Li Lin Loses Eyesight Due to Torture

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Li Lin from Yushu City, Jilin Province was arrested in August 2002. He was tortured in the Yushu City Detention Center, which resulted in severe damage to his eyesight. He was sentenced to four years in prison. He has currently been jailed in the Jilin Province No.2 Prison for more than 10 months, where he completely lost his eyesight.

Six months ago, the prison transferred him to a hospital, but the doctors said that his eye problems were too far advanced to be cured. On October 12, 2004, we went to the prison to request his release as we have done many times before. The prison administration and the Jilin City Procuratorate (Chengxi Branch) have still not released my son.

Practitioners are tortured in the Jilin Province No.2 Prison by many means, including sleep deprivation, "in the air suspension (1)," "dead person's bed (2)," being scalded by boiling water, etc. The assistant director of the prison, Liu Wei (male), said that they do not care whether practitioners live or die. They have encouraged prisoners to torture practitioners. Some prisoners try their best to torture practitioners in order to receive a reduction of their terms.

Practitioner Li Lin was beaten at the Yushu City Police Station, underwent numerous tortures, and was sentenced to four years in prison. Soon after he was sent to the No.2 Prison, he lost his eyesight. The prison administration took no steps to have him treated, which resulted in a complete loss of his sight eight months ago. He can no longer take care of himself.

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Liu Chengjun was tortured to death at the Jilin Province No.2 Prison (also called the Jilin Prison). Many other practitioners are still detained there.

There are two forms of this torture: (a) With both hands cuffed behind the back and only the toes touching the ground, one is hung by a rope that is tied to metal window frames; (b) One hand is cuffed to one bunk bed and the other hand to another bed, and the two beds are pulled in opposite directions. The victim feels extreme pain as the body is being pulled apart.
The four limbs of the practitioner are stretched out and tied to the four corners of an icy-cold metal bed. The victim cannot move at all. Neither is he allowed to get up to eat, drink, or go to the bathroom. This treatment lasts from several hours to more than a dozen days. This type of cruel torture causes severe damage to the practitioner both mentally and physically.
