Taiwan: Practitioners Expose CCTV's Deceitful Conduct (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On the morning of November 28, 2004, during the opening ceremony of the "2004 Taipei TV Festival," Falun Gong practitioners held a press conference outside the festival venue to expose Chinese Central TV's producing and broadcasting of programs that slander and frame Falun Gong in the campaign to breed hatred and gain support for the persecution. The practitioners held banners with the words, "Is CCTV a Deceptive TV Station? Irrefutable Evidence." They also called on the global media to reject the Chinese Communist Party's false news stories.

Mr. Chang Ching-his, Director of the Falun Dafa Association of Taiwan, said that CCTV is a national TV station that violates the basic principles of news reporting, especially fairness and objectivity. From April 25, 2002 to 2003, CCTV made and carried 332 programs slandering Falun Gong. He called on CCTV to revert to a standpoint of honesty and human conscience, and asked them to respect the facts, stop the slander immediately, disclose the facts and apologize to Falun Gong practitioners, their family members and everyone around the world.

Since Jiang's initiation of the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, CCTV has actively participated in the persecution and made a series of programs to slander and frame Falun Gong in order to instigate hatred among people and to brainwash the Chinese people.

After the press conference, the practitioners entered the TV festival venue, handed over a letter of protest to CCTV, and requested CCTV to disclose the facts and stop lying and making up false news stories.
