was also a good opportunity for him to clarify truth about the practice and the persecution of Falun Gong to his teachers.

Liang then reported his plan and clarified the truth to the principal. The principal said that the project was very meaningful and that Liang could take the time off. Two days later, Liang also obtained signatures of approval from 7 teachers, as well as their encouragement.

My son was in the 11th grade, which was quite demanding. Nevertheless, Liang still participated in a lot of Dafa activities. At the end of the semester, to our surprise, he got all A's while participating in many activities to help end the persecution in China.
